    I was so waiting for your review of XM5, I have been watching so many review videos of various headphones but no one does it like your team does the review. The last part about being not optimized, i dint knew what it meant and am glad you explained what it is, i have watched so many videos but none of them mentioned about this not optimized factor. They just do a basic call test and give their conclusion. Things like this make your channel unique and trustworthy . i wish that your channel grows , its so underrated.

    Best review ever, I have a suggestion, please make separate segment, instead of one segment (speaker test) for each music as per the device. Like XM5 (song1), XM4 (Song1), Xm5 song 2, and Xm4 song 2.. so that I can easily listen specific music for specific device to do a quick comparison, same can be done for mic test.

      Hey blaMNA could you tell me: The XM5 is a BIG step up for phone calls over the XM4 right? Especially in cafés. It sounds like that from these tests. How is your experience?

    • @BlaMNA1
      @BlaMNA1 Před měsícem

      @@bluecoffee8414 Hi!
      It is that good, like on these tests. Arguably the most important feature of the XM5.
      Can't speak for cafes in particular, because I don't talk on the phone in closed public spaces.
      I use it at home, work and on the street. I am basically can take the call at any place on the street, including next to busy road - people still can hear me, and i don't need to raise my voice, to be heard. In half a year, i heard "what did you said?" just about 3 times in total (was about 1-2 per DAY on XM4).
      This is great experience improvement for person on other side of the call. On XM4 my brother could hear me walking in circles in soft wool (!) slippers on hard floor, or xbox gamepad stick clanking, but no more on XM5.
      Noise cancelling can let through other people voices -- if i cross the street with other people, caller can pick up voices, but not cars or anything else.
      Cuts off running water sound almost completely - i can talk on the phone doing dishes. It's amazing.
      Lower white noise in ANC mode, when it is quiet around you. More effective than XM4 in loud areas also.
      Connection to devices in multipoint mode considerably quicker. It felt half baked on XM4, but feels good now.
      Also touch panel is REALLY responsive. Best I have ever experienced.
      From XM4 to XM5 call quality is on next level hands down (also on some points above).
      But there are some big drawbacks in other fronts:
      1. Black plastic picks up fingerprints like no tomorrow - i start my morning with cleaning headphones with dump cloth and polishing with dry one. They are oily all the time. Never seen anything like this - worst plastic in this term of my life.
      2. Non discrete headband regulation was a problem to adjust - head started to ache after an hour of use, but i eyeballed setting at the end.
      3. Cups folds in wrong direction, while wearing on the neck. They are basically open to collect street dust.
      4. Lighter than XM4 - it's good for comfort. Also I am less confident in durability, feeling like i need to baby them.
      5. Carrying case is downgrade for sure. It's bigger, have very small difficult to operate zip.
      If you are considering them for gaming - don't. The are using bluetooth, that means on call it splits bandwidth 50/50 for audio and for voice, so audio is bad while you talking. Not headphones problem -- it is the technology limitation for bluetooth in general. I use mine with dedicated wired mic on Discord, so i could have normal sound quality.
      In the end - it was 50/50 satisfaction in general. Call quality is very important to me - I using it everyday. If i didn't - i wouldn't recommend them over XM4.

      Would love to see that. The whole “oh it’s not optimized” might not really matter. And judging from this mic test, the XM5s crushed the “business” headset in voice isolation. I don’t care about being able to answer zoom calls from a headset, mic quality and blocking out background noise is way more important.

    • @HeadsetAdvisor
      @HeadsetAdvisor  Před rokem

      @@appledes7 Not being optimized isn't a deal breaker in some cases, but many customers do need this feature to do their job better, and it's a deal breaker to them if the headset doesn't have this capability. The mic test comparison in this video is only one comparison of many other possible headsets. Our perception from this specific comparison is, you either go with the one that blocks out more background noise, but sounds like you're in a fish bowl (XM5). Or you go with the one that sounds way better for mic quality, but doesn't block out as much background noise (Tilde Pro).
      We're fans of Sony by the way, but definitely wouldn't steer clients this way for a business application.

    • @appledes7
      @appledes7 Před rokem +2

      Totally fair points. Would love to see a comparison of this with some of those other business oriented headsets. In a world with record remote work where people having crying babies in the house, dogs, spouses on calls in another room, I think voice isolation is becoming a major feature for headphones. And at least for me, is the number 1 feature I’m looking for given that there are kids in the house while I’m working.

      @@doncarroll1070 Definitely! The XM4's and 5's are an awesome pair of headphones. With the updated microphones of the XM5's it was clear they made improvements in that area. The good thing is you do have the app though to further adjust the EQ settings though for more bass, like the XM4's. We didn't think to test them for movie quality but that's great feedback for future videos. We can imagine how good they sound.

They don't allow for long conversations and as you said, some things on a computer don't work with it. The things it can do is allow you to talk on a phone easily and use CZcams easily but, virtual conversations on somethings don't work.

      Also, aside from the microphone there's many other factors to consider when it comes to choosing the right headset when you're on calls or meetings for a living.
      For example, XM5 doesn't have sidetone and because the speakers do such a good job to block out noise, it's also hard to hear your own voice. Which feels weird and can come across to others like you're yelling.
