This man is not 'Africa's Che Guevera'. He is Thomas Sankara and he is second to none. There will never be anyone like him ever again.
That's right
African So-call Leaders wants Money they do not concern of the Peoples, they concern fulling their Bank Accounts, look at Nigeria, Nigerian Senators are the Highest Pay in the Entire World & look at their peoples that votes for them....
Why is he compared to such?
WORD
Only Raila Amolo Odinga of Kenya
Sankara is NOT the African "Che", he is the world's Thomas Sankara.
Exactly!
Well put.
And he was pro-vaccines, meaning that he was logical and accepted science!
Exactly rather “Che” is the Latin American Sankara.
@@lekenaso1946 Sankara was inspired by Che and Castro so no
He his not African Cheguevera. He is Thomas Sankara Say his Name.
Yes even Che Guevara should have learned a lot from him!
Clickbait title.
Nati Tad.... Don't get offended Nati. It's just a saying. No one is scaling down Sankara.

Respect from russia. You can see videos on youtube of sankara in ussr. Sankara is known as a hero in russia. Respect to a great man🙏
Woooow Russia knows about this African legend, I'm really amazed
Even in the year 2020, he sounds lightyears ahead of his time. Woww what a revolutionary leader. No wonder the colonialists eliminated him soo early. Yet he had so much more to offer. What he did in 4 years in his early 30’s 40 years ago in a place like West Africa still not possible in many parts of the world today. Yet we live in information age. I salute you sir! and will make sure mychildren will learn about you.
His friend did. Marxism is only good for corruption.

@@rationaloutlook5772 Well said!
Thank you.
GOD bless Thomas Sankara.
The Struggle goes on.
I am really gonna remember him for my whole life, what a great leader he was! Love & respect from Pakistan💟

Respect from China. Sankara is a true hero to his people and his country.
I have love and the utmost respect for Ernesto "Che" Guevara, but you insult Thomas Sankara by calling him "African's Che Guevara." Unlike most revolutionaries, Sankara actually governed. And governed well.
The Comparation I guess, is due to many Principles Sankara has Raised which are very well formerly by others Written and when we speak about it, cames Che in the topic. But i think you are Right very well, Sankara was a President! but very well one, unfortunately, the fascist don't sleep, came in our house and kill us stell. The Africans have to wake up and dont allow that!

Thank you TRT for being the only non african channel whom gives enlightment and historical facts about what really happened in Africa.. Much Love and Salute from Istanbul to All African's
Definitely and without the slightest doubt, Captain Thomas Sankara is the most noble, honest, decent, most visionary and the greatest man to have walked on contemporary African soil, to lose such a wonderful man means to have lost one of the greatest hopes we ever had. To seal this post of mine, Sankara is not Che, Sankara is just way too big for that, Sankara is Sankara the brightest example of what we should ALL follow, continue to rest in perfect peace O noble soldier.
You just said the thing. To great men, the country will forever be grateful.
This is what I've been saying. Who cares about abundant natural resources when you import everything. True wealth is self sufficiency. This was a great man.
I'm American, born in 1974. I have never heard of him before. Thank You for this video. I'm going to have my homeschooling child watch this, do some resesrch & write me a report on him.
Don't forget the part where he murdered his citizens that disagreed with him.

