    Hi April, I have had my permanent implant for about 6 weeks now. I have had good results with occasional times when I would need to turn up or down the stimulation until it would settle down and work more consistently. My permanent implant was put in 5 days after my temporary one. Only after getting the permanent one was I given a few days of pain pills which I didn't need unless I put pressure on the implant or tried sleeping on it. I can't believe the difference after getting the implant. Before I had terrible desperation to have to go that sometimes just came out of the blue. If I was near air conditioning or even seeing a bathroom I would need to go instantly. Also getting up in the middle of the night and first thing in the morning, I would have accidents because I couldn't get there fast enough. I also find it quite easy to use and would recommend anyone who has an urgency problem or accidents that this is what you need to finally feel more normal. I'm 66 and live in Florida. 😉

    I just find out my bladder is extremely small so my doctor told me about this and Monday I’ll do the therapy before they permanently put the device in. To see someone young like you help me see I’m not the only one going through such shame and I have this problem all of my 30yrs of life and finally find a result that may help

    I go in Monday for part one, I’m 46 and have had OAB for about 18 years now. Finally could not stand it and started getting tested all over again. I was tested in 2004 and they could not come up with a treatment then so I gave up. 3 x an hour is not uncommon. If I could get 5 hours sleep a night it would change my life. Thank you for sharing and I hope your doing well.

    Hi April, I just wanted to thank you so very much for doing this video. I’m fixing to start my trial next week and I’ve been searching and searching for this type of video to see what it detailed and what were other’s experience. I’m a bit nervous but you have helped tremendously. My brain and bladder don’t communicate anymore, and I’m praying I have good results and restore that connection. Thank you again!

    Thank u so much for this video. I’m scheduled for part 1 tomorrow morning and I can’t wait to get rid of this problem. I have ORB n tests have shown my bladder can only hold 7 ounces of urine before it lets it all out not giving me time to get to the bathroom. I’m scheduled for part 2 next week 6-13-2023 so hopefully all goes well. 🙏🏽

      If you research Axionics OAB devices you will discover they are superior to Interstim, so make sure you check out both. Axionics also lasts longer even taking into account the amount of stimulation used. I know I am not keen to keep having to go to hospital to have the device changed. and the Axionics remote is much simpler/easier to use than the Interstim one. Both are MRI compatible.

    I only have two incisions. I thought mine was permanent,but perhaps not. Having trouble finding correct setting. Changing pad sometimes 8 times,very very wet. Then other times 1 - 3 changes. Urinating 6-I times a day. HOWEVER it is an improvement from before the implant. Hopefully it gets better and CONSISTENT.

    My family memberr has other meds that interact will the meds for this condition. She carries urine and can't void it all. Actually post void was 286. I'm worried about surgery for her. She wouldn't be able to remember not to bend over or twist as directions tell you. She couldn't journal her success. Anything going into the spine worries me. Multiple surgeries to replace batteries and fix broken leads could be a mess. Besides meds and this, is there any other way to help?

      If you're getting it done they will tell you how and when to use it. Its just used basically to turn it up or down to control the implant device and also to shut it off when you have an mri or having surgery then you turn it again with the remote I just had mine done in June

    • @aprilmiles1541
      @aprilmiles1541  Před 3 lety +1

      The external battery wire is just for throughout the trial only. Once you have had your trial and if found to be successful, you’ll have the permanent procedure where the battery will be implanted along with the wire which connects the battery to the tin wire which is touching your nerve x
