thank you, way easier than it looks tbh, had a little trouble soldering those 2 capacitors but i did it
The 120 dislikes are from the Nintendo Ninjas
It’s 12 dislikes
Or im lagging
My advice for those new to soldering is when soldering to those SMD caps, do one side and let it cool for a bit so you don't over heat it and knock it off. If you knock off those caps it's a bear trying to solder them back in place.
just ordered my modchip from ali will keep u updated on how it goes when installed! thanks for the video really helpful.
Sounds good, make sure to practice and take your time
Can you provide a link please? I cant seem to find it
Dont forget to cut the shield too so the moschip fits when closed up.
I still can't believe my v2 was so simple and easy the first time me ever trying. I just knew I was going to screw it up but I didn't. I highly recommend some type of magnifying glass so you can see what you're actually doing.
Yes, when I first doing them I just used my phone to zoom in, there is also microscope apps you can get for free.
No need to bend open the locks, use a plastic tool for that. Using a needle may damage the PCB. Use kapton tape to secure the other caps, so you won't solder them by chance.
wow this looks so much easier than oled switch, great tutorial too
Yes it is, I hated the oled mod!
Hi, can you tell me what soldering wire did you used?
You can use capton tape to cover caps in between so you dont short them
Yer heard someone say that before, it's a good tip
Bro! Your video is the best for those who are trying it for the first time. I made a mistake because I used the wrong cable since my Nintendo is v2 and I used the v1 cable, I think that is for the oldest one. When I turn on my Nintendo the screen turns on but it doesn't show anything. Do you think that if I remove the cable and put in the correct one it will work?
You have done well to solder the wrong cable on? if you disconnect it all and put the nand back on it should boot if nothing has blown.
when i plug my RP2040-NS chip to my pc it lights up blue, then flashes green a few times, but nothing pops up. Does the same thing when I put it in the switch but nothing happens any suggestions ???
Hi! nice video!
Is it necessary to use a microscope or can it be done without one?
When I started installing mod chips I used the camera zoom on my phone, it works just looses a bit of picture quality
Thanks for the video. It was very well detailed. I followed it through, but I made a mistake and the right cap on the board came out. Would you know a solution to this? Can I still use the console like that if I abort the mission? Or did I just destroy the console? =/
I'm not sure if it will work without. I would recommend buying a faulty board and getting a replacement off that?
I have a cheap soldering iron. Is it possible or do I need a special one and what kind of tip do I need?
Depends how well it solders, does it have an accurate tip, and are you any good?
Someone who is good at soldering can use lesser tools but if your not its going to be an expensive mistake.
I started with all of the cheapest items and only now am I getting slightly better but its all still on a budget.
I just got the V2 Switch, so this will come handy :)
Take your time, if not confident practice beforehand. Its all about not having the iron on the chips too long or the chips come loose!
@@fixingmoddingbuilding I hope I get make it this time, I failed with switch lite.
Hi. What do you do after adding the mod chip? Is there instruction on how to do the software side? Thanks.
I had a video but it is outdated now as the big N shut the website down, could take a look at this one though: czcams.com/video/9trK8H-ZLg4/video.html
@@fixingmoddingbuilding Okay I will try this. Thank you!
Just knocked this out successfully thanks to you! Much appreciated!!
Thanks, glad it helped
Oooh a v2 version
I did this install on a switch lite got the green light everything seems okay, but I didn’t get the no sd card screen? Any advice?
Edit: just noticed to connected battery different video I saw connected cable, will test in morning with update
Update: was due to the battery not being connected
Nice video, after the modchip install, my Switch is giving Error 2002-3540 when accessing the Stock firmware, emunand works properly. Do you have any idea how to fix this issue?
Never seen it sorry, Google seems to hint a potential emmc issue but I'm not sure
Will this work on my patched Switch? Do you have a link to where I can get the parts needed?
Yes v1/v2. Just search aliexpress for rp2040
Hello, should I use leaded or lead-free solder when installing one of these?
Leaded bro
Buen dia bro, en que formato debe de estar la SD de 250gb para instalar los datos 8.00 de manera correcta? o solo basta con darle formato desde la consola??? 🤠✌
Watch this video, recommend setting up emunand too.

