- Can't believe I p̶r̶o̶c̶r̶a̶s̶t̶i̶n̶a̶t̶e̶d waited 3 years to make this video!
Here I'm showing you everything about my life in Shanghai, China! Where I lived, where I studied, what I ate, what I was doing in general. I'm very excited to finally have this short movie I can watch anytime I want, because so far I have had zillions of different folders in which I had random video clips and thousands of photos I would probably never actually go through.
P.S: I made this video over the past 5 days, and it took me about 40(!!!!) hours to put everything together. That's insane.
Thanks for watching! :)
You definitely need to follow me on Instagram ✌️😉 / lennywinter_

hipsonsogbo What you believed is most likely not the truth. Don’t be so bias.
I studied in Fudan in the summer of 2016, this video definitely made me feel like I was back there. Thank you so much for the footage, it was amazing!
I don't usually make a comment on CZcams. But as a graduate of Fudan (Class 2007), and having lived in the US for almost 10 years, I have to say your video brought me back to my youth. Nice job!
Thanks a lot!!
Yeah, she sold her soul to the devil for an enjoyable student life in Shanghai.

Welcome to Shanghai. It's my birth town, but I actually live in Germany. Still, always super proud of the city especially when international students love the city too.
You are beautiful, like you very much 😊
Thanks for uploading this video, it brings back memories that I've in China during my 6 mths exchange there with my ex. I must say that Shanghai is truly a magical place, the rich diversity, culture, food and many of these that can't be described with words, it was the best time of my life there and there are days that I randomly zone out and remenisce about the time I've there
Thanks so much for making this fantastic video! I was doing my undergrad at Fudan from 2007 to 2011 and have not been back to the campus for so many years. Many places, restaurants, buildings, trees, and people look so familiar to me and reminded me of my best time there.
I loved this video! I studied in Fudan a long time ago and it was nice seeing video clips of the international students dorm and campus!
Thanks so much for this! I Will study in Shanghai for a few months next year, and this gave me Such a good insight of life there! Xx
such a cool video! and it's so nice that you still have footage of our street and the dorm! it really makes me miss Shanghai
Thanks! and I totally forgot I had this footage. I think it took me this long to make this video just because I assumed I didn't have enough footage to make something reasonable and it really upset me haha
I'm attending NYU in Shanghai next year and this was really great! It got me excited! Great job
I was a graduate of Fudan U back in the 80s. So it's interesting to see what Fudan campus looks like these day. Unfortunately
there isn't a single building I can recognize!
the whole city has no buildings you can recognize, lol
That's the new campus.
I exchanged there in 2013! You're video brought back so many memories! I was on the 18th floor too! (1809 I believe) I loved hanging out at Helen's. I was also lucky enough to get a scooter which made getting around fun and easy :)
spirt3r i used to study in Nanchang China we also used to go to helens a lot
I love China and I'll try my best to study abroad in China in the future. Still have a long way to go but I believe I can do it.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I am from China , but Study in Hungary, I would like to be a friend with you by Facebook, would you?
China welcome you !
@@user-gj3np5nm8u i'm hungarian.
Have you heard about the protest against the Fudan University yesterday?
@@user-gj3np5nm8u hello I also want to learn in china can u become my freind
Same❤️❤️ I’m a junior in high school now
This is so cool, the campus looks really nice. Thanks for making this video.
Thanks a lot for uploading this video! I went to Fudan last year and also lived in the main building so this video helped me remember more vividly my time there! Especially when you mentioned Helens! haha
This is awesome! I did an exchange program in Fudan in 2015. I was living in Tohee (at the other side of the street) literally you described my days in China. Walking in the same streets, the views, the cafeteria, the calm inside the campus, my student card is the same as 6:35 and I even met Roger from the Mom's place haha.
Thanks for doing this video and bringing good memories back!
OMG you were literally on the road that I always walk on when I go to China to visit my grandparents!😲 I’m aiming to go to Fudan when I’m old enough, so this really helped me!
