Twenty-eight years ago, Helloween made its debut on Brazilian stages as one of the attractions at the Monsters of Rock festival held at the Pacaembu Stadium, former home of Corinthians, in São Paulo. The album at the time was “The Time of the Oath” (1996) and the lineup included Andi Deris (vocals), Michael Weikath (guitar), Roland Grapow (guitar), Markus Grosskopf (bass) and Uli Kusch (drums). In 2023, the reality is different: as a septet - Deris, Weikath, Grosskopf, Sascha Gerstner (guitar), Daniel Löble (drums), Kai Hansen (guitar and vocals) and Michael Kiske (vocals) - the pioneering power metal group returned to Brazil for a new edition of Monsters of Rock in the capital of São Paulo - to be held now at Allianz Parque, home of rival Palmeiras -, promoting the still recent “Helloween” (2021), the first fruit of the new and promising phase.
