My guy i dont want to shit on you rn but you missed the point of this weapon entirely, when you get the catalyst (there's already video's of this in action) the weapon auto reloads, in about the time auto loading holster takes to proc, plus it has the exact same audio queue as ALH, there's already vids of ppl using this like an auto loading anarchy and tbh its far better then anarchy ever was in this final form, this weapon is already being considered for a lot of people's future dps rotations given that it can take out caiatl in just over 2 bells with the right swap combo, think double slug or rapid fire snipers to swap to while this weapon builds up in the background

I think you miss out on the true potential of this weapon by spamming it by itself. Its strength is that it sticks to enemies, and that it autoloads on getting full fuel, which it gets by the ignitions it causes while stuck on the enemy. Dump it on someone, and while it's igniting and building up full fuel for an autoload, you start doing special weapon DPS. The DPS rotation should be similar to Anarchy, with double slugs or a good fusion rifle supplementing.
@@spetmember8799 There's a couple of tests I've seen already with fusions, the thing puts out DAMAGE if you use it as a swap weapon. It's not meant to spam like he's doing in the video
I feel like you can shoot a x5 rocket, hit them with a special weapon while it auto loads and repeat. I don't know if it'll change the dps much but it may be worth a shot.
@@IsaacSurf735dawn chorus does not increase scorch stacks only scorch damage. It’s ember of ashes that is causing it too do two ignitions, but it gets even better if you throw on ember of char and ember of eruption as a bonus.
I think it's worth noting: Scorch stacks are unified by the target they're affecting, NOT by the player who inflicts them. That goes for ignitions too. And funnily enough whatever caused the initial scorch will be the weapon/ability to which the scorch is attributed i.e hunter knife trick being the 1st thing to start a new scorch stack followed by dragon's breath will count as a melee-oriented ignition and trigger a hunter melee effect if the ignition kills, even if dragon's breath tipped the scorch over the edge. Now, what this means is due to the fact that 3 people are using scorch, only 1 of you are getting the scorch damage and only 1 of you are getting the ignition damage. Plus since there's no over-stacking scorch, it caps at 100, and doing so still gives you the same ignition whether or not you would realistically hit 100 or 1000 scorch, they all do the same damage with the same source. All this scorch sharing will eat into your individual and overall damage numbers, which is why in a 3-stack, you did less damage, since you had about the same amount of scorch downtime due to the ignition animation + few frames of scorch immunity enemies have after.
makes this season *unbelievably* annoying trying to use Sunbracers because if you snap something that's been incidentally scorched by someone radiant with the right artifact mod and you don't get the ignition ^_^ First scorch applied sets the mode of the debuff.
@@Avoncarstien Yep. It's very useful for certain things, such as the new Ophidia Spathe buff, ignitions can get melee's 2x damage boost. I used it mainly for assassin's cowl, assassin's cowl with knife trick + secondary scorch method i.e Tommy's matchbook gives you HP and invis when the ignite kills. Does get annoying when multiple scorch users are competing to get their own effect though.
I think youre using this one sub optimally. Its meant to be shot once, then you're going to use a special DPS weapon (preferably sugge matched) until it goes away, then fire another rocket.
Just use it like Anarchy, stick it to the boss and it'll ignite them twice and auto reload itself. While that's happening do DPS with Supremacy or Eremite and swap back.
its better than given credit for here. its built for dps rotations, hitting max stacks faster when attached to an enemy because it will cause them to ignite, letting u spam other stuff between auto-loads
To me it seems like a weapon to pair with another weapon. Like perhaps wardens law and lucky pants. Shoot dragons breath. Switch to warden's law. use up lucky pants damage bonus. Shoot Dragons breath that is probably at full. Use somethhing like cartesian for a few shots. Repeat. Could do insane total damage and dps.
I'm enjoying the specialized exotics they have been making lately, they are not a top weapon on its own, the task is up to you to make it work to its fullest potential. It's far more entertaining than equipping the one with the highest dps and calling it a day.
Completely rearranged my solar build around this thing since ahamkarah spine got nerfed. Also I love that this thing growls when u pull it out and view it in invintory
It's engine revs even when it is stowed when it hits full fuel, really satisfying. honestly even if it isn't a top tier pick. I still like the rework of one of my favorite D1 weapons. CANT WAIT FOR SOLAR RED DEATH
Imo absolutely wrong use here. It's as some mentioned a solar anarchy, you do not use anarchy as your main damage option. As a rando, my idea would be: Apotheosis veil (now gives infinit grenades after super for 5-6 seconds) Place well -> throw grenades -> shoot rocket -> dmg via solar fusion -> DB Rinse and repeat. Dawn chorus could be interesting too
This thing works like Witherhoard, Izan, Anarchy, etc. its damage comes from being a swap weapon cause it does a ton of DoT while you shoot with something else
It can stun unstoppable champs. The rocket sticks to the champ then pours enough scorch to cause the ignition which causes the stun. So it has hidden unstoppable even though it isn't intrinsic.

