Have you tried an Aventon yet, they are very good quality with great variety
Great review, I looked on line at these bikes and I trust your opinion greatly! You do a great job on your videos, straight to the point and very well thought out in your thinking on the product and projects. I really love the content in your videos. Thank you so much for all your hard work. I look for all your videos and advice.
I really appreciate the kind words.
Another awesome video! You really do great videos…quick, to the point, and no BS!
Thank you!
"HEYBIKE". Man, these foreign manufactures aren't even trying to name things decent. Nice bike, but pricey. I'd consider it seriously though just because YOU recommended it!!! 🤩👍👍👍👌
I appreciate that. There are definitely some odd company names for sure. If you ever get one be sure to come back and let know what you think
What was the name of "Have Gun, Will Travel" Paladin's servant in San Francisco? Hint it started with "Hey...."
Haibike is what it's called in Germany which means shark. They changed the spelling for the US but not the phonetics
@@pwindle are you serious? Interesting !
@@shazam6274 hahaha
My son just picked one up and he loves it. I can easily agree that these seem to be quality bikes
I am 6' 4", 225lbs and I have this bike. The range I get is about 30 miles with throttle only and about 50 miles using PAS 2 and 3 with very little throttle. The bike weighs about 80 lbs and is a tank but it is not for smaller riders
I bought one of these and It's a great bike, but I did change out the seat. If you're a shorter person, this bike may be too big for you (I'm 5'6" and had to get a different seat to be able to touch my toes to the ground.) That said, it might be pricey, but it's a TANK. I feel like if a car hit me, the bike would be fine, but the car might be totaled. It's super solid.
I use it for a short commute (~3 miles on some really hilly terrain) and longer rides to my sister's about seven miles away (also a very hilly ride.) The range on it is no joke and a big plus if you're looking for that.
After 8 months would you still recommend it? I'm considering selling my expensive car because I work from home. Most of my trips would be similar to yours (3 miles to the grocery store, or max 15 miles to visit my brother).
What diameter was the seat that you bought? And were you at least able to pedal with the original seat
@@TheHealthMetropolis I think the post for the one I bought was 25.4 and was a little small, but I happened to have a shim that added a couple mm so it worked.
I could pedal with the original but wanted to be able to put at least _one_ foot down.
Great ive been looking for good reviews of Ebikes thanks
I bought the heybike Ranger and it’s been great. I started to get a bit of range envy from the explore until I discovered I could wire in an additional battery pretty safely and easily. I still only have a 500w motor but I have easily over 100 miles range with pedal assist and over 70 miles throttle only. I’m happy
Hey Bike...I was looking into getting an E-Bike, thanks for the recommendation. 🚲
Much appreciated, I think if you get one of these you will love it. This one really surprised me.
I saw "for BIG BOYS" and IMMEDIATELY clicked 😂
😀
I think the price is very reasonable, then again I am a mountain biker and think nothing of spending well over five thousand dollars for a bike. I live in two states rural New England and outside NYC and I see lots of e bikes and people seem to love them. My friend just purchased a real mountain bike that is pedal assist and he paid close to ten grand. He lives in Vermont and loves to mountain bike but hates to climb. Pedal assist bikes are huge in Europe and getting very popular here too. Nice review, thanks
If you're going to get an electric bike, I'd go with a local dealer/manufacturer. That way you know the quality will be good and can take it in to get the tuneups.
Ive been looking at a couple. One Im looking at also has rear shock system. Have not made up my mind over all.
As a big boy who wants an ebike, this is a very helpful video

Did you test a Lectric ebike? I would interested in your feedback if you did.
Nice! I have thier smaller 500 watt 20 inch fat tire Mars model.
Thank you, thats great to hear, hopefully you are liking that model. This one very much surprised me after so many bad experiences.
What's your take on Radpower machines, boss? They seem to get rave reviews at about the same price point BUT they also spend a LOT of cabbage on advertising. Wondering if that's one of the 22 you sent back...
4:20 damn thats your driveway? Nice big driveway
i own a heybike brawn and i love it. i ride it to work every day. ive had it since august of last year and already put 1500 miles on it. its already paid for itself.
i love the seat!! sure i agree it looks weird...but it once of the most comfortable bike seats ive had in about 40 years of riding bikes. i was really impressed with the heybike seat
only one flat tire in 1500 miles :)
I've been looking at E-Bike's but I think I'll wait for black friday
Are the tires really puncture resistant as advertised?or are they air?
Excellent bike .
Agree about the odd looking seat. Kinda looks like a butt itself. 😄
I'd love to test this by pulling a kid carrier cart, it may be perfect for pick/dropping off kids at a close school.
Looks cool how much? Wow i found the link to Amazon $1600 I'm sure that number is slightly flexible but, still 1500 to 2000 I'm sure is falling into that price range. In my eyes thats a basket case Sportster or a medium to full size Japanese used cruiser so maybe good for many RUB type riders cool bike n video.
is this bike watherproof?
like can i use it in strong rain?
Nice hey there!!!
Think I got the 7th comment!
Great bike
Peddle power for cardiovascular health thanks 👍
LOL That Seat
I can't decide if I want to get an eBicycle or eMoped.
This video makes me want an eBike tho. 😁

