My mama used to bake them in the oven with butter and brown sugar. I loved them cooked like that.
Never had butternut Souffle. When I was a child, I could not eat Butternut Squash. Other Squash varieties were fine, but there was something about Butternut. After I was gone overseas for a few years and came back, my taste changed and I now love it baked, fried, made into pies like pumpkin (after baked), boiled, and in casseroles.

I don't always mean to give you a weather update but we're supposed to have bad thunderstorms tonight and the temperature is going to drop down to 19 degrees and we got snow where I live in Arkansas and it looks like it's going to come all the way to where you live at but I'm glad I'm watching another video be safe

What I love about butternut casserole is that it stays hot for so long. I let it set up for 30 minutes after taking it out of the oven and it is still hot when we eat it. One of my favorites!

I have a couple small squash left and will try this! I was able to find some Cade's Cove green bean seeds this week, along with rattlesnake. Have always grown the same 2 varieties, so anxious to try something new.

All of those squashes (pumpkins, zucchini, cucumbers, spaghetti squash, acorn squash, etc., are actually fruits; and are very good for you! My ancestors in Alabama ate them like it was going out of style! They are delicious and super healthy.

Watching you cook for your family reminds me of my mom. She always had supper on the table at 6 right when Dad walked in. Well I did the same thing for my family. I do miss those days. I still cook like everyone is still here--lol always leftovers which I usually freeze. I really wish I had of thanked Mom for those meals more. Sure do miss them now.
Oh that looks so good, I love any type of squash/pumpkin! Love to roast halves of acorn squash, filling the cavity where the seeds were with butter, brown sugar, a little bit of cinnamon and some smoked paprika! The chicken legs you made looked delicious, do you have the recipe for those on your website?
