    Thank you for the assembly MK4 assembly video series. My 10yo son and I could not have assembled the 3D printer w/o the videos.❤. Being 3D printer newbies, We used the instructions to gather the parts before each step and your video to help with the assembly. The Prusa MK4 is working perfectly, thank you!

    Thank you so much for this guide! I had built an MK3S+ and a Mini+ previously, but for some reason I had a rough time following the official MK4 assembly manual. Your videos were invaluable in the whole process, and saved me from a few critical mistakes. Cannot thank you enough!

    Thank you! We could not have assembled our MK4 without these videos. We only ran into one issue with the Yaxis calibration ...which we managed to fix by going back and adjusting the bearings.

    Thanks to your great but above all clear video series, I managed to put everything together correctly in one go. I turned on the printer and everything works perfectly. Thank you for all the time you put into the video series. As a thank you, a small contribution to the next series of great videos.

    Your videos are very well made, and are an excellent resource for building the MK4. I just built mine from kit this week, and your videos were invaluable for demonstrating some of the harder-to-see connection routes for the cables and belts. THANK YOU.

    Excellent series of videos, thanks. There is one very important step you didn't mention in this video around 1:20. You put the two wires on the heatbed with two M3x10 screws and locknuts, slightly loose for "adjustment space", but you never showed the final tightening of the two screws and locknuts which would most likely be VERY DANGEROUS! Perhaps you can edit the video to show the screws getting tightened.

    Thanks for a fantastic video. I used this to build my mk4.
    But…..
    From firmware 5.0.1 things have changed. If you place the ‘Y’ axis bearings as you mentioned it will fail when you come to calibrate it. Prusa have acknowledged this but not updated the video.
    To fix this you need to place the bearings on the ‘Y’ axis as follows.
    Single bearing on the right needs to be placed centred as in your video. The black seals on the bearing line up with the metal bracket that holds it in place.
    The 2 bearings on the left must be placed as follows or it will fail a calibration test if you are running firmware 5.0.1 or greater.
    The bearing closest to the lcd needs to be placed centrally like the bearing you just fitted. The bearing towards the back need to be place with the back flush with the bracket holding it. When placing it this way you will see a lot of the bearing showing towards the middle.
    Tighten the nuts but make sure the bearings run smoothly.
    If you have already built this printer and down want to fit the bearings as mentioned but it has failed on a calibration. All you need to do is this:
    Download the very first firmware for the printer. Run the calibration it will pass all the tests (the older firmware is forgiving) then flash the latest firmware. As long as you don’t run a calibration you can keep on updating the firmware. But once you do a calibration it will fail again and you will have install the old firmware to get it calibrated.
    Also if you have fitted the mmu3 installing the old firmware won’t work so you will need to fit the bearings as I have mentioned above.

    Great Job, I watched all these videos in the series. This feels like the Prusa MK4 assembly manual in video form. Prusa could have paid someone to make this and it would basically look exactly like yours!. Amazing job.

    Extremely helpful videos! I will say do not do the tightening trick with the lock washer, the walls inside the part are to thin to keep it from spinning in the hole and getting stuck. Happened to me and it wasnt all the in yet

    I'm extremely thankful for these videos. You are great! If I may add something, it would be very good to recommend at 10:00 to clear the holes of the y-carriage that you are going to screw the y-belt holders to. Mine were not properly made and I could not screw the holders in place. I could somewhat get them in position but then it was too late and I could not screw them tighter nor remove them any longer, so supported instructed me to break the holders to be able to remove the screws and clear the holes.
    Anyway, I'm sad because I can't finish my build until replacements are sent, but still THANKS!

    Apprently a lot of people in the coments are saying that the instructions were wrong about positioning the two bearings closer to the center and that it's causing Y check failures. See the comments on that section of their site. Did you have issues with that?

    • @iftibashir
      @iftibashir  Před 3 měsíci

      Mine is built exactly as shown in this video and I’ve had no issues at all so far [touch wood!]…..

  • @LyndanTylor
    @LyndanTylor Před 3 měsíci +1

    The part about aligning the belt "length-ways" confused me so much. I had no idea what I was supposed to be aligning, and after reading tons of comments on the section of the official instructions, I'm even more confused because so many people had issues here, using "shims" to adjust, and even printing a modified version of the printed part attached to the Y motor.
    I eventually decided the alignment was regarding the belt's position on the "y axis motor pulley", the cylinder with the teeth connected to the motor which pulls the belt... But I'm still confused because the picture on the site and the belt on your build in the video BOTH show the belt all the way to left, not centered... And that's what mine looks like as well. So that's correct?

    • @iftibashir
      @iftibashir  Před 3 měsíci +1

      The belt should be completely aligned from the front of the printer all the way to the back - so the motor pulley needs to move so that the belt is straight an don't installed slightly slanted.

    • @LyndanTylor
      @LyndanTylor Před 3 měsíci

      I finally finished it last night. I centered the bearings I mentioned earlier and I don't really understand the belt alignment still, but praise God it all worked out perfectly and my first prints came out awesome. Thanks for your help and for your work on these videos!! Watching your series along with following the official guide and reading the comments on each step was the way to go!

    I have a question to your power supply. Is your plastic part, where switch and cable input is placed on also so wobbly?
    If I just wiggle at the cable a bit, it falls out. I can push as hard as I want, but it wont insert fully.

    • @iftibashir
      @iftibashir  Před 5 měsíci

      You mean the plastic part that covers the connections? If so, no mine seems to fit reasonably tight.

    • @julian_loewe1977
      @julian_loewe1977 Před 5 měsíci +1

      I have solved it. The power cable was not fully insertet in the power supply. I had to push really rellay hard (I thought I would break it) to get it in like it is suppoet to be. @@iftibashir
      And thanks for your Video Tutorial. I assembled my MK4 just by your Videos 😊