It certainly feels like if you rock a scorch build, a solid kinetic DPS legendary, and someone on div it will do BIG DPS. In its current state it's for sure not a write-off I love the playstyle it brings, it's almost like a harder hitting version of Whither Hoard+Gjallarhorn buff rockets build in terms of feel, I want to know what it's like with the catalyst
Been using Dragon's Breath on my Warlock with Dawn Chorus Exotic Helmet & Daybreak. The super + DB + Fusion Grenades absolutely melts bosses and i had no problem doing The Coil with blueberries. Can recommend. I was planning on going Stasis this season, but i quickly changed my mind with this build.
Currently pairing it with the revamped apotheosis veil. Throw grenade -> well -> dragon's breath -> spam grenade -> rocket -> grenade -> fusion -> rocket. I havent done any proper testing yet or really optimized it, but it seems to output a ton of damage
Less overall damage is most likely due to the ignitions being shared, so you have the same amount of ignitions split across 3 players instead of just one. And because ignitions have a sort of windup the increased scorch doesnt quite offset it.
i think the lowering of its dps with multiples is the same problem 1k has. it relies on ignitions for dps, which you can't stack, so all your dragons breaths are getting the boss up to one ignition every 100 scorches instead of three.
I gave it a shot with a Pyrogale build for scorching and igniting and it works nicely there, numbers I didn't track too well but you can land both Consecration and the Pyrogale Gauntlet and spam the rockets on bosses that don't move too much and it'll always be up with the amount of ignitions, all the tick damage squeezes out just that smallest bit more.
Hopefully when this gun is fully examined we can see how it works with other things. Dawn chorus w/ solar grenade or SB with the solar grenades raining down and dragons breath at once.
This weapon basically defibrillates the what starfire protocol use to be. Basically if you slap this rocket on and switch to another weapon while tossing fusion nades, while also having the fragment that gives grenade energy on ignitions you'll basically have grenade and rocket spam.
Pair it with a Sunbracers build, and it's an absolute MACHINE for soloing content. Two ignitions gets you to max fuel. Kill a trash ad, dump barfing suns around you, fire a DB rocket at the boss, then when you hear two ignitions, you can fire another rocket at max fuel.
I think DB will be a good sustain rocket launcher, because the passive scorch buildup on hit, it'll actually be better if you left it to charge full propellant, it'll auto reload and cause massive ignitions. so maybe dump a rapid fire frame sniper mag in the boss after firing, reload. swap back and go again?
playing gambit last night by force, dragons breath showed to be a pretty decent invading weapon. i just sent a rocket at the boss’ feet and while everyone tried to get out of the scorch, i used ammit to pick them off. surprisingly useful
This season also has an artifact mod that gives additional scorch to your solar weapons while radiant. On all three classes, you have an easy access to ignitions with DB AND IT AUTOLOADS!
D breath works way better as a swap option. I just tested it and it will autoload when stowed and you don't need ashes to get the 2 ignitions from one rocket, but ashes did seem to proc the ignition faster.

