- Today I am Fact Checking Mark Zuckerburg's Viral IG Video where he compares the Apple Vision Pro VS Meta Quest 3. This video is all just my personal opinion from my own testing. $3500 no way
AVP wins in the overall UI/UX category hands down. No question. I am a Business Management Consultant and I DO use AVP for work. I have found that seamless integration with my other devices and existing processes gives AVP an edge that my Q3 simply cannot match. I cannot FaceTime with 3 different clients while screen sharing multiple docs at once AND sharing my view IRT with Q3. Moreover, it makes something as simple as dragging and dropping photos and docs into iMessage a really fun experience. I haven’t used my Q3 in months. Since picking up AVP, it has not been more than 20 feet away from me. The only issue I see right now is that AVP is borderline addictive.
That’s 💯 correct. Mark is bias and unfair, that’s obvious. I don’t own APPL, only has Meta Quest 3 and a VP so I am much better positioned in making fair judgment. For professional consumerism, VP is much better than MQ3 in almost everything.
Apple still has this mindset that metal = premium even if it doesn't make ergonomic sense. They made the same mistake with the Airpod Max.

6:26 The eye tracking is a contributing factor because it just made things so much faster when using your hands with the AVP than with the Quest 3.

It honestly just makes sense. I hope all of technology realizes this and becomes open. Even in the gaming industry, Xbox is starting to adopt this principle

7:12 I don’t doubt that at all but as a newbie to all this I must say that I’m having the exact same issue with the Quest 3 and I hope that I get use to it because I feel like I suffer from this same thing the day after. I just got my Quest 3 not even a week ago and when I woke this morning and looked at my phone it felt like I was in the headset and I felt a bit disoriented in a way I can’t really put into words because I’ve never felt that before but I can totally see how using the AVP for long periods of time could really make you feel kinda crappy afterwards. In the demo I received I felt fine but that was only like 15 minutes but with an hour or more of use I’m sure my eyes would get tired.
Thank you for the video. I disagree with your argument regarding the lack of a physical controller for the Apple Vision Pro. Part of the allure of the device for me is the ability to interface with apps, simply using my eyes, voice or pinching gesture. The Minority Report experience is simply amazing. It is well executed, and futuristic.
I completely see that side of the argument as well! I think touch controls should be a prominent feature. That said, I think hand controllers should at least be an option as well. The haptic feedback they give when you interact makes the virtual experience so much more immersive. Glad you liked the video! Thanks for watching!
Great video. Thoughtful comments. But I didn't quite agree with the "Honda vs Mercedes" comparison in regards to what Mark had said. That comparison implies they do the same thing. For media consumption and productivity, it's a fair comparison. But Mark's point was that that the Meta Quest does so much more (as you said many times) and so he wasn't really talking about build quality and resolution.

The fact that so many Meta acolytes were silent while the AVP was lambasted for bad fit was pathetic! The Quest is unwearable out of the box! It’s ONLY 3rd party straps that work. APPLE has the better fit out the box but insecure little men couldn’t admit that.

I would totally agree with you if I wasn’t wearing an AVP and typing this with a keyboard right now. Eye/tap input is a feature, but obviously not for complex tasks.. You can avoid using it altogether for the most part with keyboard, trackpad, and controller for games.

I think his point was , to take your reference to them both being vehicles. one vehicle is super nice to look at but it doesn't drive very well. Nor is it street legal. So which one would you think is the better quality?
Depends who you ask. My dad was a race car driver and still has his race car. He's too old to race now, he still talks about that car. And his corvette that doesn't drive. Those types are different, that's why I say depends on who you ask. Those types will always pick the performance "hot rod".
Motion Blur isn't analogous to Motion Sickness 🤦🏾♂️
Even if the Vision Pro was the same price, I'd still think the Quest was better. The Vision Pro seems to be a headset with a very nice OLED screen, and that's it. The quest on the other hand has a lot lot lot lot to offer.
Why throw money at a product that you won't even be able to introduce into your workflow/entertainment time? Maybe the Vision 3 will have a big enough selection of apps. But it needs to cook more. Doesn't really hold a candle to the Quest.
As of now that is the way I see it as well. I am looking forward to the AVP having a lot more to offer. Then and only then will I spend $4000 on one
Great comparison! One thing Apple and its buyers care about is asthetics. If Mark can make the Meta Quest a bit more visually pleasing, it would win!
I’m always gonna choose a Honda over a Mercedes. Luxury and comfort (Mercedes/AVP) vs affordability and gold standard product (which is Honda/Quest). As a CEO mark gave is executive review of his competitors product.
8:31 That was the only thing I totally agreed with him on and I mean that only makes sense considering this is a brand new device for Apple and Meta has been at this for 5 years or more. I just want all these companies to push one another to give we consumers the best possible product.
Huge selection of third party support as well (head straps etc) not many companies gonna take the risk to make stuff for AVP until it has mass appeal

