- Promotional video of the the Carnival Destiny which was the first cruise and passenger ship to ever exceed 100,000 tons. She debuted in 1996 for Carnival and in 2013 she was relaunched as the Carnival Sunshine. The Carnival Destiny was the lead ship of the class and introduced a design that was copied many times in both the Carnival and Costa fleet.
Kathie Lee she did so good with this video she singed her heart out it was wonderful.
One of the best looking ships in the Carnival fleet!

Carnival made a great choice when they picked Kathie Lee Gifford. She brought so much energy to the company.

The classic Edd Kalehoff music. The composition, the instrumentation, the saxophone.. All just scream Edd Kalehoff who did Carnivals' commercial/promotional music of the '80s and '90s. I still believe he is one of the top musical geniuses of the past 50 years with what he's created and mastered for television, commercials, promotional videos, etc..
It's crazy how this used to be the largest ship in the world. The oasis and liberty class make this ship look like a rubber boat, but RCCL will eventually have to downgrade the ship size because if the ships get too large, no port will be able to store them.
Or they will just make the ports bigger
Royal will always find a way to make bigger and better ships .. carnival doesn’t have the money nor support to build a 200ton ship

Sunshine was my last Carnival cruise in December 2021. It was nice for its age.
This is one of Carnival’s best videos, hands down. My friend and I crack jokes about it constantly, especially YOU GOT IT!

Went on the Destiny in 2009 as a young child. Dont remember much of it, but, I do remember some things, like a few restaurants, the kid area, and some nightclub. Glad that they redid it and renamed it.
This is where I got my first job I used to be Part of the Caribbean Calypso band

A year after she became Carnival Sunshine, I cruised her on an 11 day Journeys Cruise. It was awsome!
I was just on her as the Carnival Sunshine. She's getting very tired.....she is the oldest ship in the fleet

... but man we had fun ...
There are a lot of extras these days, but you still get a lot that's included in the price. I mean there's no other land vacation that you get a room, meals & snacks, activities and transportation to beautiful destinations all included for a few hundred dollars a person. Cruises can be as cheap or as expensive as you want to make it. I've been on quite a few that I managed to not spend a single penny extra than what I had already paid before I ever boarded the ship...and I've been on my fair share where I've spent $1k on the ship 😬🤷🏻♀️😂
not all these bars and lounges are busy like they state,the lobby bar on the paradise was packed the first night and quiet the rest of the week.it all on the whim of the guest

Point After Dance Club. I went in 1999 was 18 back then and spent many nights in there people watching.
And now it sits under water with all the 90s music

It’s really sad what they did when they wreckovated the destiny class ships, that character and fun design by Joe Farcus is gone. New modernist whitewashed stuff is ugly and characterless.
