How i "master my beats" right out of the mpc live mk2 or mpc one. i tend to mix and master all in standalone using my mpc live as my main sampling machine and arranging my mix then i run out my stereo mix into the electro harmonic platfom stereo compresor for mastering then i run into my Analog heat by elektron for my final touhces.

Impressive sounds coming out of this little box, great demonstration!
MALO.. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for uploading this!! You and Marlow Diggs are the only producers I've found on CZcams rocking the Analog Heat and the MPC Live 2. I'm picking mine up from Guitar Center Friday, and I can't wait!!🙏🏾✊🏾💚
Oh man, I’m excited for your brother. I honestly only covered about 30% of what this thing can do there’s so much more to it but these are the most used settings that give some awesome character to my tracks.
So today is Friday and I was thinking about you since you mentioned you were going to pick up the heat today, I hope you’re enjoying it brother and I’m excited for you. Nothing but love and blessings.
So how you finding it after 5 months ?? Still excited ?
I just want to say i appreciate you man and your insight, and tips, but specifically your character. A lot of times producers will have their secret sauce and keep that hidden, and focus on selling aspiring producers and longtime producers on gear and plugins that they themselves never use, but all your videos are always so helpful and easily understood. U a good teacher. And it is appreciated. You a real one.
Thanks for sharing Malo, always a pleasure to hear your music and the quality of the sound you produce. Loving the setup you got going 👍🏼.
Thanks for sharing your process!
Found you on IG bro. The quality of this video is ELITE 🔥🔥
Just copped this. Super excited
Awesome job. I have an A.Heat MK-1, hope to use soon on my mixing.
Good job bro I bought a analoge rythm and got hooked on elektron. I actually have been using the exact same set up with the harmonix stereo compressor ending with the heat and then print. I spent yrs worrying about stems and tracking each track individually to print. When I saw your video it was very inspiring to see someone else doing the same. And l Iike you said it sounds good and it feels good. I must have a hundred processing plugins only to use none of them anymore lol. Keep going bro your channel is dope.
Really appreciate you for this man!
🔥🔥🔥 Analog heat wasn't really on my radar. I've seen it but not as a mastering tool. Thanks for another great video!
Love your work always down to learn cool new stuff thank u MALO 🙌🔥🔥🔥🔥💯
Hey brother, thank you so much for taking the time and sharing your input this really means a lot. Love and blessings to you
Dream of a self made producer has come true!Dope content broski.Thank You for droping these jewels!Big up from Poland!
Brother, this really means a lot and thank you so much for taking the time to share this feedback and also hanging out with me in this video. Nothing but love and blessings to you 🙏🏽🙏🏽
@@malobeats Much love and respect brother!!!Sharing is caring!!!...and you are spreading knowledge that ppl want to charge for or keep it a secret...Many of us are on a low budget trying to achive that quality sound without losing a momentum while being creative!!Great minimalistic setup with warm colourful soundscape!
Great video Mr Malo
Great video! Thanks 🙏🏽
Thank you so much for taking the time to hang out with me on this one. 🙏🏽
Great review
Great vid man! I need to get my hands on the Analogue Heat for sure....
Hey brother, appreciate you dropping by. The Ana like he has definitely been an improvement to my standalone workflow. I’m pretty sure you’re going to resonate with it.
@@malobeatsI’m back here a year later and I’ve finally just ordered one haha. Thanks for the demo again. You sold me 😅
This is my style of workflow man! The heat has been the next piece of gear on the list. I was going back and forth between that and a mixer but i don’t think i actually need a mixer
Hey brother, listening to your style and the sound that you have with your workflow I’m sure you would love the analog heat. So far it just adds that minor touch flavor that takes my beat to whole different level when it comes down to audio quality.
@@malobeats yea an I’ve been toying with the idea of ableton but after just a few hrs messing with it I was kinda over it. It’s feels like I’m at work staring at a computer screen.
Analog Heat is such a beast. I feel like it is absolutely underrated.
Nah… we ALL DO NEED an Analog Heat 😂. That thing is fire!! Great video and great beats! ✌🏽
Hey Jonatan, dude the HEAT really is 🔥 I love the sound
Watching the video in the car plugged into Apple play…. Sub was going crazy with no distortion!! It’s all stock stereo 🔥🔥🔥
Love your fun philosophy
Another 🔥 info
Hey brother, thank you so much for the support and feedback. Appreciate you taking the time. Much love and blessings to you
I needed this thank you 🙏🏽 never used a daw don’t wanna start lol
I used to mix in the daw which has so many benefits but I have much more creative flow with this setup
I was thinking on changing from a PC setup to produce, to the standalone stuff and the Akai.
