Once again, clear as water explaination!
Valuable tips thank you Kevin 🤗
Thanks for posting this lesson Kevin
Very clear and concise. Thank you Kevin Burke.
Sounds so easy! Thanks😊
Thank you sir, this is a wonderfully concise explanation. There are many prodigies in the world of music; very few can explain themselves so well.
Agreed, Matz. More lessons to follow from the incomparable Kevin Burke in the near future...
True! Many people learned a skill so long ago and so deeply their brains have forgotten how their hands actually do it 😂
Thanks , Kevin. Beautifully well explained. Off to practise, now!
Thank u! I have been wondering about how to do this for years!
thank you!! This was very helpful. I have great respect for you and your playing.
ít's just after watch your video that I finally understood the sense of this particular ornament, thank you very much for your teachings.
You bet, Cesar!!
Thank you
I’ve been trying to get the Celtic triplet for ages, thanks for the tip!
thank you...i really love irish music...
The best explanation I've found. I still can't perform it yet but this is the best I've come across so far. Think I hope to run before I can walk.
Amazing explanation of the mechanics and muscle use in the bow arm. That was super useful! Thank you!
Thank you so much!
I learned a few things here! Thank you!
+Alice Hawksworth Thanks, Alice! Kevin is great.
Wonderful explanation and demonstration, thank you!
+Linda McIrvin Glad you liked Kevin's perspective!
Light as a feather!
Not slurring coming out of the triplet gives it more of a bounce.
Thanks you legend.
great explanation mucho thnxx for posting :)))
thank you sir :)
Great demonstration thanks. Interested in the strings you use. Your violin seems very responsive and bright. I don't have to force sound out of mine but it always sounds a little too warm/smooth rather than dynamic.
great! thanks
and what tune is played at the end?
+Marcelo Eduardo de Almeida That's "The Glass Case of Emotion" written and performed by Fiddlevideo instructor Hanneke Cassel. You can learn more here, including where to purchase a MP3 of the song, if you wish: www.fiddlevideo.com/glass-case-1/
Is the bowed triplet the same as a treble?
Is this the guy from the bothy band?
yeah. They had tommy people's for a while earlier on I think, but Kevin Burke was their fiddler for a long time. He also did some great albums with micheal o'domhnaill, their singer.
It sure is
Soooooooo sssllllloooooooooooow
The 'slur' sign, with the '3', is just the conventional way of indicating a triplet - it actually has to do with timing, and nothing to do with 'slurring'. (And, yes, I did just want to get one up on Kevin Burke ... !)
Wow! Who would a thunk it? Was Kevin taught this method or did he come up with it himself?
