My first test drive as part of the hunt to find my next car and Tony arranged for us to go check out an Audi R8 V10 Plus. As amazing as it was, it had some downsides which mean it might not be the perfect replacment for the F-Type.

This is what happens when you spend a lot of time around super cars on a daily basis: you become calloused, numb, less-excited and simply bored. It happens to all of you guys - look at Salomondrin, Shmee, etc., always wanting something new! Stop for a moment and relish the fact you are driving the greatest cars ever made in the history of automation - your comment of been bored after 6 months driving a 2016 R8 V10 plus and a Porsche 911 Turbo "boring".....really!!! I think you need to buy a car outright, not lease, and you will have more pride of ownership.
Freely and often admit this mad world of CZcams means we become numb to cars. Unbelievably fortunate to be around amazing cars on frequent occasions but I never take it for granted. Even in this video, I mention a number of times that I realise how lucky I would be to own a car like this and how incredible it is, but I have to be realistic to myself. This is the world I now live in. Why settle and not work hard to get something you really love. Lots of cars out there that make my spine tingle from £5,000 up to £500,000 and beyond, just about finding the right one for me

The R8 is one of my favourite cars, but for you Sam you should get an F430 so much more special! Sometimes I think an R8 is just an R8 but a Ferrari is something more.

buy either a maserati gran turismo mc stradale, lamborghini gallardo, ferrari 599, ferrari california, or a lamborghini diablo( yes there is one for sale for £119,995)or a lamborghini murceilago(£119,995) or a ferrari 550 maranello, ferrari 360 modena f1(£72950).

I dont know the r8 is great, sounds amazing, but i still think that a f430 would suit you better..even tho it doesnt have all the technological stuff..
F430 is so old and outdated... even compared to 458 and the new R8 is even beyond that. Things like gearbox and the infotainment and the performance. I don't think 430 is worth the money.

The F40 is also outdated but that is an amazing car. F430 would be sweet, even if it's lacking tech.
Obviously love the idea of a Ferrari but not sure F430 would 100% be the right one. An awesome car but when you're comparing it to things like this R8 or a 12C, it starts to look very dated on all fronts

911 4s, Audi S4, Subaru Sti. I enjoy all of them. The best part is driving one car for a few weeks, completely forgetting about the others and then getting back in another car and enjoying it. However, Audi V10+, plus a nice SUV would be a good life!

If you buy a R8 just buy the normal V10 and reprogram the ECU, them you get the 610 cv

My thoughts on the R8 are probably the same to be honest. Its EPIC and something me and many others would love to upgrade to but there is a huge element of familiarity about it and if you are looking for something 'special' is the R8 special enough? Possibly not, but a properly strong contender none the less. You'd be a long time getting board I would think.

ZigSteenine I am talking about now. McLaren execs see the 12C as a mistake. Look at how fast it was replaced, the problem was that it looked very dated when it was launched. The 650s was the first proper mass produced McLaren car it was considered the first launch car.
He's right, plus it's not very reliable and the bills are absolutely bonkers. The increadible suspension might be incredible when it's working, but when it goes bad it's a 35.000$ bill. New battery? 3.000$, any of the interior electronics? too bad, they hardly make them any more so you'll have to replace it with (brand new) S650 stuff, which means sky high prices again. It's not a problem when the car is under warranty but when it's not it is an absolute money pit. Ever wondered why the 12C depreciates like a falling brick? This is why.

The noise when you're driving over bumps comes from the bearing between the chassis and the suspension. I believe youre referring to the same issue that the S3 with magnetic ride has.
After Audi swapped the bearings of the rear suspension, the noise was gone.
you should buy the R8 dam, you're basically getting a Huracan for half the price.....
