    ------
On this week's Two Minute Tuesday, Kevin shows you how to properly jack your car up to put on jack stands! He goes through all the jacking points and what you need to safely work under your car. You'll need a jack, jack stands, wheel chocks, and a creeper (optional). For the front you'll use the cross member plate underneath where your transmission and engine meet. For the rear you'll use the rear differential and for the sides you have the 4 pinch welds, 2 on either side. Please use jack stands if you're doing anything underneath your car as a safety precaution as jacks do sometimes fail and we don't ever want to see anyone get hurt.

Im so happy you showed the front jack point. I didnt want to accidentally jack on the skid plate or hit the oil pan. Its not easily identifiable when you are laying down trying to find it with a lowered car.

Another tip: if you don't have a ultra low profile jack to get it under the front (Especially if you're lowered or have a front lip) and don't have ramps available. You can use your spare tire jack on either side of the front pinch welds to give just enough clearance to slide the jack in. It's not a long term solution but it works if you need it.

I bought a nice big Napa jack and then needed to work on my car 5 hours away, so I bought a nice big Harbor Freight jack. The cheaper one jacked higher, so I used it until it stopped going up all of the way, so I started using the more expensive one--except it no longer goes down all of the way.
When it doesn't I need to use the HF jack at a pinch weld to get my car high enough to use my Napa jack.

When your pinch welds rust out use the front lower control arm mount shaped like a triangle. In the rear should be 2 90° brackets that are sturdy enough.