I want one
good looking bike
Their site claims up to 28mph. Were you able to get it going that fast?
I got up that high, there are some options you have to manually change though. there are tutorials on youtube how to do it
Did that involve pedaling?
What's great about it also is the price point
Does it have regen?
Hey in your description it says that you reviewed a pool robot in the video XD I think you copy pasted the description from the last video but forgot to change the item.
@Steve Sherman ok
Definitely invest in a Second battery to bring on Longer trips
I believe most average racks cannot hold that kind of weight. My 2 bike tray style rack is rated for under 80 pounds I believe.
Love the look just not the price.
Cool 😎
Surprised the brakes are just mechanical and not hydraulic for such a heavy (a 100 lb pound is just crazy) and powerful bike. Disk brakes that squeal most likely means the pads have been contaminated with oil or grease that transferred form the rotors (even just touching the rotor with your bare hands can contaminate a rotor and then the pads when you use the brakes). Best to clean the rotors with some rubbing alcohol and a paper towel before riding the bike. Also, disk brakes need to be bedded in before using the bike for a regular ride. Bedding in is relatively quick and easy, just coast down a hill and squeeze the brakes a bit, but not so much you come to a stop and repeat, the goal is to heat up the rotors and pads (it takes usually about 10 times on a mountain bike, I would guess the same for an e-bike). Gradually you feel the brakes bite more.
for that price i would expect dual motor, or abit more top speed.
I believe that many states restrict ebikes to 750w so there is not much of a market here for bigger motors.
I'm curious as to the weight of the battery.
27 pounds
Honestly I expected it to cost significantly more. I could never see myself joining the small motorbike world to save gas when they cost 7-10 thousand. This competes in my opinion
You don't get a motorcycle to save gas, you get a cheap moped.
It’s not expensive once you look at the category of e-bikes. These Chinese bikes are in the low end. I’ve got another brand myself.
Only good if you are a do it yourselfer since they don’t have a lot of shops dealing with these. Yet.
Great video, just a word of caution, a lot of these lithium battery products are causing fires in peoples homes or garages. It’s very difficult to determine if battery is not compromised, while charging or just not being used they go into thermal runaway and catch fire.
I would recommend anyone who is considering these transportation alternatives to educate themselves on all aspects of owning such products.
Keep up the great videos SC.

I never charge a e-vehicle battery unattended the first few times. If a battery takes a good hit or fall, I consider it untrustworthy. They make flame containment bags to charge these in also
wut colures duz it cumin
How to lock the bike up so it doesn't get stolen? Why not make a separate video on ebike security and parking availability etc. ?
If you've got a good bike already you could convert it to a 750 watt mid-drive for less than 1k if you install the kit yourself.

