Hey man! I have a 76 Cougar that had a 400 in it that was locked up. I got a 460 out of an 86 truck that was carb swapped. Cant seem to find a motor mount cofiguration that works. Needs to "sleeve" over the 400 frame but attach to the 460. Any tips would be cool. Thanks!
Yessir the BBF 460 can be taken to 100 over.. a 557 is crazy..the powernation guys did this before they put the 557 in a old school grand marquis that made somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000 hp. Then they put like a mild 150 shot on her. That thing was a beast for a land yacht..i really hope they kept that motor around and they put in something else one day, something that weighs a lot less then the marquis does.. that would be sweet..btw if you haven't seen there ford 300 straight six build check it out..they had it go from 83 hp and 170 ish lbs of torque to 270 hp and 345 lbs of torque..naturally aspirated..stock bore n stroke..just head work, mild cam and flat top pistons.. after the turbo it was pushing 500 hp and over 500 lbs of torque..absolutely insane.. it was a 300 from a generator of some sort..

I have a 70 f100 that we restored. I pulled a 460 out of a Lincoln continental and tore it apart down to the block bought everything new to restore it. Took a while to tune and what not but driving like a champ now. Pretty spendy to drive though.
My friend growing up had a 460 f250, when his parents went out of town, he strait piped it, they got pissed and made him fix it. Early 90s, single cab 5 speed big block, it was a fun truck to take to the lake.
429 is a beauty, it's the only engine I know of for classic mustangs, I'm just now getting into big block ford mustang engines and so far the 385 is the only one I know of for the boss 429