But seeing this, was like open my eyes to a different workflow, a fun one. I'll try to have my way, but I'll inspire from this for sure
Yo, I’m glad this resonated with you and don’t give me wrong there’s a lot of advantages to working in the DAW but I find to be a lot more inspired with a standalone workflow so that’s very important for me. Thank you for taking the time and hanging out with me in this video. 🙏🏽
@@malobeats I find it very hard to sit down at the PC to produce after a 8 hours shift in front of a PC haha.
It has to be appealing to my eyes, and your setup looks fun as hell
been wanting the heat to run my mixes through that compressor is a good idea
Hell yeah I love my Analog Heat MK2 it’s the secret sauce for sure
You said it in perfect words, it definitely lifts up my overall mix. Thank you for hanging out with me in this video. Much love and blessings
Now we're talking! 😊
Excellent video!! Hey Malo, I have both devices and practically do the same when I export my whole tracks to DAW, but I run first the Analog Heat and then the EHX Platform. Would these two ways affect the sound different?? I mean, better compressor first or after??
Great video bro. I'm experiencing the same thing, I have tons of plugins but mixing in a DAW has taken the fun out of it for me. I tend to spend way to much time mixing and tweaking that by the time I'm done I don't even like the beat anymore lol Currently I'm in the market for a analog mixer, a cassette tape player/recorder and maybe a compressor. I'm gonna mix the beat in standalone, print to tape then dump it in the computer to limit and upload.
That’s so dope, that workflow and mixing straight from the heart since it’s not overly cooked. I really love this small stereo compressor I’m using here but I definitely want to try out some other ones down the road to see what else there is.
Thank you for doing this video. Been trying to figure out how to do Mastering with a box just like the analog heat. Now that there’s a new version out that has plus fx could you do a video on the new analog heat plus fx and show how your mastering set up changed after using it.
Hey Malo, great content! I've got a question. As always there is an order in applied effects. Is the EQ on the Analog Heat before the saturator in the chain? Or is it after the saturator in the chain? Depending on the order it would impact dynamics in a different way. Or maybe it's possible to change that order on the Analog Heat device?
Hey, got inspired by your setup and bought a few pedals myself. Would you recommend using a noise gate pedal as a limiter?
Great vid Malo. I've been wanting an Analog Heat since it came out. Want to trade my Analog Rytm mk1 towards the Heat to use with my MPC Live. Just to be clear, how would this be wired up for use in standalone? ..as you have it set up to your audio interface for the vid..
Hello. Really interesting! Do you plug your monitors at the end of the chain which would be the output of the Zoom recorder?
Yes my man MALO! love this video, have you tried the sp404 mk2 into the analogue heat?
I’m dying to try this out LOL, I really like the compressor the SP has and also some of its different texture effects. Thank you so much for this 🙏🏽
@@malobeats still waiting for my pre order 404 mk2 ...... the wait is killing me 😂
@@malobeats Yeah I would love to hear that. I was thinking about getting the Analog Heat because then my other bus Efx could be free. Plus the Analog Heat is class compliant so I could use it as an interface.
Thanks for the vid. Where and how do you print the tracks? Can you feed back into mpc and record it ?
Hi thx for those tips, taught to add that kind of spices and th choice is tuff have you ever tried the Oto Boum?
I've been looking for a budget glue compression option to do some light work while adding some color. How does this compression sound compared to using the 404's before the analog heat?
Good Video and Explanation 👍 I have the Same Setup, where in this Signal Chain would You insert the 404 ? Mpc->404->Platform->analog heat ? 🤔
11:08 Sounds like a system beating down the block, the one that makes everyone stop and stare 😌
these little compressors will be the future in studios.
Love your videos mate - informative, inspiring and fun. How do you deal with copyright clearance for samples when publishing through DistroKid? Cheers!
I was wondering the same thing.
Hey Aaron, great question and I’m glad you took the time to ask since I get these questions asked quite often. I would highly recommend using trackLib ($50) to clear your samples first and then you’re able to upload to distrokid and they will take care of the rest when it comes down to distributing your track to all major streaming platforms. They will still release your music even if you have not cleared your sample is just at your own risk if somebody were to come and noticed the sample but if you want to do the Safeway like I mentioned I would definitely recommend TRACKLIB for the sample clearance then Distrokid for the releasing of your track, I hope this was helpful and I will be making a video on this specific topic very soon. Nothing but love and blessings to you
@@malobeats thank you Malo, much appreciated. I saw Ricky Tinez's use Tracklib in his latest video. Very interesting concept but I guess you lose the element of digging for samples? I'm nowhere near publishing yet mind! Thanks again and take care bruv
Do you do anything to measure the loudness of the final beat before you ship it out? That's an area where I'm not sure how to go about finalizing a track because I've read so may things about how mastering is a dark art.
