TRUE STORY!? Garth Brooks - The Dance | REACTION

~Tapping into Your Potential Where Others Saw None~ - Hudba
This song hits different right now. I’m recently divorced. Father of two kids. I’d do it all over again. No matter that I know how it ends I’d do the dance again
As others have said, this isn't Garth, but this is one of my favorite Garth songs; he was so good that he brought people into Country music in the 90's; myself included. Had the pleasure of seeing him live in San Diego in 2016; still put on a GREAT concert! ❤
Phenomenal huh? Loved that concert more than any other, hands down.
This applies Abraham Lincoln JFK and Martin Luther King
It is Garth. No one can mistake his voice.

@@julieparkhurst8993 You have, it isn't him
When we avoid unpleasant circumstances we also miss the blessing.
It's about even though heartbreak is painful, its well worth going through that pain if not for those special moments with our loved ones. Cannot have the sweet without the sour.
Very nicely said! 👌
"Shameless" live 1991 and "Unanswered Prayers" are great.
I’ve heard and loved the song for face value, but this is the first time listening to it since my husband and best friend of 22 years passed away unexpectedly at the age of 60 last September. With no children or family I’m struggling with downsizing and getting ready to move. But for 1/3 of my life I’ve enjoyed the dance. Thank you - I needed to hear that, for real.
God Bless You. Stay safe. You never know who you might touch later in life.
This isn’t Garth!!!! Cover of his song. Garth doesn’t have his music on any streaming service like Apple or Spotify so it is hard to find his stuff all the time
This isnt Garth but a cover. He wouldnt sign over his rights for his music to be streamed "for free" online. He said it helped upcoming artists get known...but letting people listen to your music or watch it for free hurts the artists. He was right. One of the few you sill have to pay to watch his videos and listen to.
This is Garth. The real Garth so I don't know what kind of nonsense you are trying to start. Stop it here. Miss AM girl. Learn your music
@@marykelly8362 Say no to drugs dear. This isnt him. Its someone covering him. Do your research. You're embarrassing yourself. I know I'm right so I'l give you the last word.
@@marykelly8362 this is NOT Garth. Plain and simple.
Good thing I have the cassettes of all of his songs I need to hear.
@@marykelly8362 no this is not Garth.
"Unanswered Prayers" from Garth. Great song along the same theme.
This song was given to him by a friend when he 1st moved to Nashville and Garth told him it would be his 1st single if he got signed
This song and "The River" (also Garth) are such profound songs on the meaning of living life to the fullest.
Two years ago today (Jan 10), the other half of my heart was called home. We were together 22 years at that point, and married 18 of them. For all the pain of losing him.. I wouldn't have changed it for the world.
If tomorrow never comes is another really deep love song that makes you think.
You would have to find a live performance of Garth Brooks in order to hear something of his, because he owns all the rights to his music.
This song means a lot to me personally. In a lot of ways my ex-wife ruined my life (in ways I won't mention here), and there were many times I wished that I had never gotten involved with her.... But we have two wonderful children together, and I would have missed all the amazing memories with them if I never had been with her. So in the end, all the pain and suffering was worth it so that I could share the dance with my kids.
This is the song I want sung when I go. All the ups and downs in my life, I wouldn't change for the world.
Fans who grew up listening to Garth Brooks since they were kids like myself instantly KNOW that this is not Garth Brooks just by him singing 2 words "Looking Back".
This is some random singers cover of the song.

Garth Brooks talks both at the beginning and end of the song and I love it because he says to alot of folks, The Dance is about a love gone bad.
But to him and to others it's about Loved ones who had passed away and the Martin Luthor Kings and Keith Whitleys of this World and the entire video shows alot of famous people in video clips who has passed away.
And I think this is the best video to watch for the Dance.

