Mine does not have a 'memory' it powers on at 75% all the time and this is what it says it does in the instructions. So this review is wrong on that one point. But otherwise an excellent review.
I also have the 200 Lumen version that has very slight differences in control) that is still sold. Go for the 320 version but the older light is still a great lamp.

starts to dim in a 1/2 hr after being on its brightest setting.
battery runs down quick on bright setting. I hv 2

Can I detach the battery pack so that I can keep it under my jacket when it's cold?

Great question Alexander! Yes, the removable battery pack can be stowed to preserve battery life with a cord long enough to reach warm pockets for "polar mode," in cold temps.
