Just a little information about my experience with the Axonics sacral nerve stimulator. Hope this is helpful for anyone who is thinking or looking to get the implant and has lots of questions :)
I’m not getting connected.can you help me
I’m sorry to hear you are having problems, if you reach out to your nurse specialist, they will be able to help x
Thank you April!!!!! I can’t wait to get my quality of life back💪🏽♥️
I’m excited for you ☺️
After implant can i do sports ?
It’s best to avoid any physical activities for a minimum of 6 weeks while the wire settles and the wounds heal. There are some sports which should be avoided as they can cause damage to the implant and wire. Your axonics specialist will be able to tell you all you need to know x
Did u ahve it for retention or incontinemce
OAB and retention
Did you have sex soon
How was sex drive
Really appreciate this video! I have tried botox and it’s not working, so this would be the next step, which I am very nervous about😩 Thank you for sharing!
Hello! Had the trial and worked perfectly! Had permanent placement and was off to a rocky start. In the first week when I got into bed my left leg entirely down to my foot started tingling and big toe was pulling. Turned the controller down-almost off. Contacted my Axonics rep and she fixed the entire issue over the phone by using a new program. It has been 2months post op and every few days I have increased stimulation until 4 hours between bathroom visits. 🎉🎉 Am off all bladder medicine. Keep in touch with your Axonics representative. They will help you. This really WORKS!
So sorry to hear of your struggles 😢
There were struggles at the start but all worth it to get to where I am now with it 😊
Thank you so much for making this video! Answered so many questions for me!
I’m so pleased you have found this helpful 😊
Just stumbled across your videos whilst trying to find reviews on Interstim and Axonics. Been to the hospital today to be told my neuromodulation is going ahead after a 5 year wait and over 20 years of bladder issues. Pretty much exactly as you were before you had yours done... Im 50. Im torn to which one to go for and swaying towards Axonics for the smaller size but the issues with yours and the time to get it right has made me wonder if maybe the Interstim would be better but its bigger and comes with more kit to carry around. Glad to hear yours is finally working better. Im very excited to have got to this stage and may finally be able to have a better quality of life and not have that anxiety and feeling of panic that you will not make it to the toilet. I drive everyday as part of my job and its a nightmare having plan my joirney around services and sometimes having to stop inbetween and running into shops and pubs to use the loo.
Hu, which one did you choose? I'm in between Axonics and Medtronics I'm not sure which one, is for urinary retention, we are planning to go to USA for this procedure and pay cash just don't know which one will be better
@@andrecancol hey, i went first the Axonics in the end. Had an MRI Friday for a final check. Just waiting for a date for surgery now which could be 5th April, 3rd or 15th May. Cant wait to get this sorted and change my life 😁
@@andrewjohnson1535 but why did you choose Axonics instead of Medtronics? Do you mind sharing why do you need the implant? And are you getting in USA what state?
April is this Bladder and Bowel card only offered in foreign countries? I have never heard of this being offered in the United States of America before.
Hi, this wasn’t offered to me either but was told about it and found it online. You apply for it yourself, it’s been a life saver for me 😊
@@aprilmiles1541do you think Axonics is better than Medtronics/interstim?
How is it the trial worked but the rest didn't? Confounding. So sorry to hear and wishing you success. Would love your feedback
My foot twitches from the device, doesnt work.
@mariahwilliams5333 it doesn’t work me either , can you tell me your experience. I have mine implanted 3 months ago and is not working
@@monicaorellana12 I still have accidents in the night every now and then. Sugar, especially soda and Gatorade makes it worse. Also no liquids a few hours before bed
@@mariahwilliams5333 I guess it doesn’t work for everyone I had my accidents in reunions with my family 🤦🏻♀️
Me too! Left leg and foot went haywire.
Didn't help me, I wasn't offered free trial!!!! Had to go on CZcams to learn,, company sucks!! Pull-up an 2 long bladder pads,, good luck Patricia Howard, usa
Thanks April, i am just at the start of my journey just waiting for the trail faze to begin. Just watched all of your videos and they have given me the confidence to go ahead with the implant. Thank you for the advice and where to get support.
I got the bigger implant last week and I've been trying to find support. I keep requesting on the facebook page but they haven't accepted my request. I'm trying to find others for advice and support. Thank you so much for these videos. They have given me some encouragement.
April, I’m so glad to hear your implant is working well and your doing good. Thank you for sharing your journey and the information about the b&b community. It has helped me greatly. I got my permanent implant almost a month ago and it’s improved my quality of life as well. Best of luck to you and your family. Cassandra
Thank you Cassandra. I hope all is well with you and you’re continuing to see positive results x
Hi April. It’s been a few years. How have your results been?