My man died April 18th suddenly and " I could have missed the pain, but I'd have had to miss the dance" 💖 Always in my dreams Mr Wonderful, Morgan Williamson 🐿️
Another great Garth Brooks song like this one: " Sometimes I Thank God For Unanswered Prayers".
My wife passed in June 2018. This song hits hard. I am so glad i got to dance.
Like I told you the other night.. my grandson was 3 when he was unexpectedly taken from us.. but I can promise you that the 3 years we had Jackson were the best years. I wouldn’t have traded the pain for the love and happiness he gave me.. He was a very special boy who was loved as anyone could be loved. I have 4 kids and he was the first grandson. The other kids (his Aunt and 2 Uncles fought over who got to take him places and do things with him. He is missed beyond belief and our pain doesn’t seem to lessen.. but his memory always brings me overwhelming feelings of love and pride..
The most difficult life lesson that we have to learn is that if we try to protect ourselves from future pain by avoiding, or "opting out" of certain life experiences, we also end up missing out on the things that make this life worth living! It is natural to want to protect oneself from disappointment and pain. But, sometimes doing so, costs us much, much more than we realize it will. Our lives REALLY are better left to something or someone that is wiser then we are!
I enjoy your reactions, and hearing your thoughts and insights. I hope that 2022 is a really great year for you and your family. Take care.
Garth Brooks also sung this song in memory of Dale Earnhardt after he passed.
he ain't old enough to be the GOAT country's been around for a century. He is a GOAT. Personally Straight, Cash, and Travis all have a piece of goat
So my mom died when I woke as 17. This was my parents song long before we knew she was Ill. Anytime this song played my dad would brake down. We played this at her funeral and followed with Pink Floyd’s Stairway to Heaven
Not Garth, but the story...🥰

"To make you feel my love" is another great Garth brooks song. Bob dylan wrote it
This is one of the best songs in country music today, still. But I’d have had to miss the dance..........one of the greatest lines in country music.
That summer by Garth!! That's a great song!
The death of my wife (brain cancer that slowly reduced this beautiful woman from my life partner into a husk of what she was before she died) tore me apart and turned me into an alcoholic (now sober and recovered), If I had to do it all over again knowing that I'd only have 17 years with her I'd do it in a second because 15 of those years were filled with love and joy and happiness, and five children. My memories of her and my children make the last two years of my marriage, where I had to basically sit there and watch the person I cared about more than any in the world wither away and slowly die worth it. I still feel the pain. I still miss her. But I can rejoice in the memories of happier times.
He's the best-selling solo artist of all time. All genres
I just lost my Dad in October....I met him at 13, when my Mom sent me to Arkansas.....(trouble at home she didn't want to acknowledge). He was a Vietnam Vet...had PTSD and a problem with alcohol. While I was there, he had a psychotic breakdown, and left, leaving me with my stepmom and stepsisters, cuz he felt like that would be the besy thimg for me.....he called the local radio station and dedicated this song to us.....it still makes my heart hurt to hear it.....❤😔
Your reaction to the end of the song just eues closed feeling what he wanted you to feel, its wonderful sir.

There are 2 versions of this song that I enjoy more than the original. Both still sung by Garth, but one version was put out after Dale Earnhardt Sr. died at Daytona in 2001 and the song was interspersed with Dale Sr talking about racing and sportscasters and others talking about him. First time I ever heard the song but it fit so well. The other was a video of a Garth Brooks concert where he stopped the show when he saw a sign held by a woman in the audience that said "Chemo this morning, Garth tonight enjoying The Dance" He talked with her, gave her his guitar, and showed true compassion for her. Definitely one I cried over since I lost my mom to cancer years ago.
This was my husbands and my song. I just had no clue how real it would become for me. He passed several years ago very suddenly at the age of 46 due to a heart problem. I feel blessed that shortly before he passed we celebrated 20 yrs of marriage and even though I miss him daily I wouldn't have changed a thing.
The song "Rodeo" or my favorite " The Beaches of Cheyennne" are both top-shelf Garth Songs!
This is one of those songs that always make my eyes water a little

Garth Brooks IS The goat of Country!!!!!!PERIOD!!!!
There is and old english saying that i live my life by "Dont cry because its over, Smile because it happend" 👍👍
This is the song that gets me the most.
GARTH IS A LEGEND FOR SURE. WHEN YOU GET TIME, GO BACK AND LISTEN TO THE WORDS OF THIS SONG AGAIN. EVERY WORD HAS A DIFFERENT MEANING TO EACH PERSON AT ONE POINT AND TIME IN THEIR LIFE. YOU WILL REFLECT ON YOUR FIRST LOVE AND IF YOU HAD ONLY DONE THIS ONE THING DIFFERENTLY, YOU MAY STILL BE TOGETHER TODAY....
IT DEFINITELY HITS DIFFERENTLY ONCE YOU LISTEN TO IT A COUPLE TIMRD.
Another great one is "If tomorrow never comes". But then again there are a ton of greats by him.

