Alton Towers for me. Due to the fact that I’ve grown up with it probably but I think it’s more aesthetically pleasing to the eye with all the gardens and towers, but I’m sure Thorpe park is great too and hopefully I will be able to go someday! ❤️🎢

I love the theming in Alton Towers. Nemesis is my all time favourite. Thorpe has a wider variety so both are good for different reasons

I grew up with thorpe park, nemesis inferno and the swarm are some of my favs, but omg the smiler is the best coaster I've ever ridden, and that kinda outweighs the familiarity of thorpe park
Alton Towers I grew up with that park I made so many memories there it’s always in my heart❤ I’ll never forget the time I went in 2023 that was my first time 🤩 I love it because it’s my local park❤
Alton towers feels more like a 'theme' park with better theming throughout the park. Although swarm has the best theming of any single UK ride.
Towers also has more, and better Rollercoasters, but Thorpe Park has a great selection of flat rides.
Its difficult, but Alton Towers just feels a bit more special, especially if you stay in resort and enjoy water park, spa, golf and resaurants.
Cant wait to find out what SW9 is. Hoping for a ride similar to Cosmic Rewind.

I would have to say alton towers is my favourite atm because of Smiler but it might change once Thorpe park has the tallest rollercoster in the UK.

I'm from belgium and here whe have something called 'Kazoo' (yes, like the instrument) its a vacation for kids and stuff but i went to the uk with them and went to Thorpe park so i only know the rides there

Alton Towers, I grew up with that thing. Its got this magical feel to it, Thorpe just doesn't have that same vibe. I think it's more modern, despite opening 1 year before Towers.
both good choices but my favourite would be..... Chessington! Chessington has a lot of rides for people who like fast rides but don't want to go upside down. and I just can't get enough of dragons fury, vampire, crock drop and cobra
Yes!! Currently at Chessington now, probably my favourite park too! So well themed and the rides are super fun for everyone!
@@attractionsbeyond wicked! I was there on my birthday 14 May this year, I'm thinking of trying to find a theme park with a ride that has one inversion so I can see if I can get over my fear, the new ride there doesn't count because it goes backwards. I hope you enjoy Chessington!

Alton Towers. Feels more magical, even if it’s lost some of that over the years. Thorpe Park feels like a collection of rides in a small space, but I LOVE Alton Towers dedication to theming
I went to alton towers once and to thorpe park twice. Loved alton towers while thorpe park didnt blow my mind. It bothers me that thorpe park doesn’t have a theme - the area looks just like a piece of concrete with a bunch of rides, it’s small. Alton felt a lot nicer to walk around. Also the fact thorpe is close to london there’s lots of people always and mostly really annoying kids who wanna jump the queue, which i didn’t see in alton towers.

They’re both good in their own ways but for me I prefer Alton towers. It’s my home park and even though it requires a lot of walking it’s so fun!
I feel like Alton towers you get a feeling of Being in a proba theme park , a bit like universal , of course universal is better! But you get that feeling it’s hard to explain I’m sure other people relate!
But Thorpe park is basically just a bit of land with great rides!
and galactica the worlds first bnm flying coaster ,theres nemesis, europes first invert ,octonaughts one of the only zamerlas in the contry and theres rmt and one of the uks only spining coaster spinball whizzer
Worlds firsts don’t mean anything. Both parks are great but I would take Alton Towers over Thorpe Park any day if the week. The overall experience is better and rides like Nemisis despite not having records are my favourite. Although with Nemisis closed for re-tracking currently, my decision may be slightly closer than normal

Trust me you do not wanna go on oblivion or thirteen, thirteen is actually a scary ride even for the minimum of 1.2 cm but it is a big drop comparing to that size and don’t forget the drop under the floor and going backwards but oblivion is scary as it goes up and drops down all the way till it goes underground…
Secret: the Hyperion used to be the longest rollercoaster 🎢 in Poland as it went all the way so far not even I can see it from the park as it goes from the park till the end of the parking lots!

When I was younger, alton towers cos it was this magical far away place (I live in London) and thorpe was on my door step so could go whenever, now though I think I'd have to give it to thorpe park, stealth is just next level

Alton Towers. More rides I love and just a better day out. I do like the rides at Thorpe park but it doesn’t feel as family friendly, was there when there was a stabbing and overall atmosphere is just not as good. Saw is one of my faves though
Alton towers. I think it just has alot more to do and has more thrilling rides. But on the other hand, thorp parks scare festival gets me every time.😂 Both brilliant parks

My home park is Thorpe so I have been there countless times more than Towers but I do think that there is probably no better one because they are both amazing

Mine would be Thorpe park as they have better rides plus Chessington world of adventure's is not so far away from it and I can go to Alton towers any time plus I get bored really quickly if I go too many times there
If you had asked be before this season I would have said Towers but lately it’s been really lacking. It has minimal permanent flat rides, it’s using funfair rides and some of the rides quality just isn’t there, for example the smiler is deteriorating rapidly as it is looking quite worn out and it’s beginning to get quite rough. So for me it’s gotta be Thorpe. Thorpe has a great mix of Flat rides and coasters and they are all well kept.
Towers for sure
Alton towers is better but thrope Park has always been alil closer so we mostly went there. Having said that thrope Park is a very close second and almost just as good. It really comes down to alton towers being more magical and over all better themes. If your a thrill seeker though thrope Park has some intense rides though, just try both. I would advise going alton towers on a week day or a Sunday as its pretty big and you might even need a 2nd day, but it's possible to do all the good ones in a day.

The wicker man was one of the worst rides I went on I was so excited and you know bc it's rough I nearly twisted my neck after coming of that ride I felt that I had pulled a muscle right on my shoulder and all the pain was going threw my neck

Thrill wise. Thorpe Park wins hands down. Alton towers is much more tame in terms of thrilling rides and is more geared towards younger audiences whereas thorpe park has more thrilling rides for adults to enjoy
