    Really great to see an enthusiasts modified big bore Interceptor! I have also switched to the YSS Topline Z rear shocks and front fork kit and I went with Hitchcock's Enfield stainless steel silencers. The handling and sound are at a new level. The front forks no longer dive a lot and quickly.

    What a crazy world we live in when our illustrious leaders believe they can dictate what modifications we can and can’t do to items we own. That’s corporate power. We can end the madness if we stopped fighting amongst ourselves and concentrate on them. We give them the power. Btw, great build. 👍👍

    Simi-logical! lol I was a administrator at a school in SE Oklahoma. The school colors were red, black, and white with the mascot being The Warriors. Every year they had a parade in the spring for Warrior week. If you were in it with proper vintage Warrior garb(aka Indian headdress with a old set of leathers). Well "Mam" would have been a hit. lol I like it a lot.

    Hi Michael. Can’t tell you how glad I was to watch your video on this lovely REBB. Without you fella’s giving us blokes and I dare say some bloke’ess’s the low down on your progress of that gorgeous machine. That’s my kind of bike behind the Z900rs of course. I stopped toting up the cost of pure enjoyment at the £4700 mark. Thanks for taking the time to give us bikers the low down on your REBB. She’s a keeper but if you feel you get the urge to say one day you’ll be selling her then I don’t mind having 1st refusal. Bank account and sort code on application. It’s nice to know I’ll be going up that wooden hill happy that you’re happy with this lovely REBB you’ve shown to the world. P.S. it’s 04:45 on Saturday morning and watching in peace and quiet without her indoors pecking my head. PPS TAKE NO NOTICE OF THOSE THAT SAY “WHY BOTHER” bye for now.

    Very well filmed & presented (just a little boo boo around the cylinder liners & cam bit). Nice neat rear end work. I think you're in a good 'bang for buck' area. I feel that I want other road users to see the indicators even when they're off so they know I'm not turning, but the stealth ones do give a nice clean retro look.
    For those interested there's a Facebook group called 'Royal Enfield Big Bore'.

      😂 Well spotted . Filmed a couple of versions and sometimes that makes it harder to keep continuity . I will see how I get on with the indicators . Was about to ask…… then Q&A answered it, and brilliantly. Another Vlogger (big) lauded how cheap the RE was and the went on to spend a fortune to get it right. I pointed out that they could have simply bought a Speed Twin. Didn’t get a response, but the same question was on my mind until the Q&A. Think your rationale might have held more water!

    Honest, enjoyable video. I've had 2 Triumphs, a Bonnie 790 then a Sprint ST. Looks good I thought about doing the big bore but haven't pulled the trigger on that because I don't think I could do that myself. Hitchcock motorcycles in the UK sell a kit with the cylinders you just have to put it all together. I've done a lot of changes to my Interceptor and it's addictive . I too have YSS front a back the switch gear/ front master cylinder /sintered pads/Hitchcocks headers with S&S cans. New Domino race throttle which you would like on your bike with the big bore kit for sure. The rear sets are changed the indicators head light bracket I don't know how much weight I lost on the bike but I 'm sure it comes to a good savings. Decided to get new tank the red and black I like but not the white between the colors. Going for the chrome your bike looks good good luck with her. Cheers

      Always rebuild it years & years later & early models like Euro 4 will be sought after in future.Could add a power commander or powertronic in future.
      Alot of people are criticis on a job like this & will say "You could of got a Triumph" but only a T100 & like you said you didn't want one or had them.I love the idea of a 865 Interceptor that out performs a T100 but has the ultra smoothness of Interceptor gearbox & fueling & you're not one of many.

    • @MrJulianneave
      @MrJulianneave Před 2 lety +3

      @@ruahinesrider the stock clutch doesn't seem to handle the extra torque from what I've heard. I upgraded my clutch when I did the big bore kit, and honestly the only downside of the big bore upgrade for me is that the upgraded clutch (Rekluse brand) has more drag when disengaged due to having more plates. This means that you unfortunately lose some of the super slickness of the original gearbox, which is mainly noticeable when trying to go to N from 1st when not moving. It's a bit disappointing but that's the price you pay I suppose.

    • @ruahinesrider
      @ruahinesrider Před 2 lety +1

      @@MrJulianneave Maybe a 750 be able to keep stock clutch & keep smoothness but be hard not to go 865 though.Actually be interesting to find out stats & differences between them I might look into it.

    • @MrJulianneave
      @MrJulianneave Před 2 lety +1

      @@ruahinesrider I'm not sure, but I think that you'd probably need upgraded clutch for 750 as well. If considering doing this, also don't underestimate the benefits of having the more common 865 setup as far as tuning and community support goes. O think you'd have much more trouble finding people to share fuel/ignition maps with etc for a 750 and may be harder to find a starting point for tuning.

    Thanks for this video, beautiful bike there! I put the identical YSS fork kit in my 2020 650INT and would like to add that the weight of the fork oil is how the damping is adjusted; the emulators regulate flow of lighter or heavier oil.

    I think what you’ve done is modified the bike to achieve what you want from it and I think that it’s cock on! Can’t rationally justify the spend but don’t see you need to, it’s going give you so much pleasure. I’ve gone equally crazy on my 2021 Enfield 500 trails it’s now 615cc with all sorts of lovely other stuff on it, makes 35bhp and 42ft/lbs of torque. £3000 spent and I love it.
    Some people blow £8-10,000 on a holiday that lasts 2 weeks, our spend will give us years of pleasure. Total justification!
