For most races, there is a time limit after which you are basically on your own if you still wish to complete the run. Also, there are usually radio checkpoints along the race route and/or route monitors on bikes.
i just threw my first house party with people that just recently finished my 2 weeks with on 7/12, and i was nervous as the time got closer and closer to when people were supposed to show up that i had a thought of "what if no one shows up" luckily 8 or so people showed up so it went well. I am super introverted so for me to do something like this is huge.

In high school I joined the cross country ski team in my senior year. Which was maybe not the greatest choice as I was a noob competing against guys who had been doing it for years. At one of the early races (maybe the first in the season? can't quite remember ... I think it was a 10k, or maybe 15), I was trailing well behind the back of the pack. By A LOT. To the point where I couldn't see anyone. Eventually at maybe two thirds through the course (purely guessing here, I think it was around an hour in), I came to a fork in the trail ... with no indication of which way to go. No sign, no arrow, no volunteers/staff pointing, just two paths heading off into the snow in a seemingly empty forest. And both forks were heavily used so it wasn't obvious from looking at the tracks which way was correct. I could hear some faint noise/cheering off in the distance from the area near the finish line (several km away) but it was impossible to tell which path led there. Turns out that whatever volunteers had been there to direct racers had decided everyone in the race had passed already, so they left. I stood there physically gassed (and now mentally stressed on top of that) trying to figure out what to do for a while. And eventually just had to choose a direction at random. It ended up being the wrong one, and after a while the coach and assistant coach had to come out and search for me, struggling on alone hoping I was still in the race. It was pretty brutal.

im not here to hijack your comment, but saaaaame. i started watching mxr mods right as i was getting into skyrim and it was insane seeing Henry's growth and the relationship of these two continue to develop. if i didn't live halfway around the globe, and i had the money, i would definitely show up to a meet-and-greet. i wouldn't consider them friends since this whole relationship transaction has been purely one-sided (they know nothing about us individually, that's somewhat parasocial behaviour) but i can empathize with the feeling of close-ness of being their audience for so long.

8:39 they do this for every long distance running event, they shut it down after a certain amount of time and if you don't finish in that time then your a DNF and your time isn't recorded, or else people could just walk the entire way and then brag they finished marathon, also they are usually ran partly on public roads and they have to reopen the closed lanes and pull up all the pylons, its not much of an effort if there isn't a time limit. but why does it matter to someone like that lady, she still finished, what does an inflatable finish line matter.

There is a lot of stress to having a kid, and a lot of new stress when having a second one because you don't know what the new dynamic will be. My spouse and I had our second daughter when our first turned about two, and she was worried that she wouldn't be able to feel the same depth of love for her second because she had already spent two years loving the first. It made her sick to her stomach worrying if she would always love her second child less than the first simply because of timing and outstanding circumstances.
It's been two years since then, and none of those worries or stresses have come to fruition. She loves them both unconditionally and no longer feels that fear because there is no more unknown. I just wanted to say cut the lady some slack because just like a lot of people have a hard time understanding their own emotions (such that we have things such as mental health professions) it is the same in situations like this where you know you are expected to love your second kid, but when your entire life up until that point has been solely focused on your first, it's hard to imagine being able to multiply that again because the love you feel for your own kids is just so unique.

For context to that Doordasher's ex story, I've been driving with Doordash for years. As a driver, all of your metrics are averaged percentages based on your last 100 deliveries. You need to fail to complete at least 20 out of 100 deliveries to even be considered for deactivation (or to maintain 80% or higher completed).
I've had several falsely accused failures over the years, and a quick chat with driver support to clear things up is enough to keep you going. Most of those were pre-Covid when taking confirmation pictures was not required.

This was pointed out by a lot of content creators that tiktok doesn't really foster the same fanbase and community compared to twitch or youtube. Tiktok algorithm doesn't reward content creators for their follower count. It's all about keywords and how viral their videos get. If you follow them, you will see them less on your for you page.

When I was in elementary school I did cross country because my best friends mom made him do it for exercise and I wanted to support him. I was the worst runner in the grade and was slightly overweight and awkward, so distances were really hard for me. I remember doing one race where I was so slow that I started being passed by the first guys from the next race. When I finally passed the finish line, they gave me an 8th place ribbon, and 8 had t9 awkwardly explain that I was actually the last place contestant from the race prior. To this day I hate running. Thank god I was a good swimmer, and did much better on the swim team!

I work in the ICU with a slew of nurses. We don't boast about it all over social medial. As Henry said, "You think you're life is hard? That patients life is over." That nurse needs to get back to her station or head to the break room. Not make a video. Patients get D/C'd or expire. We move forward. Other times we gotta block it out.
With 1.91M subscribers, I think MxR Plays having a meet and greet at some convention would have a good turn out as long as you'd advertise that you're gonna be there. Not just with the subscriber count, but at just how dedicated this fan base is to you, I know people would show up for it.

I played it to my friend as he layed on a hospital bed with a broken leg and hip from a motorcycle accident. We all, including him, had a good laugh. He made a full recovery.
With the nurse doing a TikTok, it’s really disgusting honestly because both my parents are nurses and they tell me how they lose patients from time to time but they never go around making about themselves.
There was only one time where I ever saw one of my parents genuinely hurt by the loss of a patient, my mom had worked New Year’s Eve as she worked Night Shift and she had a really sweet older gentleman as a patient. Apparently after midnight past she was about to leave his room to another and he turned to her and said “Happy new year Ms. Rita”. She said the same and left. In the morning when she got home she was crying because it turned out he had died in his sleep that night.

My ex-wife would always ask if we could go to Johnny Carinyo's Italian restaurant. Its clearly spelled Johnny Carino's. I corrected her every time she asked, she said "Its like how you would pronounce tortillas in Spanish"...btw, I'm Mexican. And what does Tortillas have to do with it? Yes, 2 LLs next to each other in a Spanish word make a Y sound, not so in Italian. She has a college education. It irks me when she says that each time. Then she corrects me with Spanish as well. Not as bad as my co-worker asking me to get her some General Tee-so (Tso) chicken from the nearby Chinese Restaurant. She got so embarrassed when I told her you don't pronounce the letter T in TSO. "I've been ordering it that way for most of my life! General Tee-so Chicken" she said.
