I read A Thousand Splendid Suns in my junion english class and LOVED it!
The boy who was raised as a dog was one of my favorite books! I’m a psych major, so maybe that’s why I liked it, but it provides great insight into the effects of trauma. Definitely recommend to others who would like to be more trauma sensitive and aware. ❤
As Long As the Lemon Trees Grow by Zoulfa Katouh was my favorite book of 2023!

Colleen Hover is a great start, but if anyone reads anything by her i'd suggest doing research on why she's so problematic and similar authors to her that you could read!

Latte art is about the consistency of the milk and if it’s too fluffy it won’t make art but if it’s thin as paint when you’re steaming it then it should be good art 👌🏼👌🏼💗

Latte art! You need less/more even foam and to create ‘micro-foam’ which is about how you introduce the air and how you prep it before you pour. And then it’s just practice!
Wand position - to find the right angle to steam, keep the middle of the wand in the spout with the end of the wand just off center - when you steam the milk should swirl in a circle.
Introduce the air right away with the steam wand, and then concentrate on getting the swirl/vortex.
When it’s how hot you want stop. And the secret - you can always fix the milk! Tap the pitcher on the counter to get big bubbles out, scoop out some of it got too foamy, and swirl the milk in the pitcher until the milk gets shiny.
Try for a heart first!
Hold the cup with the fresh espresso at an angle. Introduce a steady stream of milk from a few inches away and then get really close to the espresso. Go for a blob in the middle and follow through to get the heart!
It’s also easiest to do it in a cup you’re filling to the top!

For the blue bottle get the vanilla saffron as the latte it tastes better! The NOLA chicory ruins it where the latte actually brings out the floral of it
Anything from Freida McFadden. Such good twisty thrillers. I also really like the boys of Jackson harbor series by Lexi Ryan! Such good stories about a large family as they path through life. ❤
The kite runner is even more heart breaking , he is so eloquent and is able to describe the characters and their feelings and relay them on to the reader . It's even more touching to read these days because it's more about war and afghanistan and these days the world isn't any better unfortunately so it's good to remember how painful war is to be able to empathize more with those who are still dealing with it on a daily basis .
Former Barista -- I was never great at latte art, but I can tell that your milk is too frothy, which is a good place to start. For the best latte art, only aerate the milk briefly, like 2-3 seconds. This way most of the milk is still liquid and there's only a small layer of foam on the top. Then tap the milk pitcher on the counter until all of the large bubbles dissipate so you are left with a nice, small layer of microfoam :)
Bone broth cocoa. Brilliant. I make my own bone broth, and this would be such a great way to have a nice cup in the evening. Amazing - as a big reader, i love videos designed to bring more to the well lit (because it's best for our reading eyes) side. :-)

A heart is probably the easies latte art. And honestly just watching videos and practicing over and over you can actually practice with food coloring water and milk so you aren’t wasting coffee (unfortunately you would be throwing out milk) but that’s what my husband did to learn. I however still am rusty but just watch as many videos on it as you can
If you like historical fiction I reccomend Ruta Sepetys and Anthony Doerr. For fantasy that also feels like historical fiction I reccomend Divine Rivals by Rebecca Ross ❤

I think like you said since we got a sense of that in our teens we know what good writing is now compared to people who don’t read regularly and they are now because of TikTok but don’t know there’s so much more to offer than C.H.