Thank you! 😊
visiting next week and really appreciate your POV!
Such a cool video . . . love it
Nice video! It brings good memories of my time in Fudan; same places i used to go, same streets i used to walk...I miss Shanghai...
thank you for posting a Vlog of your experience in Shanghai, China, it was entertaining
Very nice narration. Very natural and very pleasant to listen to. Definitely a great video.
My father is the teacher of Fudan University so i grew up in this area. i really feel touching when i watching your video it just like daily life of myself
Loved this. Your best video ever!
Thanks a lot! I am happy with the outcome. I really didn't think I even had enough footage to come up with the most basic video, so I'm kind of amazed that this is what came out haha
Great video! Worth every one of the 40 hours!
Great video, had to check out your channel after your Shanghai vid. Great edits!
I spent 7 years at fudan u. It became a significant part of my life. I love it.
Cool video! Thanks for all the info! I'm looking to study at the TCM University in Shanghai next year once I finished my studies here in Canada for Acupuncture. Your video definitely got me excited! :)
Thanks for watching, good luck next year!
Wow! I like the video I was about to go to Shanghai and this video help me realise that Shanghai is the most beautiful place I can enjoy myself
Great video. I hope you were enjoying while you were there.
Great video, thanks for sharing!
I studied at Fudan a few eyars ago, this brings backl so many memories !
突然好想念以前生活中北京的大学的日子,充满青春的记忆
Thanks so much for this video! I'm going to spend the fall semester at Fudan, and watching this just made me look forward to it even more! :) I have one question though about the foreign student dorms: Did it get very cold inside in the winter? Or do they have good heating?
I'm sooo jealous, you're gonna have so much fun!!
As for the cold: I was freezing. The isolation was really bad and the heating in my room wasn't very good. Make sure you get a warm blanket.
Do you guys receive any financial support from the Chinese government for your study in Fudan?
Your smile just like the sunshine in the winter and cool wind in the somking hot summer.
It reminds me the days in fudan. thanks @Yeah, It's Pretty Awesome
Hey Lenny i really love watching your videos!!💕 I’m going to be a international student by next year and i always manifest having an interesting life just like you 😍💖
I’m so happy and excited for you!! 🥳🥳🩷🩷 best of luck ✨
long live peace and long live future of China
But with the motto of expansion of land and capturing the land of neighbouring countries China will not live longer their Your army's own act will lead to China's destruction
Thanks for this video. I live there (Wujiao Chang) and studied in Fudan Uni before while now I am in Au. Your video makes me miss my home
I had no choice but to sub! Clap yourself. This is an amazing video. soo much stuff in one clip. I will ask my Chinese friend if they have ever been here. lmao
Thank you!

Wooow. I used to study in Fudan as well. This brings so many memories! I lived in the Tonghe apartments though. It was so much fun! Thank for sharing this, now I feel bad I didn't film it for myself :)
Always love your videos.
As a graduate from Fudan, I liked your video. I studied at Fudan for 3 years. And am studying at Edinburgh Uni. Nice video.
Loved watching your video! It reminded me of my exchange i did during the autumn 2016 semester in Shanghai at SUFE! Did you went back to Shanghai after your exchange?
OMG!!!! This brings back soooo many memmories, graduated back in 2012 from there
Wasnt in shaghai though. But qingdao was pretty cool too
yeah FamilyMart was my favorite convenient store, too, it feels like no matter where you are in Shanghai, there's a FamilyMart less than 1 mile from you.
711,LAWSON HAHA!!!
Great video all the nostalgia coming up. I also went to Shanghai for a semester in 2013 but to Dong Hua and went back there for a year to work was an amazing time. How is your Chinese?
Awesome:) It's so great to see a tube blogger from FDU
It's so difficult to be admitted into Fudan University for chinese, it was my dream when I was 18.
Have you studied there as a scholar?
