Located only a 24 Km away from Paris, The palace was originally built by Louis XIII as a hunting lodge. It wasn’t turned into a palace until Louis XIII’s son, the famous Louis XIV, decided to do so. The Château de Versailles housed the kings and queens of France until they were chased out in 1789 during the French Revolution. But luckily for us, the Palace of Versailles still stands in all its glory.

I had to take the RER L to the Rive Duate station in Versailles last time because the C line was closed due to the Seine being flooded at the time. It's a quieter line to Versailles, no crowds at all and the walk to the palace took10 to 15 minutes. SO you can take RER C or the RER L from the center of Paris. FYI.
Skipped the Vatican line with you guys in Rome and looking forward to touring with you guys in a few months in Paris!! Definitely want to visit Versailles.

Wish I had seen this video earlier. Was literally there last week and spent 2 hours in the line for Versailles. Well worth it though, Versailles is awesome!
I've done this before and I'm rewatching the video for nostalgia. Great content as always
Merci!!!
very good!
Hi. Where did you get that jacket? Very cool.
Public transportation looks time-consuming! I will definitely do your tour when I am in Paris.
It is not. There nothing as easy as going to Versailles by public transportation (C line, M9+171, L line, N line, U line from La Défense). I'd love to see way less tourims buses bringing people in our city and hideously filling the Place d'Armes parking. The same stands, indeed, with private cars and Uber-like taxis, that stop messily in front of the palace.
Please, pretty please, use public transportation to come and visit our city. And not only enjoy the Palace, but also enjoy the city of Versailles that features more points of interest than the Palace itself.
Is Uber faster? I took an Uber to Versailles from Paris during my first time
Is paris museum pass is valid in palace of Versailles
Make sure to keep that same ticket because you will need it to leave the station.
Yes indeed!
Do we have to validate this ticket before getting into the train, Thanks
You can't board the train without validation
Transilien L also goes to Versailles from Paris Saint-Lazare, but it goes to Versailles Rive-Droite which is at a 20 minute walk to the Chateau but I think you need a special ticket for that (not the RER C one that you mentioned in the video) also to get there I recommend buying a Navigo Decouverte card for 5 euro and then put a weekly pass for all zones, 1-5(23 euro as of 2019) and you just tap and go (the downside of this card is that is personal and you have to put a photo onto it, but there are photo booths at almost any station in Paris and 4 photos cost 4-5 euro, and you can only charge a weekly pass from Monday to Thursday).
The Navigo Ticket can only be bought on a Monday.
So does the Transilien N from Montparnasse train station (with special tickets as well, which you can easily buy at automated machines inside the Montparnasse station). The N line goes to the *third* staion of Versailles, namely Versailles-Chantiers, with, here also a 20 minutes walk (about 1km) which is kinda well indicated (and, anyway, Versaillans are usually quite keen to help tourists visiting our city).
can we travel to Versailles using Navigo Decouverte pass and not buy separate tickets.
Where are you traveling from to get to Versailles?
@@TheTourGuyVids from canopy Hilton hotel in Trocadero. Thanks
You can only buy the Navigo Ticket on Mondays
Paris is much more beautiful than London, frankly.
Ooooh you want to start a London vs Paris debate and I’m here for the comments!
I sit on the back off a Brompton bike bye a Indian guy from La Chapelle too versailles cost me 0.69 ct.
What are you trying to say? English please?
Bless your heart. You visited Paris and the simplest of French words, e.g.; “gauche,” which is utterly beyond your ability to pronounce correctly. Next, let’s try “Trianon.” Good, practical video which deserves better narration.
Bless your heart Charles, you’re a douche