Just a quick note, while playing around doing the first mission of the season, i got one of the missiles to hit for 298k on impact, i did not had any buff/surge/bubble or well at the moment, just the perk at x5 and thats it, it wasnt a visual bug cus it took a chunk out of the boss health bar, am still trying to replicate it, will update if i get it to work again. I'd assume the reason why multiple db's on the field dealing less damage is an effect similar to wither hoard, where the fire pool on the ground doesn't stack, similar to witherhoard
I'm wondering if you have one teammate laying into them with a bunch of scorch stuff-solar grenades, maybe Prometheus Lens, stuff like that-the extra ignitions will make it better.
Ignitions are a Universal Cooldown, so it wont stack with other DB’s, the best way to use it in my opinion is Blade barrage, Well + Opathasis Veil, or sunbracers. Dragons breath is littsrally just a heavy version or Witherhoard
You could also potentially get more outta it using warlock because of the exotic helmet that increases scorch damage and tick. Still gotta try it but it could be useful.
I feel that the rocket DPS meta is gonna be Ghorn/DB/two Cold Comforts with Envious Assassin/that other stupid good perk on Cold Comfort*/Div/A void hunter with void rocket and Gyrfalkon's? The DB user would have to rely on a special weapon (cough cough i fucking love The Eremite cough cough) for DPS though but that could be really fun! Very hyped for this season
Another thing to consider is the fact that DB is a good anti-champion exotic. Is baseline anti-unstoppable because Ingnition, in a solar 3.0 build is pretty trivial to gain radiant for anti-barrier and this season artifact gives anti-overload to rocket launchers , so it counter all of them. It could be very handy in content like GMs.
It's Jottun in the heavy slot, also nobody is using the dawn chorus with it but me and I'm deleting everything. Firebolt nade, dragon's breath, and solar warlock with that and u barely do anything but ability and rocket spam unless u want to conserve heavy
I feel like this could go very well with that infinite warlock snap melee build. Since snap already procs an ignition on it's own you could theoretically have the rocket reload itself and get up to 5 x stacks on a single snap. So you could rotate with snap and rocket firing and keep it going non stop. Maybe throw in a quick chill clip fusion rifle shot once per rotation and you could be doing some serious dps where chill clip procs once every 3 rotations to shatter the boss. Could potentially work with jolting the target too but not sure what would work best for that. I'm wondering if Phoenix Warlord makes a comback with this as there are sure to be lots of dots going off and potentially killing enemies as well for certain fights.
based on my testing, the best way to maximize its damage is for other people on your fireteam to use conditional finality, which is easy if everyone else is using legendary rockets. those ignitions fill your fuel gauge a ton. also just using it in a longer rotation increases its damage, as you're giving it more time to charge
Dragons Breath + Consecration 1st ignition from dragons breath and second from consecration and because it scorches by default you get your melee back + grenade and throw in fusion
I'm wondering if it would be good to have one guy on the team shooting the boss with Tommy's matchbook to proc ignitions to give you faster fuel and rockets.
Fallout the reason why It does less for you is because ignitions do not stack and scorch stacks have a maximum build up speed meaning the reason you were doing less damage with multiple people is others were procing ignite and taking that damage away from you. Its the same reason why when people used a chill clip rocket only 1 could be used because 1 person (with gjally) could acheive the fastest build up of slow on there own and others could not contribute. It seems like this weapon is meant to be used like annarchy as a way to do dot damage while using special swapping to do dps. I have a feeling it will be a solo content only exotic as in a group if you are doing the double special and utility exotic, ghorn and tractor are currently way better picks.
You don't need to kill something with ignitions you just need to get a hit with an ignition, dragons breath is like a witherhoard for rocket launches you gotta swap it out
I used it in the very first mission and I was pretty impressed how it locked down ads that were walking through the flames and getting scorched. It was like a solar witherhorde
Really curious to see if this interacts with Dawn Chorus' enhanced scorch perk. Be really cool to get a strong of inviting going. The season Solar 2.0 came out, that was my favorite build. Igniting one champion which ignores the other champ which ignored the first champ again. So good 😂
@@GumpierGoat2Dawn Chorus only increase the damage of Scorch, it doesn't add more stacks. Meaning that you'll get the same amount of ignitions with or without it. The extra scorch damage is massive though, 200% increase in PvE. Due to the increase in Scorch damage, Dawn Chorus is actually counterintuitive for an ignition build. Because the adds usually die from the scorch before you can apply enough stacks to get an ignition.
@Voidova either way, I saw bigger numbers after I put DC on with the dragon's breath, also, adds dying isn't a problem, this is a rocket launcher. You're never going to be able to use it ad clear without crazy reserves, I use a primary for that lol.