So if i buy a chip that doesnt have the software what adapter do i need to be able to connect it to the pc
It will come with a usb connection
Friend, what happened to me happened at 8.20 minutes into the video. How do I flash the chip? I already checked the welding and it's fine! Thanks in advance

If i loose golden part on flex while soldering does the flex wont work?
Yer probably won't work as that's the solder point
I am also considering modding mywitch, is the process easy?
Depends if you can solder? If not I would advise doing a lot of practice prior.
Do you need to replace boot0 and cmd resistors to 100ohm?
No
Also, I was thinking that you can try to mod the Lite model next time. They are tricky too.
Yes, trying to buy a faulty one to fix then to mod but not many cheap ones on ebay!
couldn't you just cut and place section of kapton tape beforehand that protects the capacitors near where you're soldering?
Yes, or just go a bit slower
Hey whats up, I am really looking forwards to getting one of these chips but I dont know where to buy it. Could you tell me which one you have? Thanks in advance
Search aliexpress for rp2040
@@fixingmoddingbuilding how do I know its the correct one?
@@the_xyzs what version switch do you have, then pick
@@fixingmoddingbuilding I have V2 switch but on the sale page it only says NS and doesn’t specify if it’s v1 or v2 so are they both compatible?
@@the_xyzs they come with the cable for both v1 /v2
what do i need to download to my sd card after installing the mod chip

Hi bro. I think i made a mistake 😢. When soldering, i use too much lead, so it have connection between 2 edges. After install. I turn on to test, chip is turn on blue and them blink green 3-4 times. Display is off and cpu hot. Can I repair or have to buy a new one ☹️
You need to probably go back to the beginning, take cable off, remove bridges. Lots of flux will help the solder flow
Thanks Bro. I fixed it
Hi I've just ordered 1 of these can I use the v1 ribbon on my v2 switch
Probably not, the version number is there for a reason?
@@fixingmoddingbuilding I'm new to this as you can tell if there's no software on chip is it easily obtainable
@@anthonyhowson7165 so chips you solder to are different on v1 /v2 so need to use correct connector.
The chip software is linked in top comment
Does it work on the cloned versions of the chip I got a rp2040-ns chip as it was the cheapest option for me I thank you for the help
@@anthonyhowson7165 should do
What temperature for the soldering iron?
320c
@@fixingmoddingbuilding thanks - i did it, works fine!
maybe it's easier with solder paste? Or it's not suitable ?
I think the hot air might damage the cable?
@@fixingmoddingbuilding yeah for sure, but you can use your soldering iron on solder paste. I'm a real begginer so maybe i'm wrong and it's hardest with solder paste. If you don't know, I will try on a HS motherboard
the advantages that I see are that we can apply the solder paste more precisely, and certain solder pastes have the particularity of melting at low temperatures, so this limits the risk of burning the surrounding components I Guess
@@Verrattinho the chip does get extremely hot, not sure temps but this could come into effect?
What kind of flux do I need?
I use kingbo from aliexpress but it's up to you
Does the chip come preconfigured?
Some do, some dont, will link a video in top comment on how to do if not.
you know what would help? >>>>??????>>>>> writing down what for the mod is, ie psx ps1 or whatever no info on it
If you know mod chips you don't need it writing down.....???? > []
Failed twice trying to solder for the first time. Burnt the capacitors too so I can’t try a third time 😂 at least it turns on still. Want to fix it? Haha
At least it's still going 👍
What Kind of microscope is that?

No I didn't 🤣🤣👍
Bro Nintendo switch lite how to mod
I've been trying to get a lite for a while now, there over priced all the ones in looking at so until I can get a cheap one!
I have the chip ready to install though.
I dont know if i have the v1 or v2 yet. I already got my chips. What i want to know is if i can use the black electrical tape instead of that yellow one because i cant find it anywhere.
It's to to stop shorts but also you don't want to keep it getting too warm either
