YES!!! I bought an old trunk at auction & when I got home I opened it to find some 100+ old women/men non-working watches. I’ve taken all the watch bands off, gutted em for steampunk parts, laid them out, and .......... I got smart, looked up charms w/old watches and the miracle or you appeared❣️❣️. I’m so excited!!!! Thank You!

I have several watches that I never wear anymore because they always stop on me. I have too much metal in my body to wear them so I usually just wear them as bracelets. Refunction Crafts I’m a male I think I want to create my on face watch too and use the time peices exactly the way it originally made with the time peices by using craft stickers or something and make a clock face out of it and put all together and use it as a clock with the time peices and make it work 😊
These are awesome, what a neat way to repurpose old watches, thanks for the ideas. People who like steam punk or scrap booking just cringed when you threw the internal watch parts away, lol.
Uh oh, I better start finding a use for those parts in some steam punk pieces.

hi great inspiration. thank you> just a tip for you- the watch strap bar is spring loaded and is removeable so you could thread beads/end caps onto it to stop the dangle sliding back and forth. Might be easier than trying to glue! :-) xx

The winding piece is called the CROWN. The bar on either side is the SPRING BAR that holds the BAND onto the watch CASE. The part you took off first is called the BACK. The case itself is called the BEZEL. The clear piece on top is the CRYSTAL. My mother and father were watch repairmen. Hope this helps.

This is a fantastic idea and I plan on making some, but only with watches that don’t work anymore. I collect watches and wouldn’t want to dismantle a watch that actually works or just needs a battery. I have a few of watches, though, that are perfect for this idea. Thank you!!

HappyBird sent me. My only concern is the spring bar that holds the watch band on the base might be yanked off inadvertently...I will consider adding a drop of super glue at each end. These are adorable. Tfs.
That’s a great idea. In most cases those spring bars are extremely difficult to get off. I almost always have to cut them off if I need to get rid of them.

At 35 minutes in, you could just wrap some soft wire around both ends of the watchband bar to get the jump ring to stay in the middle.

I have several old watches I have kept thinking someday there will be a tutorial on how to craft them. Thank you, yours are stunning. Any ideas what to do with the watch bands?
They can be great for making bracelets. Just attach a centerpiece. Also, just leaving the face attached and opening it up to embellish it, then put it back together and wear it as a bracelet. I think I need to do a video on that. 🤔♥️♥️
I just have to thank you for making me laugh. I loved the part of the watch band, and the back of the watch, and then the dial thing, but when you said 'ive got a sticker stuck to my arm' i had tears of joy. Thank you. I know it was frustrating for you, trying to find the right words, but you made me smile! Sometimes when we have a zillion things going on in our heads, when we are problem solving? and doing something else, we loose our words. They just vanish. Not long ago i couldnt remember the word breed? and said 'what make' instead. They knew what i meant, i had been watching car restoration videos for several days, and make and model were on the tip of my tongue.
oh no the glue is oozing, =) i get so upset when that happens to me, its like you cant get it started then it wont stop.
Walmart also carries that set of beads, they are beautiful, i picked up the clear and the blue sets.

Hi Pamela! I get the crystals from Amazon. You can also find them much cheaper on TEMU which is where I have been buying much of my supplies lately due to the prices being about half of Amazon. Have to save wherever I can, lol. The tiny charms can also be found on either site. I must admit I receive lots of my bits and pieces from generous subscribers. I’ve been very blessed by them. I have so many of them in my stash now and if you’d like I will be happy to send you a sampling of them. You can pm me your address and I’m happy to send you a small package. I need to do more giving back to my friends here because they’ve all been so good to me. This would be a good time to start. Have a blessed 2024.

The watch and bead dangles are so pretty, but wire wrapping them closed makes sure the loop doesn't open up.

No, most of these don’t even have the watch faces in them anymore. They are made to be shakers.

Nice pieces, but out of frame a lot. I missed some, but could guess the attaching technique.
I’m so sorry about being out of frame. This was one of my earlier videos when I was still trying to figure out the camera angles and I’ll admit I got out of frame a bit. I’ve done other altered watch tutorials since producing this one if you’d like to take a look. One as recently as last week. ♥️♥️