If you're running Dragon's Breath you're probbaly gonna want to try and get ignitions through other means to proc the perk. This includes an Incandescent primary which you would use anyway with Dawn Chorus. The point being that it'll be harder to get ignitions with Dawn to proc Dragon's perk in general play.
I think you overlooked this gun, it’s not a spam dps weapon but timing, in fact it’s great for 1 player to run it in a team for max dps and it’s more like Witherhoard, with sniper buffs this fun pairs perfectly with Supremacy, Deal insane damage with the rocket at x5, switch guns activate bait and switch on your sniper and dps with that, the second you hear the auto reload swap back and shoot another rocket, this is massively overlooked and it’s insane of an exotic, catalyst will definitely make it better and I think it’s a great exotic actually
I think it would be good on a boss bake if a nearby friendly fireteam member is using Conditional Finality for the near instant ignitions. Fire Dragon's Breath with 5 fuel, swap to something like an envious assassin/controlled burst eremite, wait a few seconds for the Conditional buddy to get an ignition, swap back to Dragon's and fire again with 5 fuel.
Maybe I'm stupid but this seems like it'd be REALLY good with Dawn Chorus. More damage on your scorch ticks, and ticks recharge your melee, which you can use to cause an ignition with the snap refilling your fuel and increasing damage on your next rocket even further
ah wonderful the issue with sunspot grenades is also effecting this exotic got to love that bs, anyone wondering if you have a fireteam all using sunspots only the first one will actualy damage enemies corectly all others dont similar to vortex grenades and using the warlock gauntlet exotic also suffers this, guess that applies to this things fire effects what a wonderful bug they "fixed" -.-

here's a fun way to use the new exotic on a solar warlock. if you use sunbracer's, hit a target with your powered melee (snap or celestial fire) then shoot a rocket to ignite them. since the ignition was initially melee scorch damage it would proc sunbracers effect.
My guess on the lower individual damage when using it in groups, is that the ignitions from the scorch of the rocket is being triggered by only one member of the fireteam, whereas when you're the only one using it, you'd be the only one triggering ignitions.
Its damage is even better if you tactor or tether the enemy. It also pairs well if you have a teammate you can freeze the enemy its ignition and shatter combo works well together.
Hmmm... I think it's a little unfair to not pair DB with another weapon like a fusion when testing, especially if you are going to compare to something like Apex which requires a full rotation. DB is best when you hit an enemy with full charge, swap for a few shots, let your own combustions fill back to x5 and repeat. The total damage output seems incredible with the ammo economy.
you got to test dps with it like anarchy. Probably not super high on it's own but could perform well in a swap rotation with pellet shotties or something
People don’t know how to use it after you fire at target hold trigger down til you see rocket hit and scorch make sure it’s 3/5x and you won’t get burned
I needed to get kills with this thing for the guardian rank, and I also wanted a gold breakneck, so I tried using it in gambit. You have no idea how often I killed myself with it because of just how delayed the explosions can be. I'd open a fight with it, then as I'm leaving the wave, it kills me.
When you do go back and test it with the Catalyst you should not only test it in a Dungeon group, but also a Raid group. See if that diminishing return holds true when you have 6 of them firing at the same target.
Scorch and Ignition damage can only be done by one player to an enemy at a time So if one player is able to put on 100 scorch stacks by themselves, then another player adding scorch stacks won’t do anything This is probably why you’re doing way less damage as a fireteam, every time a scorch stack doesn’t matter, its potential damage is just lost.

Exactly. This is a far more optimal way of using it. I've used mine with a b+s supremacy and the combo shreds.

Dawn chorus makes it proc two ignitions before it explodes meaning you can do this

It makes a huge difference. Damage stacking different weapons together is how meta loadouts like witherhoard + rocket or double slug + anarchy work.

Nah, it melts (hah) with an Ignite build. I use it on my titan and I literally get x5 immediately with all the ignitions I'm getting.

The reason why is due to ignitions being like shatter damage they don’t stack
I feel like this is going to be very, very strong against champs. Hit them first, and it can help control adds while you focus down the champ.

