  • Stokkseyri is a small village in South Iceland with a population of about 5-6 hundred people. In this walking tour we will explore the village and the nearby beach. Here are the highlights of the tour:
    09:20 - Roðgúll, house built in 1926.

11:00 - We will now enter Þuríðarbúð, a fisherman hut dedicated to Þuríður Einarsdóttir. This is where she lived and the conditions of her living space.
13:04 - The grey house on the left is Hafsteinn, the first house made of stone in Stokkseyri, built in 1910.
    13:35 - Stokkseyrarkirkja church, built in 1886.
16:42 - Straight ahead is Gimli, built in 1921, a former meeting house.
17:23 - Draugasetrið, a museum of ghosts, elves and northern lights.
    18:05 - Fjöruborðið, a langoustine restaurant.
18:45 - The red house is called Hausthúsið (House of Fall), built in 1896.
20:05 - Garðhús (Garden house), built in 1890.

This walker/videographer is amazingly steady on his feet (I think it's a he-from the shadow), and with his camera. Trekking on lava rocks is sketchy at best. Lovely little town, Stokkseyri. Someday, I must see it. Thank you!

Probably avoiding the cold so I wouldn't go out undressed if you don't want to catch hypothermia.
