    Powernation did a build a couple years back where they built a max effort 598 BBF and a max effort BBC 632. The 598 got Kaase SR-71 heads and made over 1100hp and the 632 made around 1060 or so. Don't remember exactly on the BBC I know at the end they said they seemed to downplay the difference in power. They actually went to Kaase's shop and talked to him and he was talking how head flow isn't everything in making power. I really like how Kaase is always giving credit to everyone but himself somewhat different than a certain fellow who dabbles in diesels.

    Come on Richard give the BBF some respect. The best of the big blocks. The Mains. The high cam for the stroker. Many more things. Build a low buck stroker with Kaase heads like the big bang LS and hit the 2K hp mark. Time to recharge the channel with some insanity.

      You realize he doesn't often build or do much of anything with the engine Dyno right? He is usually just pulling up old Dyno results and doing comparisons because he has so many photos and dynos in his long history of doing this that it's easy for him to create content that many of us have not seen.

    • @jonmac155
      @jonmac155 Před rokem +6

      @@MrPhukyewI know. Most of the stuff is out there as an old hotrod article.
      What are his most popular videos? The Big Bang series. He has a 1/4 million subscribers and is going ro run out of old dyno runs at some point. Hence build a relatively budget oriented BBF. Moderately priced stroker kit, decent used heads and build an efi intake which we know he has done in the past. Why not a BBC? It's been done to death. Plus the BBF is a beefier motor. Make the dyno pulls, sell the motor and fund the next project. One of those 1/4 million subscribers must know someone interested. Plus would have the provenance of being the motor everyone has seen.

      @@jonmac155 that I can agree with, but I feel like he really doesn't need this CZcams channel it's just a hobby for him. I learned almost everything I know about cams from this channel so he will always have my support.

These are "Windsor based dimensions" for the the block with highly modified D3 heads. Benjamin Strader of EFI University talks about Robbie Blankenships engine at about 37:42 of the Clutch Burners Podcast Episode 5 czcams.com/video/FEQZHo--P6Q/video.html. He says it his 400 ci engine makes 1204 hp at 10,600 rpm on the engine dyno. Robbie's been 7.75 at 175 mph at 2800 pounds, shifting a Liberty 5 speed at 11,200 rpm or so. Reven Even interviewed Leonard Long not long ago czcams.com/video/W-khO0bWex4/video.html. He's won the class five times running a D3 headed 415 ci engine designed by Dave Visner. He claims 1100 horsepower and needs to weigh 2820 for the extra cubic inches. As the owner of Gforce transmissions he runs his own GF2000 5 speed transmission. Richard,
    Two things; DV, goes to great lengths to show why LSA is more of a factor than many wish to believe. All these cams are 110 LSA, are potentially way off and would improve everywhere with maybe even 102 LSA.
    Power AND Torque at these compression levels. Intake inertia signal.
    This transitions to my second comment. With the increasing street torque trade off at each power plateau is there a way to fill in that torque hole below Three K with higher velocity ports or with a low threshold of boost with a tight hot side? Maybe even a variable turbine housing?
    Maybe you may wish to for content sake do the late ignition timing trick where the mixture goes off inside the exhaust manifold ahead of the turbine inlet for us for testing purposes? Ever mess with that? I thing Norwood, came up with that a long time ago and many of the big wigs from Formula One were pumping him for his secret to instant full boost with a large turbocharger.

Anyway, I'm a posting machine gun today since Ive been busy with other stuff for a while. As far as Ford fan? Some guys say they are fans of anything that makes power. I'll say I am pro-American (as opposed to anti-import) brands - mostly because I am American. Two Lane Blacktop, American Graffiti, Corvette Summer, Vanishing Point, Christine, all that stuff! I've always run GM stuff (except for a brief love affair with a 2012 Boss Mustang), but the big cube Fords have always captured my interest. Why? Because it's Ford, it's American, it's "expandable", and it makes a sh***** of power.

With turbos this block is as light as a small block and can really rip. No one wants to do it. They are astounding! Blair Patrick is your man. He even has iron heads that can blow your mind! I know that without a doubt. This engine was the 60s Ford NASCAR and it kicked Enzo’s cars back to the village they came from and the Ford drivers were smiling from ear to ear. And remember RIP, Ken Miles who died without winning his triple crown he deserved testing the J Car. The 427 was rock solid against the world. BTW could that curve dip around 4500-5000 be partly because of timing curve? is the timing curve controlled by the distributor or ignition box? wouldn't EFI just fix just about all of the gremlins? face it, by the time your this far into the build $ wise, what the F@@k is another few hundred for a pre-wired loom an LS throttle body and an injector rail? in USD how much? $1000 - 1500? your already at about $8 - 10K into the build! make it more reliable and easy to configure for just about any setup? I am kinda jealous though. i admit it straight out. by about the 700 - 800 Hp where i am, we would already be looking at a $20000 long block with alloy heads. conservatively! i would have also gone forced induction before NOS. forced induction could add massive power without the will it grenade if the NOS jets i chose were too big. i can change boost with a spring and a press of a key.