@@MAX-no4ih No, That was a dream and a pity, I'm now studying in France
Wow nice! Are you a scholar there in France?
@@MAX-no4ih no cuz I'm a foreigner
I am going to china for a project on july 1st! thank you for this awesome video; can't wait to go to china and have lots of fun exploring the land and culture, btw you are very beautiful! :)
lovely video! campus is beautiful
Brings back memories...
Very cool video! I will be going to Shanghai this summer to Fudan to study Chinese. Could you explain the situation with the phone, because I hopefully want my phone to work! Thanks in advance!
The phone itself was fine, it was probably a problem with my carrier. It was 3.5 years ago so I don't remember exactly, but I assume that we wanted to deactivate my SIM card after I arrive in China so that I don't get charged for calls abroad, but there was probably a misunderstanding that resulted in my SIM not working earlier than planned. I got the Chinese SIM the next day and everything worked perfectly :)
+Yeah, It's Pretty Awesome Wow, my roommate ever studied Chinese in Fudan Uni like 5 yrs ago. Btw, you are still in China right now?
Trevor Stinson Connect with wechat through internet
Hey Trevor,
I studied at Fudan this Summer also lol
I got a germany sim card and when i came back to china ,it still worked but u need to pay much more than chinese local sim card! There r many free wifi-set in airpot and railway station, if u have problems of Phoncall, u can go there to get free wifi for searching city-map and trying to contact ur friends with whatsapp ,QQ,skype, wechat blablabla(but no FB )!!! of course u can buy a local sim card a day after arraving, but remember, most Chinese local sim card dont support INTERNATIONAL ROAMING,so that might be a Problem ! For international roaming of phoncall , u need go to China Telecom and then activate the service of international phoncall. (I think ,that u can communicate ur family with skype instead of god damm international roaming call)
Nice video! I left Shanghai in 1994, it has changed a lot.
I work nearby Fudan campus, I often goto Fudan for lunch because it's really cheap, less than 10RMB most of time.
Can you choose which floor to live on if you‘re there before the other students?
光华楼 looks so familiar! 😊 A new commercial center was built in WuJiaoChang last year. And your mandarin is very good!
wow thanks! and can't wait to check out that commercial center myself haha they have so many tho
Amazing video!!!❤️ I study in fudan too
the sky is so clear. at the beginning video.
I’m planing to teach English in China in March. Great video. Thanks for sharing.
Colin Hall that's awesome, I'm going to go to China to teach English in September :D I can't wait, 3 month left till I start. I am trying to study a bit of Chinese though before I go. I finished HSK 1 so far.
Awesome video! I'm planning to study Chinese in China but I'm not sure where I want to go, btw, was it hard to get accepted in FU?
This is so cool + awesome + incredible! and that makes me miss Shanghai...
Thank you! and I miss it too!
very nice! thanks for uploading
How did you get a room in the main building? Can you choose it yourself? They are kinda prestigious compared to the supplementary ones.
I was at Tongji University that same year! So many good memories :-)
glad to see my hometown (I grew up in Yangpu district) on a utube channel!
awesome video!I actually visited Fudan University months ago:D
Nice video. It's so close to me home and I had lots of memory in Fudan Uni.
I like your video! Shanghai is a beautiful city and I like it. Hope you can make more videos.
You remind me my life back there in Shanghai! If I'm correct, when you're studying Mandarin in Fudan, I was studying GRE in Shanghai to get ready for my master's program in the U.S. haha
Stunning video
I live 5 minutes away from ur campus and wujiaochang changes so much since this video
life is so short, what a great time you having :)
I'm thinking of doing my master degree in Shanghai, was it hard for you to apply for a scholarship at fudan university?
This was a cool recap. Makes me want to make one to look back on studying in Spain but unfortunately I lost all the footage 😬
Thanks! and noooo that's so unfortunate! always take good care of your pics and videos! hehe that's what's left after the adventure is over!
