- I decided to buy the Brake Motive Drilled/Slotted Rotors and pads deal for my C6 Corvette and made a video to help out anyone looking to do install theirs themselves! The rotors are excellent quality and I'm very happy with them. Significant improvement in look and feel over the stock rotors with the ceramic pads.
Excellent video. The best I have ever seen. Quality audio, video, and instructions are clear and straight to the point. It doesn't get better than this. Time spent producing your videos are greatly appreciated. Keep up the excellent work.
Finally my race rotors and race pads. Thanks again for the movie. So simple!
Good video, I liked that you gave the torque amounts. Thanks
great job to show people how to replace the rotor
Absolutely wonderful movie. Top quality video and well explained. Thank you!
you use these on a race track?
Jose Garcia
Yeap. The original rotors were starting to get cracked and I needed new ones. I usually change pads before track days as well. Have now upgraded to a C7 Z51. :)
Johan Cederberg cool, I was wondering how well the rotors hold up against heat fade and cracking, I have a pair on my cts v but I don't really track my car.
Thank you, good point on the torque.
Hey man! Killer vid, straight to the point!
I'm about to replace my pads and was thinking about painting my calipers, have you pulled them off the line yet? Curious about the process and difficulty. Might just have to do it while still attached.
thanks! I actually painted mine in place and just masked everything off. I used a brake caliper-specific spray paint and a flame proof primer and it came out great. Around ~$20 total. Hasn't had any issues in over a year. I didn't fiddle with the line since I just did the brake fluid not long before. It's pretty easy to paint in place. That's what I recommend doing. A good trick if you want to keep the "CORVETTE" lettering silver is to apply chap stick to them and spray the caliper normally. Once the paint dries you can just wipe it off with your finger. Makes life a lot easier than trying to mask off the letters!
Great video. You forgot to mention that the lug nuts are torqued to 100 Foot Pounds.
Very helpful. New subber. 💯✌🏾
FYI, torque is measured in LB-FT not FT-LBS. Was it really necessary to take the caliper apart? I would avoid loosening or tightening the lug nuts with any load on the wheels.
loved it, glad it wasn't recorded with a potato, what size are the aftermarket rotors? i believe the brembo kit is like 14" , were your aftermarket's bigger than the stock ones?
+DJ Aladdin Haha thanks! Yeah the stock rotors on the car were 12.8", the Z51's are 13.4", and the Z06's are 14" just like the Brembo. I just bought the stock sized rotors since they're an easy swap, but the others are not hard. The stock size with simply swap out. Z51 size just need a larger caliper bracket, and the Z06 size need new brackets and calipers.
Thank you good video
Geat vid!
What is a good quality price friendly rotor and brake kit ??
aye what about bleeding that's what i came here to see
