Apparently Freddie had Vocal Nodules AND laryngitis. His Doctors advised him not to perform. I and millions of others, I'm quite sure, are EXTREMELY gratified that he chose to ignore them.....
He had a sore throat, nothing permanent. He ignored his doc and went on stage. And yes, 1.4 billion people across the globe witnessed one of his best performances. I was lucky enough to be at that Live Aid gig, and their success was something that couldn't ever be put across on TV or the movie. Every person to the very back of the stadium was clapping, hands in the air to radio Gaga, and swaying to We are the Champions. I looked back and could honestly say I did not see one single person not participating. I have been to over a hundred gigs, most of the big groups, and never, ever seen that commitment from a crowd before, not at any gig ever, and especially at one with 90,000 people. Queen actually sent out a roadie to buy giant clocks to put in front of them, so they could time their performance down to the second. While most bands at Live Aid got in 1-3 songs, Queen pulled off 5 songs in a near-medley due to them timing every single move they made down to the last possible second. From what I've watched of some of Freddie's interviews plus various song lyrics - the supernatural he appealed to was, unfortunately, not a good one...to say the least. I'm fan of Queen's music and enjoy watching him perform but....there was a very dark side to his life. I've read that he was never really happy.
I love how this performance is way better than most of the ,,best'' performances these days and it doesn't seem that Freddie is even trying :D They stole Live Aid because of these rehearsals. Other bands didn't try to do their best in Live Aid, they just wanted to have fun at that concert, but Queen knew that Live Aid is their ticket to the top again and they did their best :)
You'd like to say this was "effortless" for Freddie, but you can see he puts in maximum effort. A man that never quit, until shit finally got the better of him.
Love how Freddie was always smiling when he sang and teased the audience. He gave it all in his performances for his fans! Yes Freddie, we think of you every day, love you forever!
To those saying the rehearsal was not necessary - The rehearsal was necessary as Queen realised that rehearsing the edits and transitions to fit it all into a compact flowing set were just as important as the songs (which they knew). This showed on the day and made the set slick and show up the others who had just sung their songs without this extra work.

They are all awesome!!!
From what I've watched of some of Freddie's interviews plus various song lyrics - the supernatural he appealed to was, unfortunately, not a good one...to say the least. I'm fan of Queen's music and enjoy watching him perform but....there was a very dark side to his life. I've read that he was never really happy.
You must read the Roger Morneau's book about his trip into the supernatural. It's obviously.
Even legends still practicing👍🏼👌🏼👑maybe this is why they stole the show!!
ciputat gal it is why.
Never tire of watching this!
0:10 Freddie’s spin brings me so much joy! And to think - this was just rehearsal.
One thing I love about Freddie is even though he rehearses everything backstage, near enough everything is improvised on stage
You'd like to say this was "effortless" for Freddie, but you can see he puts in maximum effort. A man that never quit, until shit finally got the better of him.
Beautiful 😍 forever farrok bulsara😍
Love how Freddie was always smiling when he sang and teased the audience. He gave it all in his performances for his fans! Yes Freddie, we think of you every day, love you forever!
4:54 John realizing that Live Aid will be epic for Queen and millions of people watching them perform... ^^

Thank you for the video. I want to cry
6 years ago I was in the car with my dad and he played queen and now I’m obsessed, and I’m so happy he played bro. LOVE YOU FREDDIE😍❤️
