Yeah, it's so hard to be sure you're being clear and nothing gets misinterpreted... I've had anxiety disorder for a while, but even before that I was used to write in long, carefully punctuated paragraphs... I've been texting since the days of MSN Messenger, and my style has barely changed... only adding a few textisms here and there, and using text emoticons, emojis, pngs, gifs and stickers to convey the exact emotion without room for misunderstanding
Yeahhh same. I've always been a combination of grammar and paragraph texter hahaha. I often have to clarify with people that I'm not upset or anything. And that I just reflexively use grammar. I've had a few people get annoyed at how long winded my texts can get. But maybe that's just because I often run in circles where English is their second language. X3
I've noticed that typically when I text, I use a mixture of all of these things. I don't use emojis very often, only every once in a while, and with very specific ones. I tend to use perfect grammar as much as possible, texting or not texting, and stress out if I get something wrong. I think it is mostly just something that I do because of my social anxiety, and I don't want to come off in a negative way. I also am a fairly energetic person, at least about the things that I feel strongly about, so I tend to get much faster typing skills when texting, whenever I am talking about something that I find to be very exciting. I also tend to send a lot of paragraph texts, and end up going on a tangent by accident, accidentally overwhelming people with my text messages. I feel like a lot of different traits from each of these segments mentioned apply to me.

I change texting styles, depending on the current situation. For example: If I'm in the middle of something, then I'll use textisms, but if I am doing nothing, then I'll do the paragraph style. When I'm talking with a close friend, I often use emojis with textisms. also these are just examples 😅 and btw i sometimes change styles in the middle of writing, so it can be confusing 😅
I feel like a lot of people change their texting personality depending on who they're talking to. For me it's a matter of trust. Once I develop a bond with someone and become close enough to them to be willingly more open with them, I'll generally be more lose with my texting, not bothering to correct any grammar or spelling mistakes I make, and being more generally open about how I text. If I'm talking to someone I don't really want to talk to, I'll usually respond with concise one or two word answers unless it's a question that needs a longer response. I don't want to come across as rude and NOT respond, but I'm trying to pass off the hint that I don't want to talk to them. Then if it's someone I don't know very well, I'll generally be a lot more closed and formal with my texting style. Of course there's a few language things that carry over no matter who I'm talking to, but it definitely changes from person to person. Edit: Thank you so much for all the likes and replies everyone! Yeah it also depends on the context of what were talking about. If we're joking around in my group chat I might be more loose with my grammar and not send as long of responses but if were talking about something serious I usually send longer messages and make sure to use proper grammar

My texting personality is different depending on the person who I am talking to, I am introvert and don't text that much when is a new person or an unknown, with friends and family I pay attending to grammar but without the point at the end, some emojis, and detail text.

Honestly, these are all just strategies I’ve picked up to convey myself well over texts. I’m a grammar nerd and a paragraph lover at heart, but because of that, I realize that texting is a different form of writing and has different rules, especially when talking to different people who lean one way or another with these different styles.

AMAZING VIDEO💕💕 I find my texts a mixture of three of the types. -The one who uses emojis -A who cares about grammar -The one who writes long texts. I usually write very long texts and I always try to write correctly, avoiding grammatical errors. In this comment I don't know if everything is right, because I'm using Google Translate, since my native language is not English; I can understand English well and speak XDFFFVY but as everything is very different from Portuguese I prefer to use the translator when writing. As for emojis, I try to use them whenever possible, so people don't think I'm being cold or discouraged. I'm generally a cheerful and lively person, so I want people to understand me that way when we chat over text. I just didn't put many emojis here because I don't know where I can put them, otherwise there would be a lot more. I highly doubt anyone has read my giant text this far.
Communicating with my friends with a mixture of correct grammar, including periods. But also with emojis and memes and gifs. But I'm introverted and not a chatty person who likes to socialize with a bunch of people in person. And it really depends who I'm messaging with or texting so I don't have a set texting style.
Funny story, I once told my friend she was “lazy” on text as a joke, and she took at the wrong way and thought I was serious and being rude, I was trying to explain to her I was being sarcastic and saying it jokingly, this led to an argument but she soon understood what I was saying, I’m thinking about trying to text with emojis next time so she knows my tone

