  • This is an #Eflite Power 15 #Brushless #Outrunner Motor alternative I’m testing out with a Castle creation Sidewinder 4 brushed/brushless compatible esc.
    The motor is 950kv so it should have a decent low end throttle speed, it is also only rated for 40-45amps so be cautious, the drag brake seems to work fine I’ll look to test something more steep.
    Some reasons for this test:
    Tinkering
    Torque benefits
    Sounds different
    Low speed
    Weight distribution
    Had fusion 2 in 1 but wanted more weight forward without having to purchase more weighted parts.
    Outrunner motor has less weight so I can focus the esc’s weight location to be build critical. The Outrunner motor helps with allowing more setup space and for clearing links when skid is at or lower then axle height, which for some motor lengths will be in the way of some moving parts.

    SW4 esc beep code:
    * * - = radio glitch
    The throttle curve through the esc programming was adjusted and I think the expo on the transmitter is causing the glitch maybe I don’t know power is cutting out but not throwing lvc code, the light bar was an indicator of something going on. Maybe time for better radio?
    Update: yup it was the expo adjustment I did on the transmitter that caused the beep error reset to zero and, no beep error yay.
