Can the hot and cold water lines that supply the tub and shower be pex? I recently had a leak in the copper supply line at one of the joints inside the wall that supplied the toilet. The original plumbing in the bathroom was all copper and about 40 years old. I have replaced the water lines that feed the toilet and sink with pex. Can I replace my tub and shower lines with pex? You’re welcome.
Yes, they sure can be pex as long as your local plumbing code allows pex (and it is widely accepted as things are moving heavily in that direction). I have another video on the DIY Boomers channel that goes over installing a new Delta Multichoice shower valve. It may or may not help you that much since I used copper for the little bit that had to be replaced in our copper supply lines.
Also, transitioning from copper to pex is very easy as just about any connector that you can think of is available with copper on one side and pex on the other. The Delta valve that I used can be purchased with pex inlets and I assume most valves are similar.
Is that a “curbless” base that you installed?

Thanks for asking that, I inadvertently left the curbless detail out of the video titles and descriptions. The solid surface aspect of the base is a must for us (for waterproofing and cleaning), and I totally overlooked the other nice feature of it being curbless. I have now edited everything to show that.
What should it cost to hire somebody to relocate a drain like that? Just the drain part not the shower base etc