I'm a blend of different ones but the one I related the most to was paragraph texts 😅 The main problem with writing paragraph texts is basically no one else that I know really does it. It is just another reason for someone to find me annoying, but I like to give all the details on one little thing. I think I do this because I tend to think of multiple answers or ways to look at one situation instead of just one fixated way so I like to give details on it. Also, if I do only think of something one way, I try to give all the reasons why I think of it that way in case someone else has another opinion and hasn't thought of the situation or question the way I have. Basically the only time I write short texts is if I don't know what to say about something or I don't think there is much to say on a certain topic
I use perfect grammar when texting but not because of the reason in the video. It's because when I was a child, I joined a Roblox "army" group. Basically a group where you partake in trainings, tryouts to be in a division in a game. In the group you needed to use perfect grammar so that's where that came from. It's now just turned into a habit of how I write. When I type, I usually use grammar because I am used to it, not because I am logical in thinking.

Stiff Cliff Its not really like that, it's pretty simple, make an accurate estimation of how much milk u need, then think about how big ur mountain cereal should be. Factually it's more about if u want ur cereal soggy or not. If milk is out first, the cereal won't be able get soggy unless stirred real well for a bit cuz the milk isn't on top the cereal. But if the cereal is out first. The moment milk hits it, it should be drenched in milk making it soggy, then as u eat u stir so it makes it almost like a goop

When I text I like to try and be bubbly and friendly! :) I use emojis/emoticons and use exclamation marks I also am a textism texter lolol I usually add extra letters in words, like: Hiii!! Ommgg Whattt- But if I’m texting with someone I really don’t like I usually have perfect grammar and spelling. I think you may have missed one, the "Visual texter": its when one constantly uses pictures, gifs and emoji to express ideas and emotions. I do this myself alot since im very visually driven but also mixed with paragraph text.
I’ve noticed people who have troubled family backgrounds often use ‘lol’, ‘haha’, or ‘😄’ extremely often when texting, even when not usually appropriate. It feels like by using these, they’re trying to dismiss their own feelings as trivial, so that they can ignore them.

I do not care what everyone thinks of me, whether or not I put a period in my texts. I will put a period everytime, because that is how sentences work.
i tend to use a lot of textisms, but mostly because my thoughts are very sporadic and whenever i'm conversing with someone, these mini texts do allow for gradual responses so i can change what i'm talking about on a whim also just kinda adds a smidgen of humor- and i'm not one for Super Perfect Grammar (see my lack of capitalization and punctuation), mostly because it doesn't convey my kind of thought process and it feels almost professional
I use perfect grammar and type in paragraphs. I also got into the habit of adding emojis, because I find it helps a lot in conveying tone, plus it gives them a bit more levity so I don't come across dry in or overly serious

I think I am a blend of paragraph and one word responses. It depends on how much I have interest towards the person. If I don't have an interest I will make the conversation short with responses like "Alright", "Makes sense", "That so?", etc. But if I do have interest, I will send paragraphs of text because I enjoy telling a lot about what's going on at that moment. My friends say I am weird because of that and I should send short texts because most people won't bother reading them. There was this one person I met online, had known her for 3 years, met through a game. I enjoyed talking to her a lot, about daily stuff, about life and future goals. We both texted in paragraphs and It was fun. You are right about two people having matching text patterns does make the conversation enjoyable. She doesn't come online these days, its been a year now that she has been offline. She probably is busy with her life and am happy for her but I do miss the fun moments we had together! I don't know why this video was recommended to me but it made me remember about her.
It’s always been difficult to tell how someone is trying to convey their texts, so when tone tags became a thing it made texting a lot easier. Especially since in my community and friend group, we all struggle with text tones ^^ I also like to add flare to my texts by adding two exclamation points and putting spaces between most punctuation except commas :>