Less overall damage is most likely due to the ignitions being shared, so you have the same amount of ignitions split across 3 players instead of just one. And because ignitions have a sort of windup the increased scorch doesnt quite offset it.
i think the lowering of its dps with multiples is the same problem 1k has. it relies on ignitions for dps, which you can't stack, so all your dragons breaths are getting the boss up to one ignition every 100 scorches instead of three.
I gave it a shot with a Pyrogale build for scorching and igniting and it works nicely there, numbers I didn't track too well but you can land both Consecration and the Pyrogale Gauntlet and spam the rockets on bosses that don't move too much and it'll always be up with the amount of ignitions, all the tick damage squeezes out just that smallest bit more.
Have you considered using Dawn Chorus to double the scorch damage?
Hopefully when this gun is fully examined we can see how it works with other things.

This weapon basically defibrillates the what starfire protocol use to be. Basically if you slap this rocket on and switch to another weapon while tossing fusion nades, while also having the fragment that gives grenade energy on ignitions you'll basically have grenade and rocket spam.
Pair it with a Sunbracers build, and it's an absolute MACHINE for soloing content. Two ignitions gets you to max fuel. Kill a trash ad, dump barfing suns around you, fire a DB rocket at the boss, then when you hear two ignitions, you can fire another rocket at max fuel.
I think DB will be a good sustain rocket launcher, because the passive scorch buildup on hit, it'll actually be better if you left it to charge full propellant, it'll auto reload and cause massive ignitions. so maybe dump a rapid fire frame sniper mag in the boss after firing, reload. swap back and go again?
playing gambit last night by force, dragons breath showed to be a pretty decent invading weapon. i just sent a rocket at the boss’ feet and while everyone tried to get out of the scorch, i used ammit to pick them off. surprisingly useful
This season also has an artifact mod that gives additional scorch to your solar weapons while radiant.
On all three classes, you have an easy access to ignitions with DB AND IT AUTOLOADS!
D breath works way better as a swap option. I just tested it and it will autoload when stowed and you don't need ashes to get the 2 ignitions from one rocket, but ashes did seem to proc the ignition faster.

Just a quick note, while playing around doing the first mission of the season, i got one of the missiles to hit for 298k on impact, i did not had any buff/surge/bubble or well at the moment, just the perk at x5 and thats it, it wasnt a visual bug cus it took a chunk out of the boss health bar, am still trying to replicate it, will update if i get it to work again. I'd assume the reason why multiple db's on the field dealing less damage is an effect similar to wither hoard, where the fire pool on the ground doesn't stack, similar to witherhoard
Witherhoard was never just an "OK" weapon lol. It was god tier the moment you got it lol
it may be good for swapping with another weapons, also you did less damage with more Dragons Breaths because your team stole your ignitions.
The fire trail from shooting also makes this good for mopping up a few ads in the way.
I'm wondering if you have one teammate laying into them with a bunch of scorch stuff-solar grenades, maybe Prometheus Lens, stuff like that-the extra ignitions will make it better.
Ignitions are a Universal Cooldown, so it wont stack with other DB’s, the best way to use it in my opinion is Blade barrage, Well + Opathasis Veil, or sunbracers. Dragons breath is littsrally just a heavy version or Witherhoard
I can't believe the sheer number of people who keep forgetting that Dawn Chorus exists and boosts scorch damage... This thing is NUTS with DC.
You could also potentially get more outta it using warlock because of the exotic helmet that increases scorch damage and tick. Still gotta try it but it could be useful.