This song still gives me goosebumps! 💕
Ahh, this song always brings me back to 1981 when I lost my infant daughter Wendy unexpectedly.
George Jones is the “Roll Royce of Country Music, George Strait is the “King of Country Music” and Garth Brooks is one of the best cross over artist (country and pop) in history and one of the best live entertainers. This is a quote from Wiki that pretty much sums it up: “Brooks is the only artist in music history to have released nine albums that achieved diamond status in the United States (surpassing the Beatles' former record of six); “
The Dance is one of my all time favorite songs. I wish we could find a lot of REAL GARTH performances and recordings on YT. It’s a shame they are so hard to find (if they are there at all).
i still will never forget being maybe 11 or 12 and seeing garth and George strait in concert in okc. was unforgettable. much luv to everyone!!!!!
There’s Garth then there’s everybody else truly the goat
In 1990, the song's video earned Brooks the Academy of Country Music Award for Video of the Year as well as Song of the Year. It featured John F Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Robt. Kennedy, The crew of the space shuttle Challenger before its launch, champion bull rider Lane Frost, "The Dance" has memorialized countless lives in the face of tragedy, including Dale Earnhardt, John Wayne, Keith Whitley. It featured images of people who died for their dream.
One of Garth’s best and deepest songs was THE RIVER. Deep philosophical meaning.
This is one of the greatest songs performed
Another one of his songs along this same line is Unanswered Prayers .
Great reaction. I love Garth! Other great ones are Unanswered Prayers, When the Thunder Rolls, Friends in low places. Have fun!
This song was played at a loved ones funeral back in 1994. It's still hard for me to listen to it, such a great song. As all ways Van, you have great insight 👍 Respect
How many people would not be married for 60 years like my father just endore the pain of losing my mother the love of his life.
I've been married for 31 years and no amount of pain or suffering could make me regret or wish I never met her. I would walk in to fire just to know she is safe and happy.
Great reaction
Having had a rocky marriage, a child with special needs, then working away from home, her depression, her drug dependency, her death, still working away, being single, and being stepped over at work I’m not sure if I’d do the same things over.
*Garth Brooks - "Unanswered Prayers"*
Garth was honored at the Kennedy Center snd Kelly Clarkson sang this to him sitting there. It was gorgeous.
Yes!!! It's an amazing message! And you restate and explain it incredibly!!! Also try "standing outside the fire"
Lost my love of 42 years 2019. Miss him but what a dance!❤
This song was first performed in front of a very intimate audience in Nashville at the famous Bluebird Cafe, look it up. it was amateur night and the writer of this song performed it that night and as luck would have it, Garth Brooks was in the audience...they both got rich off this song.
Love is a risk that is worth taking!
Always loved this song. He's done many great songs.❤️
My all time favorite song!!!
One of my favorite garth books songs is "I'm much to young to feel this dam old"
Never miss the dance my friends!" I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean". Dance my people
Hi Van, such a beautiful song. I can't listen to this song without tearing up. None of us knows what tomorrow will bring, so we have to enjoy today. ❤
One of his many great songs
I know you read your comments, and I know you already heard this wasn’t Garth. You almost have to find a live performance to hear him actually sing. Also, I love AAAAALL your stuff! But I keep hoping for an inspirational one. I’m really hoping for The Joke by Brandi Carlile, either the video or the live version. They’re both great! It’s about rising above all the haters. It’s beautiful! I’m sure you’ll love it. ❤️❤️❤️
I've love this song and I remember seeing Garth Brooks at Cascade Falls Jackson Michigan in the early 90s singing this song.
I cry every time I hear this.
Van this song makes me cry every time I hear this. My Nephew Patrick was a stillborn. This is the song my brother and his wife played at his funeral. 😭
You’re awesome dude; thanks for choosing that song, my favorite song of all time!
Love this song. To me it represents more of someone who lost a spouse by death, but me being divorced it rings true also.
Loss is loss.

