    It's time to admit it. The predators are the best managed team in the league.
    Look at what they did in this Free Agency, how strong their team look now with Skjei to slot in between Josi & Lauzon, most likely to be paired with Luke Schenn, feeding a super strong top 6 to middle 9 bolstered by those natural born scorers Stamkos & Marchessault.
    You then look at their draft classe this year, a selection Grant McCagg deemed best 8 overall. You look at the picks they have next draft : 2x 1st, 2x 2nd, 3x 3rd.
    And then you look at the goalies they have Saros supported by Wedgewood and some good prospect (incl. recent draftee Milota who could turn out excellent) coming up meaning they could even exchange Askarov for a massively interesting return as there's no other goalie prospect this talented on the Market.

    • @ls93780
      @ls93780 Před 3 dny +2

      That remains to be seen, they’re looking good for making a solid run at the cup this year if things go well. If not, then those Stamkos, O’Reilly, and Marchessault contracts are going to start looking really dicey really quickly. That being said they haven’t given up draft picks so their prospect pool will be fine as long as they draft well, and at least the Stamkos contract isn’t a 7 year one, even if I think it’s steep for where he’s at in his career. If the cup push bombs at least they won’t be stuck in rebuild mode for 10 years.

He's a power play merchant but 5 on 5 he's not that great, and if he's taken to the boards with the puck he's probably losing it. Not hating, obviously because I love stammer, im just stating facts. I've been disappointed how little the word "loyalty" means for players, but then watching Knights or Tampa do what they did, I have no questions at all. Sadly, the NHL becomes more business than passion. If players and teams changing everything so quickly for an extra $1mln, expect fans to be less loyal and watch hockey as WWE. "Die hard" fans will die, and those will stay, for whom the game is just a "new trend" for a tiktok video.

I think max Stammer plays two more years before he becomes a burden. Production is going to slow just like with Ovechkin. Tampa needs to get younger and faster, and I think they found that with Guentzel. When we cleared about 14M moving Sergy and Jeannot, I thought we could’ve have taken Guentzel at 8.5 and Stammer at 5.5. But if Stammer wanted more to stay, why not lock down his replacement and not worry about it any more?