Hi malo do you feel that with the Anlog heat the sound is even better then the old mpc?
been lookin at this equipment for quite some time...is it possible to run each drum out piece by piece to get that dedicated sound? i see alot of ppl use it for mastering purposes than anything
Hey man i just bought my first MPC a Live mki.
Please could you tell me are all your leads to pedals same as in TRS balanced or mono? Liked and subbed will be watching back your videos for sure love the channel ❤
I have a question Malo . I am looking your video from Colombia and my english is not perfect yet. After this heat process when you export the stems After this process each stem will remain with the processed sound or it only works when you export the beat as a whole wav ?
Cool - more good reasons for an Analog Heat. In general, would you recommend a compressor/limiter on the master out, before plugging into a live venue soundsystem?
Yeah man the heat is awesome, well this small platform compressor also has a limiter which sometimes sound good but I don’t use it all the time. This entire workflow that I go over in this video is near perfect for me the only thing I’m missing is a good limiter but at the moment I have to do some research to see which one would work good in the signal chain.
@@malobeats yeah cool, thanks for the insight. I've heard that a limiter is recommended for bigger gigs / soundsystems, not necessarily just on the MPC, but in general. Keep up the good work
You convinced me to get the analog heat and the compressor pedal. You got some expensive gear bro
Also have the Heat, with a Digitakt, Digitone und Model:Cycles-- in view Days also a MPC One-- iam very proud i did this over 700 Euro‘s buying ^^ genius device
hey Bro, on the Platform compressor..the bypass switch is harder to press then the drive switch...is this normal ? feels like my pedal the bypass switch is more like a hard press to activate it and the drive switch is really soft...or did i get a faulty unit ? i also have a slightly popping noise in the mix when i press the bypass switch
thank u bro
would love a video about the platform!
Man, I was dying for somebody to pop in with this question lol I actually have that video just for you, I have not launched it publicly but if anybody else is reading this here is the review of the platform compressor czcams.com/video/BPo-tjCw56k/video.html

@@malobeats oh wow great!
That Elektron is a beast
🔥 it’s been awesome
great stuff, just found your channel today. you say the heat is the last thing your music touches. Do I understand you use the heat as limiter too then? to get the music up to volume for streaming platforms?
nevermind, you answered that in your last part of the video. What limiter do you use?
This is such a great question and at the moment I feel like I’m able to do everything in standalone mode except for when it comes down to adding a limiter that is the one last piece of the puzzle that I have to go back into the daw to get. I have been using a combination of the ozone 9 or the l2 by waves
@@malobeatswhy not the limiter in the mpc live 2?
Bro you a crushing the life out the beat if the compressor. Now if it has a mix knob, you can compress the poss out of it and set it to 50% dry wet but in my opinion, you can backup the threshold to maybe get -2 to -4 dbs of gain reduction and then hit the analog heat hard and it will give you track more air and life
That’s been the difference between this compressor versus any other compressor i have worked with using the daw I’m able to crush this one and it still sounds very forgiving, the only thing I wish it had is a side chain filter to maintain the low frequencies which it does not have but I’m still able to add that punch after. So far I’ve been enjoying the sound of this even when it’s crushed all the way, it might be a personal preference but definitely works for most tracks.
Fire bro. Where do I pick up this Elektron? Do you mix each track in standalone first or just run through the Elek on you final mix? Thanks
Hey Eric, that’s such a great question on the mixing part. I like to do my mixing inside of the MPC using its plug-ins then once my mix sounds good I do this external process that you see in this video as a final touchup. but on a sidenote you could pick up the electron if you go to the link in my description you’ll see that it’s on zzounds.com and also through Amazon I personally like zzounds a bit more since they will hook you up with better deals when it comes down to payments I would definitely recommend them.

I saw Chet Faker saying something similar about the Heat. It's got a nice saturation.
But how do you get royalties when your tracks consist of samples and is it a matter of if and when someone claim copyright issues you deal with then?
Love your channel by the way your definitely teaching many mpc skills
can you print this back into the mpc somehow or when you say “print” does that mean when you go into a daw
Such a dope sound man, but I got one question : why the stereo compression extra if you can compress within the analog heat? I’m doing trap kinda beats and really wanna go dawless because of the fun aspect you talked about, just got dull and boring in a DAW.
I got limited funds (as most ppl) and really questioning what would be the best extra to my MPC live 2 to get the most out of it sound and quality wise. Analog heat sounds great but the price is like another live 2 😭
What could you recommend?
The Analog Heat is not a compressor. It uses that envelope trick to get a similar effect as a compressor. So he's running the MPC into the pedal to get a little boost and "glue" from the EHX pedal and then adding color and more boost from the Heat. I'm not an MPC guy, but I bet you can achieve most of what he's doing here with the plugins you already have in the Live 2.
