Not only was this Celebration my first cruise, but a time when Carnival had class and unique offerings and not the vacuum of mass humanity Carnival is today in the cruise lines persistent d--- measuring contest.
I adore these wonderful classic cruise line promo videos. I have a few on VHS from travel agents, but many more on line here.. thank you for posting this, i look forward to more.
Hey thanks for uploading this! Kathie Lee was my dream girl as a teen when these promo ads ran. I also love that it includes the full-version of the "If My Friends Could See Me Now " cover by her. THANKS!
And 1990 was my first time sailing on one of these Carnival superliners which was so much different than any other Cruise Line it was so futuristic and then Carnival came out with the fantasy which was like being on the Enterprise and this size of it was amazing back then it would Tower over the Norway in the oceanic and I was like wow this is a big ship to me they need to go back to the style cruising it was a lot more fun and elegant and you had a whole list of entertainment and food at midnight I'm like today when everything is pretty much closed except for pizza which is ridiculous!
My very first cruise was on the Celebration. I got this video from Carnival and watched it everyday for almost a year waiting for my cruise. I had the best time on this ship
Thanks for posting this promo. Post Covid cruising is ok but I forgot about the Midnight buffet and dressing up for dinner, no shorts in MDR, Caviar service, driving range at sea the 80's.
The differences between then and 2019 when I went, tons of upgrades and refurbishments but it was still so archaic! I've only taken Carnival cruises! I didn't take Celebration while it was still with the company but I had to try it when it swung back to the US-Bahamas Market! I hated HATED the Nickelodeon orange!
Carnival to me you should take a page out of your own book and get back to this style cruising it was way more fun elegant and easy going did you hear that dinner you could order anything you want set up now these guys try to put a charge which is not right you're already making the food so what does it matter also you see how you could order Top Notch stuff at midnight then I you guys need to bring back the midnight Buffet that is a tradition that needs to come back it was fun to do also noticed the shift and it closed down at midnight the whole ship was going at least it's you and 3 in the morning this is how it should be especially on elegant nights so Carnival definitely take a page out of your past when cruising was elegant and fun without all these made-up rules and the stupid very important fun person!

@@livingproof1984 There's one from the 80s as well - the detective! It's so hilarious!! And that channel has others like Festivale!! "Must Do Vacations" is the channel name - here's link to Holiday czcams.com/video/ppxIoQ5wDZc/video.html
Gotta love the classic Edd Kalehoff music.. The composition, instrumentation, saxophone solos, etc. all just scream Edd Kalehoff. He's the mastermind behind Carnival's music of the '80s and '90s.. Probably one of the greatest musical geniuses of the past 50 years. Numerous famous work in television, commercials, promotion/imaging, etc. The Price is Right (and many other game show's) theme and prize music, the whole famous "We're 4 New York" image campaign, Carnival's image/promotional/commercial campaigns.. Hundreds of pieces that would be instantly recognizable.
The ship that started my addiction to cruising. I sailed on her in November 1988 when I was a senior in high-end school. I sure miss the 80s
Cruising is fun! Sailing on ships is also fun.
Gotta love them floating petri dishes. Yum! 😋
My first time sailing on this style ship was 1990 and then the fantasy came out I believe in 92 or 93 and it blew everything out of the water!
Thank you for uploading this. Kathy Lee had such class and sophistication.

80's "have anything you like, never see a bill:" now in 2022, "let's have you sign for that!"
35 years ago. June 1987. RIP Mike Guarino. Great memories my dear friend.
"47,000 tons of fun" and the new Mardi Gras is coming in at a whopping 181,000 tons! My how far we've come in just 30ish years.
Cruising has completely changed since Celebration was built. At least, in regards to the main lines like Carnival.
When 733 feet was considered state of the art for a cruise. Now cruises are upwards of 1000 feet long. How we have really evolved!
This was mine and my wife’s honeymoon cruise in December 2005. Great memories... Hate to hear it’s being scrapped currently.
This was the first cruise ship I went on. I sailed on her in 2002. I can't wait to sail on the new one.
The new Celebration is a joke and does no justice to the glamour and offerings of the first Celebration.
The galaxy disco sounds so fun!!! Wish we could go back in time
great old ship! Ive worked there for 2 years! great times! never to be forgoten!
This ship is currently being cut up for scrap in 2021. How fast time flies.
Sadly she had a much longer career than her younger sisters Fantasy, Inspiration, Imagination, and Fascination.
Sad, there is so much life on those old ships being cut up in favor of ships with 3x the people and nothing to offer on onboard.
This was my ship in 93
I was on her or her sister the Jubilee just before they left Kockums Malmö where they were built. We got the grand tour
I miss cruising so much.... Darn covid-19

Oh the nostalgia! Love it.
My first cruise ship, Honeymoon 2001, it was a great ship ❤️❤️❤️
The birth of Don's Family Vacations.
The New Carnival Celebration is set to debut in 2022. it is sister to the new Carnival Mardi Gras
Thanks for posting this promo.

This video gives me
Love boat vibes ❤️💙🤍
the woman in the disco was super fly
kathy lee had about 900 outfit changes.

@@ilovecarnivalcruisechannel6541 I did see the Holiday video from the 90s I don’t find it as good as this one but it’s still cool. 😁
