Once it was the trading center for the southern region but now it is a shadow of what it once was, beautiful but ghostly. Thank you for watching.       Haha yes of course. My favourite picnic was way in the middle of nowhere in North Iceland with my wife and kids, surrounded by nothing but lava. Like a picnic on the moon.

      Yes Iceland is the best country in the world and Iceland is the safest cleanest most peaceful country in the world and Iceland is the most developed country in the world. Iceland has the best and highest standard of living in the world.

    You just can tell that its a remote place, the landscape reminds me of towns in chilean patagonia. I hope some day i can visit your beautiful country. Cheers from the southern tip of the world!

      Apart from couple of main cities, most towns in Iceland are quite remote. That's what most people go there for: to see the amazing landscape and feel peace.

      It's a very interesting town. It used to be the trading centre for the whole southern region of Iceland.

      Hi Hank I use a gopro hero 7 mounted on a zhiyun gimbal. The audio is just the basic gopro microphone, I might do an upgrade on that later.

      @@IcelandHotSpots Why use a gimbal if it has hypersmooth?

      @@AshwinRamdin The gopro has hypersmooth which offers good stabilisation but it isn't perfect. The gimbal provies further stabilisation reducing my up/down tilt and makes right/left panning smoother.

    When were all the trees planted??
    I was there from 1981-83 and there were only a handful in downtown Reykjavik.

      I used to live on Keflavik NAS and the only trees I saw were mini evergreens, no more than four or five feet tall.