How do you get your final song out of the Analog Heat. Why didn’t you use the MPC 2 compression.
I was looking for a hardware compressor and ended up getting the "EHX Platform Stereo Compressor" because the Heat and OTO Baum where to expensive for me. But now i see that I still want the Boum or Heat 😛
The more I use that compressor the more I fall in love with it, this combo has been amazing but I know this he could be a little pricey. That’s so funny you mention the OTO since I just had it for a few days I had to give it back to my friend since it did not have headphone output and I’m usually making music in a little corner with headphones lol
Question..i know its quite expensive...but have you heard of the helix hx stomp pedal...thing looks a beast...if so.. what you think or can compare to the pedal in the video
Except for being less expensive of course...seen what you can do on analog heat now I got GAS...lol
This is such a great question and I’m glad you took the time, I actually have another piece coming in that is very similar to the analog heat but not as expensive so I will be comparing it hopefully by next week it’s called the BOUM ..
Was deciding to either an sp404 mk2 or the helix hx stomp line 6 pedal...but then I'm gonna have to see if I can trade my mpc one for a live 2 for more outputs and portability
@@malobeats nice I saw the price on Sweetwater for analog heat and was like omgg...lol..$$$$
🔥🔥🔥
🙏🏽🙏🏽🔥
Yo! I got my Analog Heat Today!
For a master chain I would prefer
EQ->Compression->saturation->limiter
Can the heat also be used as a limiter? Using the envelope follower?
Grate question, I would look in to the new Analog heat FX. I believe that one let’s you set up your signal chain in that manner you are mentioning.
Is the pedal worth it with just a mpc one and a interface?
If I only have pedal. What pedal did you suggest. Love from France
Hey brother, depends on what you want to use it for but for your master bus I honestly love the stereo compressor that I’m using in the video, simply because I’m able to slam the compression and it still sounds very good buy retaining the lower end.
🔥💯
🔥
Sounds great but its too expensive for me unfortunately. Thank you for the video buddy
Yes yes yes
OMG this little EHX compressor acting like 2K Empirical Labs distressor
I’m glad you mentioned this and it’s funny because somebody was commenting on how much compression I was adding to the final mix but it sounds so good that I tend to leave it the way it is.
Here’s a video that I never released but it’s on the hex comp czcams.com/video/BPo-tjCw56k/video.html
@@malobeats your beat sounds amazing!
What db level wud u hav that go into the daw before the limiter is added?
If I’m going to add a limit in the doll I usually like to give myself a few decibels of headroom so I would be peeking at around -5 to -3 db then just all the limiter to bring my over all mix to about -.5
🎉Fun🎉 the secret ingredient!
Hey Malo! I found it hard to judge the use of the compressor pedal cause the compressed signal was louder than the uncompressed one! Louder Trends to always sound better and mislead our ears. Peace and love from Germany ✌️
Thank you so much for taking the time and sharing your input with us here. Much love and blessings to you 🙏🏽🫡
@@malobeats Thx Malo 😎! I really need to compliment you on your progress soundwise. There' s definetely a "Malo Beats" sound and that' s very rare nowadays where so many people do that BoomBap or lofi stuff. And I really digg the asthetics of your videos, they look amazing 🧨🔥
@@MakingMadBeats this means a lot. Thank you for taking the time brother 🫡
Do you use analog rytm?
I prefer the compressor after the analog heat
Not only did I pick up the MPC One.. now you're telling me to grab the Analog Heat 😂.. Seems like a nice one to have in the chain for sure! Awesome video Malo 👊🏻
is the platform analog?
Are you recording to a SD card ?
At the moment I am just printing my final mix down into the DAW which has been great.
Have you noticed any latency? Both tools are digital.
I haven’t ran a deep test on latency but from me playing back sounds I haven’t noticed any.
His lying BUY the analog heat 🤣😂 I can't wait to get on Marlow Diggs got me hooked
Hahahahaha that let me know you watched the video to the end👍🏼 lol. Now I’m hooked and can’t live without it lol
Heat is cool but price is quite high tbh. iZotope Trash 2 going to do the trick for me until I have more money to throw at my setup.
This could have been a 5' video and be as informative
Hi, thanks for the super dope video. I got a question. What are the cons of Distrokid?
Hey brother, this really means a lot and thank you for hanging out with me in this video. I’ve been using distro kid for many years already and have not really found any cons personally. It’s been pretty straightforward as far as uploading your music and distro kid takes care of the rest from distributing my music to all major platforms within about 24 hours or so which has been such a fast turnaround time I honestly cannot think of any cons that come straight to my mind. Hope this was helpful. 🙏🏽
Sounds great, wanna buy it, and I mainly just master and mix for other people
Hey Malo! Does it make sense to run the sp404 trough de analog heat?