Fun Fact: Dragon's Breath also scorches everything under the path that the rocket is fired. Leaves a trail like a Thermite Grenade. 🔥🔥
I use it with my solar hunter and its good, dps if u hit a fucker and decent area denial if u want to not get flanked by 52000 thrall or something
I feel that the rocket DPS meta is gonna be Ghorn/DB/two Cold Comforts with Envious Assassin/that other stupid good perk on Cold Comfort*/Div/A void hunter with void rocket and Gyrfalkon's? The DB user would have to rely on a special weapon (cough cough i fucking love The Eremite cough cough) for DPS though but that could be really fun! Very hyped for this season
Another thing to consider is the fact that DB is a good anti-champion exotic. Is baseline anti-unstoppable because Ingnition, in a solar 3.0 build is pretty trivial to gain radiant for anti-barrier and this season artifact gives anti-overload to rocket launchers , so it counter all of them. It could be very handy in content like GMs.
It's Jottun in the heavy slot, also nobody is using the dawn chorus with it but me and I'm deleting everything. Firebolt nade, dragon's breath, and solar warlock with that and u barely do anything but ability and rocket spam unless u want to conserve heavy
probs a reason why theres less dmg output with other dragons breath is due to ignition cant stack so multiple ignitions cant all happen at once
I feel like this could go very well with that infinite warlock snap melee build. Since snap already procs an ignition on it's own you could theoretically have the rocket reload itself and get up to 5 x stacks on a single snap. So you could rotate with snap and rocket firing and keep it going non stop. Maybe throw in a quick chill clip fusion rifle shot once per rotation and you could be doing some serious dps where chill clip procs once every 3 rotations to shatter the boss. Could potentially work with jolting the target too but not sure what would work best for that. I'm wondering if Phoenix Warlord makes a comback with this as there are sure to be lots of dots going off and potentially killing enemies as well for certain fights.
based on my testing, the best way to maximize its damage is for other people on your fireteam to use conditional finality, which is easy if everyone else is using legendary rockets. those ignitions fill your fuel gauge a ton. also just using it in a longer rotation increases its damage, as you're giving it more time to charge
Dragons Breath + Consecration
1st ignition from dragons breath and second from consecration and because it scorches by default you get your melee back + grenade and throw in fusion
I'm wondering if it would be good to have one guy on the team shooting the boss with Tommy's matchbook to proc ignitions to give you faster fuel and rockets.
Fallout the reason why It does less for you is because ignitions do not stack and scorch stacks have a maximum build up speed meaning the reason you were doing less damage with multiple people is others were procing ignite and taking that damage away from you. Its the same reason why when people used a chill clip rocket only 1 could be used because 1 person (with gjally) could acheive the fastest build up of slow on there own and others could not contribute.
It seems like this weapon is meant to be used like annarchy as a way to do dot damage while using special swapping to do dps. I have a feeling it will be a solo content only exotic as in a group if you are doing the double special and utility exotic, ghorn and tractor are currently way better picks.
You don't need to kill something with ignitions you just need to get a hit with an ignition, dragons breath is like a witherhoard for rocket launches you gotta swap it out
I used it in the very first mission and I was pretty impressed how it locked down ads that were walking through the flames and getting scorched. It was like a solar witherhorde
It can work really well with the cat and perma scorch build. Might not be a meta killer but I bet it's gonna be a fun rocket
Bonk hammer and ikelos shotgun with incandescent is great with this for add clear
Really curious to see if this interacts with Dawn Chorus' enhanced scorch perk. Be really cool to get a strong of inviting going. The season Solar 2.0 came out, that was my favorite build. Igniting one champion which ignores the other champ which ignored the first champ again. So good 😂
It does, with X5 stacks and dawn chorus, it can ignite twice before exploding. Its great in solo content, but pretty meh in a group
@@GumpierGoat2Dawn Chorus only increase the damage of Scorch, it doesn't add more stacks. Meaning that you'll get the same amount of ignitions with or without it.
The extra scorch damage is massive though, 200% increase in PvE.
Due to the increase in Scorch damage, Dawn Chorus is actually counterintuitive for an ignition build. Because the adds usually die from the scorch before you can apply enough stacks to get an ignition.
@Voidova either way, I saw bigger numbers after I put DC on with the dragon's breath, also, adds dying isn't a problem, this is a rocket launcher. You're never going to be able to use it ad clear without crazy reserves, I use a primary for that lol.

I'm talking about general play. If you're running Dragon's Breath you're probbaly gonna want to try and get ignitions through other means to proc the perk. This includes an Incandescent primary which you would use anyway with Dawn Chorus.
The point being that it'll be harder to get ignitions with Dawn to proc Dragon's perk in general play.
I think you overlooked this gun, it’s not a spam dps weapon but timing, in fact it’s great for 1 player to run it in a team for max dps and it’s more like Witherhoard, with sniper buffs this fun pairs perfectly with Supremacy,
Deal insane damage with the rocket at x5, switch guns activate bait and switch on your sniper and dps with that, the second you hear the auto reload swap back and shoot another rocket, this is massively overlooked and it’s insane of an exotic, catalyst will definitely make it better and I think it’s a great exotic actually
I think it would be good on a boss bake if a nearby friendly fireteam member is using Conditional Finality for the near instant ignitions. Fire Dragon's Breath with 5 fuel, swap to something like an envious assassin/controlled burst eremite, wait a few seconds for the Conditional buddy to get an ignition, swap back to Dragon's and fire again with 5 fuel.
Dragons breath seems to work like a solar grenade in that only one solar grenade can deal damage at time just like how witherhoard works.
Can you show us also how it interact with/without “ember of char” and “ember of ashes”