Damn I had to listen.. Every time I hear this song I cry, it's one of the few that get me like that, reminds me of an old love
Was a freshman at Ok State when he released this album. Knew the guys that helped him write these, knew his mom later and although I never got to see him in concert, I did meet him as a regular guy a few times.
Garth is legitimate good guy.
This song is played a lot at funerals. Great song!

My fav Garth Brooks song. And that’s saying something considering he has many legendary songs
Great comments at the end man. My marriage went pretty bad towards the end but I have 3 great kids and a lot of pretty amazing things that happened during the 25 years that we were together. I have learned to trust that my higher power knows what is best for me and what I think I want isn't always best. What I think is terrible turns out to be a blessing and seemingly good fortune turns out to be a painful experience.
Always makes me cry..
Love this song! ❤️
Thanks Van.. such a beautuful song.. it makes me cry every time I hear it.. sincerely.. thank you... to release those emotions is healthy.. to think of loved ones we have lost is eternal.. to be a mess when a relationship ends is terrible... this song can encourage us to dwell on the happiness and joy shared not the end.. for those times.. the pain is worth it.. it has been said.. better to have loved and lost.. than to have never loved at all
Definitely a cover, but it's good and a close representation of the original. It's a really good message. Enjoy the now and not worry about what might happen in the future. Here's a link to the original czcams.com/video/y2oGMyJzqM0/video.html
I'm a black girl and I fell in love with country when I was 17 years old. I'm 40 now. The first country song I listened to and loved was strawberry wine. I was then addicted. My second favorite was don't take the girl. I learned about big and rich, diamond Rio, Allen Jackson, and my absolute favorite, travis tritt. It makes people cringe when they see a black person who likes country. We're supposed to be cool and fit into one box. White people can consume hip hop and it's accepted, but society thinks country is too corny or soft for us.
I've never understood that. People should be able to listen to any genre without being ridiculed or whatnot for it. I have a variety of songs on my playlist that range from Disney soundtracks, gospel, J-pop, K-pop, R&B, country, and even some rap and hip hop depending on the song and just about every other genre in between. I really don't get why people think you're supposed to listen to a certain genre or not listen to a certain genre based on their culture or how they look. Like what you like and ignore those people who try to tell what you're supposed to listen to or not listen to.
Van, we're never promised tomorrow, enjoy today
This takes me back to 1993. The noise of food cooking, the smell of tobacco and big strong arms dancing 5 year old me around the kitchen.
That feeling of us against the world and nothing is stronger then my daddy. Love this song ❤️.
He sang this song at the NASCAR banquet as they played a tribute to Dale Earnhardt in the background as well..
I love the message you provided at the end. Very wise and true indeed, listen up people. Live your life and feel all of it, the good and bad; don't live your life scared.
Kelly Clarkson sang this at his kennedy center honor. He cried. It is beautiful
I can't carry a tune in a basket, but I sang this at my father's funeral in 97. My Dad's name was John(true story). Right after The Dance, I did a terrible rendition of Johnny Be Good. Actually I'm not terrible and they weren't bad. Picture a funeral home full of people clapping and tapping their feet.
I've never thought about this the way you put it. Very thought provoking
I always think of the movie 8 seconds when I hear this song. Definitely a much watch
This song is played at a lot of funerals
Can, I met my love at 38, got married at 39. Our first anniversary was spent with her having cancer surgery.
That was 13 years ago.
If I’d known, I wouldn’t change a thing except for her having to go through it.
Funny how love does that crazy shit.
She survived a brain tumor a year or so ago and is try to live life she hasn’t gotten to yet.
Still good, she’s tougher than me.
Don’t regret a minute of my time with her.
One of his greatest songs. P
Would like to have this played when I pass…. Wouldn’t have missed it for the world!!
He did two other favorites Unanswered Prayers and If Tomorrow Never Comes
Really should do We Shall Be Free by Garth Brooks. It s an amazing song that is as true today as it was when it was written
You need to watch the official video to truly understand his interpretation. Beautiful.