Come assembled or do i have to put it together
It needs minimal assembly but you have to put on the front tire, handlebars and pedals. It will take about 40 minutes alone or 20 if someone can hold the bike up for you. All tools are included.
I'd love one, but I'm afraid someone would cut the lock & throw it in the back of a pickup truck while I shopped for groceries. I know I could take the battery with me, but that's the easy to replace part.
The key will also stop anyone riding it away but you would need to lock it up for sure. With this much $ invested I wouldn't be leaving it alone much to be sure.
Give me a Trike any day. After I saw the bruising between my legs, to HELL with 2 wheel bikes, don't need blood clots, neck pain, shoulder pain, already have 2 pins and 6 screws in my lower back, don't need the wrist pain. All of this was goodbye when I went to a Trike, I love my Catrike Dumont.
Do you think this bike will work on sand/beach?
Some sand yes, but I dont think it can drive on dry beach sand. My driveway has a mix of both and did fine but all sand, probably not.
That looks nice but the charge time is really high
It is really an overnight charge, slow compared to the power stations I show but typical in terms of ebikes. With this ones capcity you won't be charging every day for sure.
Price isn't bad if your replacing a car. No gas. No maintenance. In today's market cars are very expensive
That's my plan. Sell car.
If you take the battery out, can you still use it as a regular bike?
You can use it as a regular bike even with the battery in it. But yes if you wanted to shave the weight you can pedal it alone.
@@SilverCymbal ok great 👌.
I was more so asking in case I still had the battery charging but I needed to run a quick errand with just the pedals and not loaded battery.
@@darthenx2585 riding a bike that weighs that much with zero assist better be downhill only. :)
How much does it weigh without the battery?
102 total, battery is 27 - 75 lbs for bike alone
Big bike!
Heybike has a smaller step through the Ranger. I have the Mars.
I thought my driveway was long. Didn't realize driveways could be measured in tens of miles!!
My driveway is 1/4 mile so not that bad. The road is about a mile of dirt that I am off of.
@@SilverCymbal The privacy must be amazing. Also can't wait for the lawn video coming up. Felt very optimistic last fall after overseeding but this spring wrecked my positivity to the point of hiring a good lawn care company to help out. After way too many hundreds of dollars with nothing to show for it, I'm prepping for overseeding again after some weed control sprays. Can't wait for your upcoming video as I need all the help I can get.
I just bought an Aventon Aventure. 102lbs would be a deal breaker, and my bike is only 73lbs, already heavy.
My Trek Verve+ eBike is 45lbs.
it is 77 lbs. The shipping weight is 102, not the assembled bike.
We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. czcams.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!
I went 70 miles and had a half a battery left on mine… Kepler, built like a military Jeep…
You live in BFE lol is the bike made in China? What’s the weight limit? I’m a fattie
This or a Honda for the same price?
Registration, insurance, gas...
puts pep in ur step
Looks like something designed for the military. 🙂
I agree, I like it
How much price in Indian money?
About 1.4 lakh
Is 750 watts enough
Not a lot in terms of say an electric heater, but in a bike its almost too much power seriously. I kept it on a middle setting and I was flying
In many states 750w is the legal limit for an ebike, I understand that it 500w in most EU nations.
I don't have any extra money for anything like this! I'm a disabled veteran and I'm on a set budget.
@Steve Sherman I have been for years! When people say you need to get all these expensive things and you don't have the money because of bills caused by bullshit. I'm not asking for shit! I stated that I'm getting things a little at a time. All you're thinking is I'm trying to get free shit! I'm building a hand blower out of wood and leather because it's cheaper than the metal one! Nut up on another idiot! Stupid ass clown!!
$1800 is standard for a GOOD 750 watt fat tire ebike.
I agree. The price is not out of line.
I bought my 2002 Yamaha vstar for $1,500.

The price tag is too high for me. Holly cow!!
It is a lot. all of the ebikes are very expensive, but cheaper than a motorcycle. I still love using the electric scooters (skateboards). Not as expensive and you might not look as cool but still a lot of fun.
$1500

My Heybike arrived damaged. They want to send me the parts, have me buy the tools and fix it myself. I looked up reviews and that's their policy. Good luck if it arrive broken, worst customer service ever.
While it looks great, for that money you can literaly get an actual motorcycle or even a nice used car like an E46 3 series, e-bikes only make sense up to 500 dollars.
True but in the US you need a motorcycle license and of course a motorcycle is faster but these require no extra license, at least at the moment.
@@SilverCymbal not to mention you save money over the long run with an ebike since they don’t require as much money in “fuel” or maintenance, and since you’re biking you’re also getting healthier which saves money in the long run.
Both of those require insurance while this doesn't.
Ummm what're you talking about? This bike is only $1,500. You could get an e46 3-series with a blown engine and blown transmission ;) this is a great deal for the speed and range.
Try riding a real E bike for a bike store, all the major bicycle brands make them now. They are more expensive but you get what you pay for.
Which brand you would recommend, I still don't see most traditional bike companies making them. They kind of seem asleep at the wheel to a big market.
Cannondale, Trek, Giant, Specialized. They all make them. Some mountain bikes some road bikes and some comfort. And they make this heybike seem like a bargain.
Here's another plus for you loyal Americans - Haibike is owned by Winora AG, which is part of the Dutch Accell Group, the biggest bike company in Europe. Designed and manufactured in Schweinfurt, Germany, Haibike invented the Electric Mountain Bike (eMTB) in 2009 and are “widely regarded as the Market Leaders”. YOUR CHOICE - Chinese crap or German engineering.
This thing looks to much like a motorcycle….to big and bulky, might as well get the real thing, plus it’s just a matter of time before they are banned from bike only paths as they should be.
Many fat bikes, even non-powered ones are this size. I wouldn't be using this on small bike paths but on road and dirt roads are ok with me.
Bicycles max out at 28 pounds, with most being about 18-21 pounds.
This ebike is 77 pounds.
Dirt bikes run about 200 pounds.
Kind of a muddy middle weight but over twice as destructive as normal bikes at the same speed.
Wow that's a great attitude there bud. Must be the spandex crowd. You ought to be thrilled people are out biking.
@@macmcleod1188 it is not as much when you add the weight of the rider

Lol 😂 for big boys. It's a girl's bike. 😂
Not able to charge wirelessly not interested.
I don't believe there are any bikes that charge wirelessly, wireless charging while convenient loses about 30% in terms of time and efficiency so it's not great for high output devices
