  • 35 years ago today, the greatest concert of all time took place. This rare footage shows absolutely fascinating, never-seen-before insights into the backstage preparations and activities before, during and after the show. It features many of the world’s most renowned music artists rubbing shoulders and uniquely captures the excitement of the day.
Live Aid was organised by Bob Geldof and Midge Ure to raise funds for the Ethiopian famine disaster. Broadcast across the world via one of the largest satellite link-ups of all time, the concerts were seen by around 40% of the global population.

Very poignant. You can sense the mixed feelings from Quo & Geldof - excitement tinged with a sense of anti-climax. They'd been on stage for one of the greatest shows ever and yet it all was so brief for them. They just wanted to go back on stage and play.

Never has there been a collection of artists coming together like this, and I doubt I’ll see it again in my lifetime. It was like the world stopped to see the power of music. It’s now 2022, and with the amount of crap going on in the world today, we could sure use another moment like this one. God bless all of these artists for helping such a great cause and bringing our global family together to smile and create such a remarkable moment in rock and roll history.

The 80's were definitely the best decade ever! The world was good...people respected one another and for the most part....we all had smiles on our faces

Over 35 years, if I believed everyone who said they were there, Wembley Stadium would've had 5 million people in it!
