- In this QUAH Sal, Adam, & Justin answer the question “I know you are not fans of wrist straps, because of losing the potential grip strengthening. What about chalk, liquid, or powder? My hands sweat a lot and chalk seems to help with that, but I don’t want to hinder my grip strengthening.”

Use wrist straps when your grip fatigues or for super heavy pull type lifts. Using them for certain exercises like the leg machines or back exercises could help tremendously to focus on muscle-mind connection. However, chalk should only ever be used at the racks as it gets everywhere and is rather difficult to clean.
Liquid chalk is the way to go!! 💪🏼🤙🏼
Always great content!
The only time I use a belt or wrist straps is when I try to break PR or when I up the plates for the first time. I then drop weight and remove my belt for the rest of the sets.
Thank You. I'll Go Back To Utilizing Chalk.
When I want to work on grip, I do grip focused exercises. When I want to focus on my muscle group and use heavier weights, I use straps. I never understood the logic of loosing gains in dead lifting or wtvr exercises because you are worried about grip strength........
Used chalk for the first time today. Grip improved, but damn its messy!
use liquid chalk
Jokes on you! I saw a guy wearing lifting belts at the streets hahaha
I’m quite new to lifting weights and have noticed my hands sweaty. Is dry or liquid chalk better to purchase? Sorry for noob question but I haven’t been able to use either to know.
Both are fine but dry chalk is messier, dry chalk is cheap as hell too so id prolly start with that
Dry chalk is significantly better but you cant use it everywhere. Liquid chalk will do the trick in gyms that dont allow chalk as there is nothing really left over
👍🏻great stuff !!
however turn on the cc and about 1:00 in it gets funny i think your video editor is messing with you guys🤣 something about aliens and missiles 🤣
I'm buying chalk for my heavy t bar rows I've never used it
My hands get sweaty af that sometimes the bar starts to slip when I’m benching. ”maybe I just have shit form”
I know this comment was 8 months ago so you may have already corrected this, but i used to have the same thing happen when i benched. I stopped using "suicide grip" and wrapped my thumb around the bar everytime. I also found huge benefit in imagining a line from the bar, into my wrists, and into my forearms. When i focused on keeping those aligned i quit having issues with the bar slipping. Then my problem turned into wrist strength once i got into the heavier weights. I now use wrist wraps when i bench at 85% or more of my 1RM.
@@Alien00420 yeah I don’t use suicide grip, my palms would start slipping side ways, I just started using chalk when benching and that solved the issue cuz then my palms wouldn’t be so moist.
Nope, a belt prevents hernias. It is very beneficial.
Probably so many people on social media platforms wearing straps and belts because they’re selling straps and belts. Cha-Ching.

You need straps to do an actual full bodybuilding workout. Grip won't last session....
Yep, but only use it when your grip starts to fail
Will it help ease callouse pain when deadlifting?