Its a shame that I have never heard of his story like this even though i am o west African. Great leaders spirit surely never dies.
@PATRIOTE TVindeed I am, I now have the benefit on finding on my on
@David Harry-Ngonadi I believe we don't learn for knowledge rather for the certificates, along with the White color job that comes with it.
Because African education left to us by the colonialists teaches us parts of a grasshoper, history lessons are dominated by western events, they should teach kids about greats like sankara, samora lumumba just to mention afew
@@geraldjones8010, I know that for a fact because every time I talk about our African leaders I always put their country and their time ahead of their names cuz people always asked me who are they. it's really sad we don't learn our history. the African history.
Never too late to start digging up your history ... here is a start below:
Of course I remember him..:..pride of Africa..:-)Respect to Sankara
A Hero to Africa and to the Worldwide Revolutionary Struggle for working class.
A HERO TO AFRICANS BUT ENEMY TO THE WEST
Such a shame this forward-thinking man met such tragic end :( ! Thanks for this story, it's really inspiring and impressive!
Indeed, God is not to be blamed. He blessed Africa with heroes who wants us to be free from colonialists but they are all killed by the people they came to save. Qadafi, Odumegwu Ojukwu, Sankara, lumumba etc. May their souls rest in peace 🕊️🕊️
Imagine i was learning about America and WW2 instead of the history of my African brothers...
In what country?
In South Africa they feed us rubbish like Shakespeare instead of teaching us about these legends like Sankara
@@n.m6249 Mentality we are still really behind
@@n.m6249 this is so true😅😅😅. Yeah man why on earth didn't they teach us about him
Their is no question that France assassinated him, as it did with anyone that tries to free Africa from its still ongoing neo-colonialism
What a great man for his country BF. Thank you for bringing this history to our attention.
He was so ahead of his time. He was so intelligent. Truly sad story 😓😢
The world needs leaders like him
What a GREAT MAN!!! Where else will we find such a leader in Africa??!😭😭😭💔💔💔
Sankara is probably the one it’s easiest for non-Tankies to praise.
libertarian socialists and ancoms like him
are you a tankie?
He was a Marxist Leninist
Most of his politics were Africa specific though. Wouldn’t really help your country
Just imagine how Burkina Faso may have been if this man had lived on for longer. I'm sure the country would have been much more developed and prosperous, maybe even the most propserous in Africa and a role-model and inspiration for other developing nations. This man could have prevented the entierity of Africa's descent into corruption and incompetency single-handedly. Truly, as Blaise compaire said, it is such a pity, such a pity.
But Blaise Compaoré is the one that 'ordered' his murder inside Burkina Faso.
He is the best president the whole world has ever had TBH. nobody can stand his record. I think
😭😭😭 Our hearts are still 💔
The shock has never left Africa!
Generations born long after his assassination still feel the shock! That's the main reason why smart, well meaning Africans don't want to deal with politics!
Rest in Power, dear Sankara! ✊🏾
Wow ❤️❤️❤️ I love this man people like him can solve every world problems.
Hi
Rest In Peace ✌️ brother Sankara. You have departed but your spirit lives with in our spirits. Love from your earthly Somali-American
I see that Sakara's political brilliance came from his heart, from the true love he had for his people and nation. To me, Sakara's murder is why great empathy leaders like Sakara do not hold public office, an ultimate fear of the same outcome.
In the least, future people for all times can learn from Sakara's story, cry from his story, learn to be like Sakara, to continue his legacy.
Sankaraaa is our true leader ,love from Somalia
Man, i have respect for this guy, it's really horrible to have your own friend stab you in the back. Like the saying say keep your enemies closer rand your friends close
His friends were just a tool France is his killer.
He show's that a real leader always has actions to back up his promises and commitments
I will Call my son Sankara. Much respect for you in heaven
what a great series! thanks for making these!
Growing up in Accra, there is an entire interchange named after him. It was renamed to Ako-Adjei Interchange but now the whole area surrounding it is referred to as Sankara.
I love this man I didnt know about him...he was a real "MAN" and leader especially empowering women
I love TRT when he touches the native sentiments with such graetness.
Wow. This dude sounded like a genuinely good dude. Ahead of his time

Awesome. I have learnt more from this video than my entire wasted hours in school. Thank you. Sankara was right, foreign aid is the worst kind of imperialism.
All governments would benefit from learning leadership from Thomas Sankara 👏
Thanks TRT always learning from you
The only man postered in my bedroom. Hmmm, the ONLY poster in my bedroom. Ummm, the only poster in my house. Sankara, Sankara, Sankara
If there truly is a God, one day every nation and multi national corporation responsible for the suffering Africa and its people have experienced over the last 400 years will be held accountable in this life or the next.
He is one of my favorite socialist revolutionaries. A truly incredible person.
Wow what a great leader, an example to all leaders in Africa.
It's time for the African continent to rise. We need to wake up and find our voices. Enough is enough! We're tired of the imperialism, neocolonialism, and corruption. God has given us everything yet we're still where we are. Sankara was a great man and just like many great African leaders who were willing to serve their people, they were brutally assassinated. It's unfortunate.
Respect from Bangladesh. Sankara is a legend.
Sankara was ahead of time, all he was doing in 1987 is what Africa is trying to do in 2021, with little success, currently in Kenya, we have a call of ''buy Kenya build Kenya''.....which promotes the locally made products......in 1987 Burkina were already there
Thanks for enlightening us. Love and respect from India.
Big up TRT this channel is not bias and so informative 💯
Our Africa our home. Long life Africa
Europeans have always seek to eliminate astute African leaders like Isidore Sankara.
And assisting devils like Bokassa
I like to see his picture
Thamos Sankara was truly a good and great leader. RIP Legend.
Wow this guy was revolutionary leader.
Rest in peace Sankara. They killed a revolutionary but the ideas are alive in our minds. We promise to teach future African generations about Sankara
Nice informative video ... Good job trt for covering almost every story ....
They called him the African Che Guevara but Sankara was infinitely better and one of the greatest revolutionaries who saved thousands of lives
To think someone who doesn’t look like me. Is giving out unwatered down history of my people for FREE. 🙏🏽

Sankara is one of my hero's with James Connolly, Lenin and Che Guevara
He is a hero
He sounds like a dream
Thanks trt for this, otherwise i would never heared this story
Sankara was very clever. This is the type of person Africa needs. Not selfish, war mongering, murdering, looting, brainless leaders but someone who had a Vision, and knew that hard work is the only way to make and mold a Nation to achieve Success and have a future.

Thom Thom Thom Thom Thom Thom Thom Sankara you was our gift From God .From Tanzania
what a gentleman he was maybe the West were jealous of him coz they never had a real leader like Sankara
No the West isn't jealous they are just exploitative capitalists who would go mad when they see even the slightest tinge of red.
Heartbreaking
If u were to judge him off how he looks u would think he was a ruthless dictator who would do anything to stay in power but after hearing his story the saying “ u can’t judge a book by its cover” really is true.
When he said the 7 million people in his country are as good as him I felt patriotic for a country I never even been to
Your beautiful memories will lives in our hearts forever ❤❤