Sometimes, It depends. For example: the CZcams comment section. When it comes to things like Social Media or Video Sharing Websites, people will think out their comments a/o tweets (or whatever website you use) I believe it's something like a first impression. Unlike texts and DMs with my friends that I've known a while, they're more quick and snappy.
This is why I prefer to talk with people face to face. If I could I would never use texts, you can misunderstand so much information and also overthink too much. During a conversation, the non-verbal language gives us more information than the words the other person is saying, so yeah, In a way I feel blind when I write to someone. Edit: Grammar

I agree; although, it depends on who I'm talking to. If it's small talk or just awkward conversations, then I'd opt for it any time. If I'm with a very good friend, however, we have a better conversation, even though we still write long essay letters to each other every day.

I find my texts a mixture of three of the types.
-The one who uses emojis
-A who cares about grammar
-The one who writes long texts.
I usually write very long texts and I always try to write correctly, avoiding grammatical errors. In this comment I don't know if everything is right, because I'm using Google Translate, since my native language is not English; I can understand English well and speak XDFFFVY but as everything is very different from Portuguese I prefer to use the translator when writing.
As for emojis, I try to use them whenever possible, so people don't think I'm being cold or discouraged. I'm generally a cheerful and lively person, so I want people to understand me that way when we chat over text. I just didn't put many emojis here because I don't know where I can put them, otherwise there would be a lot more.
I highly doubt anyone has read my giant text this far.

I'm a blend of different ones but the one I related the most to was paragraph texts 😅
The main problem with writing paragraph texts is basically no one else that I know really does it. It is just another reason for someone to find me annoying, but I like to give all the details on one little thing. I think I do this because I tend to think of multiple answers or ways to look at one situation instead of just one fixated way so I like to give details on it. Also, if I do only think of something one way, I try to give all the reasons why I think of it that way in case someone else has another opinion and hasn't thought of the situation or question the way I have. Basically the only time I write short texts is if I don't know what to say about something or I don't think there is much to say on a certain topic
I use perfect grammar when texting but not because of the reason in the video. It's because when I was a child, I joined a Roblox "army" group. Basically a group where you partake in trainings, tryouts to be in a division in a game. In the group you needed to use perfect grammar so that's where that came from. It's now just turned into a habit of how I write. When I type, I usually use grammar because I am used to it, not because I am logical in thinking.
My texting style is that i use the word “lol” in almost everything i say to not sound rude lol

But if the cereal is out first. The moment milk hits it, it should be drenched in milk making it soggy, then as u eat u stir so it makes it almost like a goop

I think I am a blend of paragraph and one word responses. It depends on how much I have interest towards the person. If I don't have an interest I will make the conversation short with responses like "Alright", "Makes sense", "That so?", etc. But if I do have interest, I will send paragraphs of text because I enjoy telling a lot about what's going on at that moment. My friends say I am weird because of that and I should send short texts because most people won't bother reading them.
There was this one person I met online, had known her for 3 years, met through a game. I enjoyed talking to her a lot, about daily stuff, about life and future goals. We both texted in paragraphs and It was fun. You are right about two people having matching text patterns does make the conversation enjoyable. She doesn't come online these days, its been a year now that she has been offline. She probably is busy with her life and am happy for her but I do miss the fun moments we had together!

Sometimes, It depends.
For example: the CZcams comment section. When it comes to things like Social Media or Video Sharing Websites, people will think out their comments a/o tweets (or whatever website you use) I believe it's something like a first impression. Unlike texts and DMs with my friends that I've known a while, they're more quick and snappy.

This is why I prefer to talk with people face to face. If I could I would never use texts, you can misunderstand so much information and also overthink too much. During a conversation, the non-verbal language gives us more information than the words the other person is saying, so yeah, In a way I feel blind when I write to someone.