I have other videos since this one, see on my channel for updates :)
I have the Axonics implant now for 2 years... Before I got it, I was using the bathroom about 18-19 times a day... After getting the implant, I was down to using the bathroom about 9 times a day... I was down from 3-4 times a night to only 1 time... It helped great for a while.. I charge it every 1st and 15th of the month... and it takes about 30 minutes to charge up doing it this way. I'm not at 2 times a night and that now seems to be my new normal. I and right now on level 4 lights on. When I had an issue and was going 3-4 times in the night.. they had me turn off the implant for about 3 days and then turn it back on.. it helped bring me back to 2 times a night... But I am better with this implant. I can go do my grocery shopping without having to find a bathroom... I can work in the yard for 2 hours and not have to run to the bathroom... I'd like to have it down the 1 time a night, but am happy with how it has helped me from what I was doing... I had a really hard time going to the store for groceries before I got it... Good luck with yours and hope you can get back better. Mine isn't perfect but it is so much better than I was without it
April - thank you for the honest reviews in both this video and your trial period video. I am going to undergo the trail period next month after surgery for my "naughty bladder" 😃 didn't produce the results we had hoped for. Cheers
I'm so glad to hear your story, April. I had the implant done 2 weeks ago,and I'm seeing my doctor tomorrow for my post-op visit. I am praying that I didn't disturb The Wire. I wanted it on my left side. And apparently, that took an extra 45 minutes for the doctor. I did this because I have L5 S1 problems and if any future surgery is needed. I wanted it to be on the left side. I hope I get a good report tomorrow. you are so right. It's so hard to tell sometimes if it's really working. Thank you again and take care.
Thank you, your video is very helpful, you’ve taken the fear out of it, and given hope
Thank u so much for this video. I’m scheduled for part 1 tomorrow morning and I can’t wait to get rid of this problem. I have ORB n tests have shown my bladder can only hold 7 ounces of urine before it lets it all out not giving me time to get to the bathroom. I’m scheduled for part 2 next week 6-13-2023 so hopefully all goes well. 🙏🏽
What was the support group to log onto for information? I only heard about it through your channel, but can’t find it now. 💕
Hi Diane, there’s one on Facebook called SNS Support and another called Axonics SNS Support x
My wife wants to know how is the axonic workimg for you?

Do you have any anxiety issues or ocd??
Hi April, I just wanted to thank you so very much for doing this video. I’m fixing to start my trial next week and I’ve been searching and searching for this type of video to see what it detailed and what were other’s experience. I’m a bit nervous but you have helped tremendously. My brain and bladder don’t communicate anymore, and I’m praying I have good results and restore that connection. Thank you again!
How did it work for you?
My family memberr has other meds that interact will the meds for this condition. She carries urine and can't void it all. Actually post void was 286. I'm worried about surgery for her. She wouldn't be able to remember not to bend over or twist as directions tell you. She couldn't journal her success. Anything going into the spine worries me. Multiple surgeries to replace batteries and fix broken leads could be a mess. Besides meds and this, is there any other way to help?
I didn’t know this can interfiere with meds but I have been noticing my meds are not helping me as before
Can this be helpful for patients with constipation/incomplete evacuation issues? I heard it's very helpful with oab..
Hi I've had the axonic for fetal incontinence. I was constipated alot too. My schinter muscle doesn't work so I can't push. It may be worth having tests.
You are the only person I have been able to find who has taken the time to help people like me who are anxious and still a bit unsure.I do very much appreciate you! Thank u for the amazing info
Hey, I have an Axonics video out on my experience...
Update please!?
Is this a MLM??
Hi Melissa, what do you mean by MLM?
Do you know the reason why trial period went well and then when they put it in permanently it didn’t work as well? Did you ever try Botox in the bladder before the Axions?❤️
I was wondering how to sleep, thank you sooo much for telling of the pregnancy pillow! So glad you're doing better. You are so beautiful inside and out and these videos have really comforted me in getting the surgery.
Thank you for your kind words, I’m so pleased you have been able to take something positive from my videos. Best of luck with your surgery x
Thank you for the tip of writing down symptoms on a notepad in the trial. So sorry it has not been working, I hope it gets reprogrammed to what you need!
Thank you for the tip of the wire for the trial, I was worried about that!
Thank you so much for this. I wanted to hear from a real life person their experience before getting this procedure!
Hi I just got this battery implant my self last month
thank you so much! getting this surgery soon glad for your review! giving me reassurance :)
Thank you for sharing your experience. I just had the device implanted and It was nice to hear someone's story regarding the implant.
Hi Brett, hope you are getting on well with your device :)
Did you need pain medication after the first procedure?( Not the trial). Also, were you unable to sleep on your back after that implant? I had terrific results with the trial. I had the permanent implant done 2 weeks ago, and it's not working. I didn't need any pain medication and was able to sleep on my back, so I'm hoping it will be the same if I do end up needing to have it redone. I will see my doctor tomorrow to explore my options. Thanks so much for sharing your experience.
Hi Michael, only over the counter pain relief. I didn’t sleep on my back for a good 3+ weeks as it just felt too tender. How are you getting on with your device?
I have an implant and I like this
Thank you so much for this!
How much time would you recommend to take off work after the surgery to implant the permanent device?
I would check what your consultant recommends, but for me I took 1 week off when I originally had the permanent, following the trial and was fine. They just implanted the battery and connected it to the trial wire so it wasn’t too bad. If you’re getting a new wire for the permanent then you may need to take more time x
@@aprilmiles1541 Thank you!
SNS Facebook group is wonderful!
glad for your outcome! the rep gave up on me after three times of adjusting! speaking to the company and my urologist-- you really need to be your own advocate!
Don’t give up! I tried 7 different programmes before my rep felt it was time to look at other options!
Great! I’m so happy for you. Stay blessed.
Thank you 🥰
