Julia Delaney was the sister-in-law of Francis O’neill, Chicago’s police chief back in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. This song was written by an unknown composer for Julia and has become a very popular tune played in many Irish fiddle circles. Renowned Irish fiddler Kevin Burke demonstrates how to play the song and breaks down the melody note by note.