Yeah, It's Pretty Awesome ughhh don't remind me haha. I was dumb & didn't have a backup. I accidentally spilled water & destroyed my laptop 😬. Have all my footage from my trip to SE Asia that I just completed backed up in multiple places haha.
I accidentally deleted the footage from my last day of Singapore, where I actually shot all the places I've been to, but like in a nice, cinematic way for the purpose of making a video. It still bothers me haha
Ahh that's the worst. I mean I was able to get over it since it was my very first footage & wasn't nearly as well shot haha. Just moving forward & making more videos haha. You'll just have to go back to Singapore!
Hello! i’m attending the fall semester this year. Could you tell me more about the dorm booking process? And also, which side of the building would you recommend for the single room? Thank you!
I studied in Fudan for one semester in 2006 and then again in 2012. Best experience ever! Wudong lu for life!
Wudong Lu forever! ❤️🔥
I'm heading to Fudan for the Spring semester and am deciding between staying at Tohee Student Village or Fudan's international dorms like you did, which would you recommend? :)
Really good video! I have a question though! I am also planning to go study at Fudan uni and live on campus (in the dorms). I just wanted to ask, Is there a curfew? For example, if I go out at night do I need to be back in the dorm by a certain time?
No, there was no curfew when I lived there. You just needed to sign your name and room number at the gate I think after midnight, or after 2am, don't remember exactly. Good luck with your studies!
Thankyou so so much for responding!!!!!!
Cool, thanks for this!
gosh! your chinese accent is abnormally good!
Wow, thank you!
lovely! good vids ) where are you from btw? just curious!
i love your English , i will listen to your English to practice my listening thanks!
What a great video! I’m going to China next month for three months for internship and need a perspective. I’m nervous about the clothing as I was told you can’t show your shoulders but I can see you wore a singlet? Any other advice on what to wear in the hot summer months??
wow congrats on your internship!! I think any shirt with short sleeves would be fine, depending on your office dress code. Then you can wear it with some flowy pants or skirt and it's gonna be fine. Remember that you have AC indoors (including metro, malls, etc), so you might actually want to grab a sweater with you just in case :) Good luck!!
I think you need a hand-held stabilizer to keep your video image stable.
Good video Lenny!!! 2013...hmmm I was just graduated lol..i still living in here and just made a video about "shanghai city review" lol
Cool vid! the studying tuition was on a CI scholarship ? I did a similar program last year, only in Beijing, and it was for a month. Waiting to graduate so I can do my year long studying Chinese.
Also, Pesach Sameach :)
Mate definitely revisit Shanghai again any time soon haha, the disney resort is the best out of the world.
Awesome video!
Wow, amazing hope you will come to China again!
awesome, I was a Chinese student in fudan university. Everything is so familiar to me
Very informative!!...Nice one
Ive been going to shanghai all my life, im in college now and im wondering what kind of program you went through to study there? It was just through your university or what?
Pretty cool and interesting video.
Absolutely 100% know what you mean by the Chinese not really understanding the concept of an "ABC". I'm (pretty much) an ABC as well, I don't live in China, but I really felt this when I travelled China for 2 weeks last year. I could really feel it from my conversations and interactions with them because I was with a group of ABCs and some of us couldn't speak Chinese, and you could just tell they were REALLY confused and just thought, "wtf? how does that work??"
I can imagine that you rarely ever meet any other ABCs in Shanghai and any that you do meet are either tourists, or from the US (as opposed to Aussie ABCs!). Hope you're enjoying yourself over there!
Wayne See She is Russian. She’s from Europe.
Hey! Next year I plan to go to Fudan for 10 month with HSK3, can I ask from ehat level to what level did you improve in that year? Also, did you get homesick? Did it seem too long? Would you like to go back?
I was at Shanghai last week.. visiting your video I still there .. very cool informations to young people who wants visit Shanghai.. tsk a lot ! a kiss from Brasil...
I will be there the next week, greetings from morocco
great video, wish you could have another chance to go back there!
