The game's scenario is written by Nojima(who was involved with Versus, and who still works with Nomura til this day). The key visual designer is Naora Yusuke, another SE guy who works Nomura on the regular and was involved with Versus.
This isn't just a bootleg Verum Rex/Versus by a bunch of nobodies. It's literally being headed and scored by Nomura's friends and co-workers. That's worth considering.

I find that very unlikely given that they're on friendly terms and that they're currently working together at SE with the FFVII spin-offs. You really think Nojima would brazenly steal Nomura's ideas and then walk around the office with the guy for the next five years collaborating on the remake trilogy?
Besides, they weren't just Nomura's ideas to begin with. Versus was a part of Favula Nova Crystallis, which Nojima co-authored to begin with.
@@indedgames4359 Very unlikely, considering they are still working together to this day on various projects and games officially. There's no way in hell this game would drop a full premiere trailer on a major platform in their native country with multiple fellow co-workers involved without Nomura giving it his blessing on some level.
Plus Nojima and Shimomura both have expressed immense respect and appreciation towards their relationships and opportunities with Nomura. I just can't imagine both of these individuals being that disingenuous after literal decades of friendship and professionalism.

From my experience, FuRYU's published titles usually get localized by NIS America:
-Caligula Effect Overdose (although the OG version was localized by Atlus)
-Caligula Effect 2
-Crystar
-Monark
-Crymachina
So I feel like NIS America if anyone will localize it. Although I've seen someone say that the games I've listed maybe the exception instead of the rule. Also remember, FuRYU is the JP publisher, Natsume Atari are the developers of Reynatis (FuRYU tend to get credited as the sole devs on their titles)
NIS localizes the Ys series too as far as I know. That gives me even more hope
Xseed has also worked with Furyu before (I know Trinity Trigger off the top of my head) but this game has NIS written all over it. Would be shocked if they don’t localize.

Might as well mention this while seeing this trailer (MAN THIS LOOKS AND PLAYS INCREDIBLE!!), but I like how the logo for Reynatis has two major colors, blue and red, which also is noticed on the two main characters "powering up" or "getting ready to fight" sort of form...
The two colors....and considering this got shown in the japanese Nintendo direct....these two colors are highly regarded like the switch's joycons. Eh? Lol that is what suddenly got most of my curiosity from this video.
Also also, the small text below the Reynatis logo has a similar letter shape "L" standing for Left and another one at the end similar to the shape of "R" standing for right, which can be taken in the context that the default joycon colors you get from a switch is the Left joycon as blue and the right joycon as red.

It's great to see that Final Fantasy Versus XIII hasn't left the public eye of millions! Everyone can see that Nomura had a vision to create one of the GREATEST Final Fantasy, if not, one of the GREATEST video games in history! It's also great to see others trying to revive it with different projects and even Nomura himself is bringing it into Kingdom Hearts. I've also noticed by the end of the trailer, both the protagonist and antagonist stare at each other down an empty road. The same way what Noctis and Stella did in one of the Versus XIII trailers. I hope this Reynatis game comes out of Japan! And hopefully we can get more projects based off of Final Fantasy Versus XIII. Yeah, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, A literal waste of potential gone, but not forgotten!

I guess this was the bad news Nomura said in the concert. Verum Rex got taken from him too.
I very much doubt this counts as "being taken away from him" when it's being written by, visually designed and composed for by his friends and colleagues. More likely, if this has anything to do with Versus/Verum Rex, this was his way of getting the project out there past all the red tape and blockage SE has put in his way up until now. That is, unless you think Nojima, Shimomura and Naora(all of whom work with him currently on FFVIIR and KHIV) would be comfortable going against his wishes to create a bootleg version of his passion project.
This really seems like the kind of thing lawsuits get started over, I don't actually know if it will with Nomura-san being friends with the developers.
Eh, I'm pretty sure Nomura gave them a greenlight, considering that Nomura is busy with both FF7 Rebirth, Remake Part 3, and KH4. Even if fans wanted him to make a Verum Rex game, he probably gave that all away to a different developer
