This version really showed how Justin can reimagine a song in a completely different way. Who else can offer you the experience of listening to a song for the frist time, again? Thank you so much for the reupload
Just heard this with head phones on for the first time. Whatever Justin does sounds like it could go wrong at anytime but always seems to fall on the side of genius. That’s why I love it so much.
That's the secret, he doesn't consider himself in control, he just works with what he's already built himself for good or bad. Bringing order to the chaos.
This would have been my favourite song on the record - thankfully ovrture made it possible to keep enjoying. Amazing Justin brother - loving vibes your way
2020 was almost certainly the worst year of my life. There was COVID, of course, which was hard on everyone. There was the constant assault that Trump had waged against decency, good sense, and common humanity. But my parents had announced on Christmas Eve of 2019 that they were getting divorced, and my wife had left for a "work trip" in December 2019 that never ended until I filed for divorce almost two years later, never having seen her again. I weep like a child when I hear the last minute of this song. I used to get on my knees in my bedroom, so completely alone, family gone, wife gone, country as good as gone, friends and community gone, and just cry and cry, praying for all of it--any of it--to be over soon. This song would unlock and release everything I had built up, and I'll forever be grateful to it for that. The pain did eventually end, though it wasn't over soon. I guess we all have to make our peace with the timing as best we're able.
Found it. It's a quote from Viola Davis speaking at the 2018 Los Angeles Women's March. The full quote as given in Vanity Fair (Jan 20, 2018) is: “It is through human dedication and effort that we move forward,” Davis declared to loud cheers. “And then when we don’t work, what happens is that time actually becomes an ally to the primitive forces of social stagnation. And the guardians of the status quo are in their oxygen tanks, keeping the old order alive.”
I can hear birds clicking/chirping and rain and I don't know if they are live from outside his studio, or part of his mix. But they sound so uplifting as an addition to what he is playing. The birds sound live, but that is a suprise, I thought his studio would be more more sound tight than that?
I just keep coming back over and over
Same my friend. For years!
this was the only and for sure best memory of lockdown
Same
Watched this many times and just now realizing the Text in the middle of the Screen changes color as he uses voice effect. So cool.
Found out this got removed last night and I was upset thank you good sir
The first time I heard this version I didn't quite get it, but now... I think it might be one of the loveliest things I've ever heard.
For me this has a very deep meaning, not just as a sublime musical performance but in the context of 2020. Despairing, loving, agonising, hope.
I think most people would listen to this and think WTF but to me it's just incredible.
had to stop here on 2/22/22 because it’s about to be over soon.
Hopefully

It’s how you know how in control he is.
It’s Justin.
It won’t ever break apart.
I’d get overwhelmed, too.

2:34 is one of the most beautiful things i’ve ever heard
I always cry when I hear this and I don’t know why
Ugh I know. I actually just sent this to my friend, saying “ for some reason I always cry when I hear this.”
Still one of the best performances ever.

Does anyone know the source and full text of the sample about the "Guardians of the status quo" in their "oxygen tanks keeping the old order alive"

The rest of the world, again, in relation to the Trump resurgence.
hi teo
I’m surprised the restaurant/bar/etc. hasn’t asked you to leave yet. You’re so beautiful you’re making all the other girls look bad.
hey blondie!
Dude need a fuckin metronome or is the appeal that it's just ambient noises?
probably ambient noises, maybe a clock lol