Maybe I'm stupid but this seems like it'd be REALLY good with Dawn Chorus. More damage on your scorch ticks, and ticks recharge your melee, which you can use to cause an ignition with the snap refilling your fuel and increasing damage on your next rocket even further
This gun fits super well with my calibans hand build especially with gunpowder gamble
its also more efficient from up close, since fuel starts getting used up upon firing it and not on impact.
ah wonderful the issue with sunspot grenades is also effecting this exotic got to love that bs, anyone wondering if you have a fireteam all using sunspots only the first one will actualy damage enemies corectly all others dont similar to vortex grenades and using the warlock gauntlet exotic also suffers this, guess that applies to this things fire effects what a wonderful bug they "fixed" -.-

here's a fun way to use the new exotic on a solar warlock. if you use sunbracer's, hit a target with your powered melee (snap or celestial fire) then shoot a rocket to ignite them. since the ignition was initially melee scorch damage it would proc sunbracers effect.

My guess on the lower individual damage when using it in groups, is that the ignitions from the scorch of the rocket is being triggered by only one member of the fireteam, whereas when you're the only one using it, you'd be the only one triggering ignitions.
The way I've seen this has been like Anarchy, where you launch a rocket into a boss then bust out a fusion or sniper.
Its damage is even better if you tactor or tether the enemy. It also pairs well if you have a teammate you can freeze the enemy its ignition and shatter combo works well together.
The ignitions from DB do count as ability kills. Got the seasonal challenge for solar ability kills super fast when grinding DB kills
It staggers bosses so effectively because the ignitions are intrinsic Unstoppable stunners

If you're good at pvp rumble is a good game mode to farm.
Now, consider using it like Anarchy. Rocket > Fusion Rifle > Rocket > etc
The ignitions don’t stack so this is another witherhoard situation where it’s needed for 1 person. More than 1 is just bad
It was doing pretty good in Blind Well when paired with Caliban's hand.
Also it might be better to use it like a Witherhourd

Hmmm... I think it's a little unfair to not pair DB with another weapon like a fusion when testing, especially if you are going to compare to something like Apex which requires a full rotation. DB is best when you hit an enemy with full charge, swap for a few shots, let your own combustions fill back to x5 and repeat. The total damage output seems incredible with the ammo economy.
you got to test dps with it like anarchy. Probably not super high on it's own but could perform well in a swap rotation with pellet shotties or something
People don’t know how to use it after you fire at target hold trigger down til you see rocket hit and scorch make sure it’s 3/5x and you won’t get burned

I needed to get kills with this thing for the guardian rank, and I also wanted a gold breakneck, so I tried using it in gambit. You have no idea how often I killed myself with it because of just how delayed the explosions can be. I'd open a fight with it, then as I'm leaving the wave, it kills me.
Good or not (haven't watch the whole video yet) I'm using it. I've missed Ol' Dragons Breath. It's good to see my old comrade again.
I think it will work really well in gms where there are ton of enemies near the champs
This is a crowd control heavy weapon design to attach big bosses with small enemies around them.
Does the fuel build up from ignitions while stowed? Or do you need to be holding it?
When you do go back and test it with the Catalyst you should not only test it in a Dungeon group, but also a Raid group. See if that diminishing return holds true when you have 6 of them firing at the same target.
Does the weapon have to be out to refuel? because my first thought is matching it with supremacy and swapping like a reverse izanagi setup.
Scorch and Ignition damage can only be done by one player to an enemy at a time
So if one player is able to put on 100 scorch stacks by themselves, then another player adding scorch stacks won’t do anything
This is probably why you’re doing way less damage as a fireteam, every time a scorch stack doesn’t matter, its potential damage is just lost.
So, have a skyburner's hunter with weighted knives?