I think you are right about the larger third party developers. They need larger sales so the AVP won’t appeal to them. I speculate that smaller developers who have an interest in breaking new ground and who have experience making iOS apps will be more interested. I am guessing that having less of the big fish in the pond would be more advantageous to them. Getting in on the ground floor could be useful to them. The IPad’s success can be traced to a lot of these smaller developers. The Meta Quest 3 will definitely benefit from AVP being around but for those of use that are already in the Apple Ecosystem the integration is really hard to beat.
Ive never used a V/AR anything, i recsl teh hype o er the forst quest, but it didnt interested me. Ive had a stressfull and busy job for thr ladt 4 or 5 years, so really stepped out of the tech gsme.
The hype in thr apple one hasnt interested me either, far to do and i csnt digure out whst ite killer feature is, or really what its point its atm.
But hearing it briefly mentioned the quest 3 has now a well packed out software library here, i am quite interested in revisiting AR.

From the reviews I've watched the hand tracking was better on the quest 3 for things like games the vision pro had a slight delay.
I was looking for this comment. Everyone is reporting this. This vid feels like he owns a quest 3 but only used Vision Pro once and is trying to remember the experience.
To be honest even if the Vision Pro cost about same price as Quest 3, I would still buy the Quest 3. I cannot find a use case for Vision Pro if you already have a good TV and a home theater set up.
They are honestly both amazing in their own right. I wish I had more use for the AVP but as of now, I am sticking with the Quest just like you are

Once again I have the Quest 3 and love it but I also tested the AVP and the screens are 1,000x better and so was the hand tracking. I love the controllers for the Quest 3 and if Apple wants to compete in the gaming market with Meta they will have to match them with this controller tech but to say the hand tracking is better on the Quest 3 is 100% 🧢
4:15 Ummmm what? Bruh I have a Meta Quest 3 and out of the box that bad boy absolutely sucks from a comfort standpoint. I’m really enjoying the Quest 3 but I do find it hilarious that all the Apple haters love to comment when a new Apple product comes out on how you’ll have to pay X amount of dollars for accessory Y which should in their opinion should have came with the device and yet my Quest 3 cost me $500 upfront but I’ve since purchased a new head strap and not the overpriced crappy one from Meta but a 3rd party one that’s better and half the price, I’ve had to buy the silicon cover for the facial interface, I’ve had to purchase the silicon thingies for the controllers, I had to buy something to protect the lenses when I’m not using the device, I’ll eventually also buy a charging dock etc. I’m not complaining but it’s just funny how Apple gets ripped for these things but nobody mentions it when like every other company does the same. Dude is up here babbling like the Quest 3 is just perfect out of the box when it really isn’t I mean that included head strap sucks and my head was killing me after like 30 minutes of use and maybe the AVP is the same but at the very least they did include an alternate head mount in the box and that knit band looks and functions great which is why I’m seeing folks online using it on the Quest 3 with a 3D printed piece to make it compatible.
I have Quest 3, I don't have Apple Vision Pro although I've tried the store model. I feel that Quest 3 has an amazing potential, but as it currently stand, the software needs a LOT of improvement. For one thing, I can't completely remove the app, especially the demo. Yeah, it will clear the space when uninstall, but the icon becomes an eye sore that I can't seem to get rid of it. Also, it would be nice to run all kinds of Android app, much like Apple Vision Pro can run all kinds of iOS app. Yeah, I do have Sidequest installed, but still haven't figured out how to install Android app and that tutorial of how to install it looks complicated.

Not yet. If anyone has a PC, there are some work arounds using Side Quest. Anyone reading this look up the topic Playing PS5 on Meta Quest and a few videos will come up.
You can play pc games on it. You just link it to your pc steam account and play call of duty or something with a controller and the headset is like the tv or monitor. So it’s like playing on a 100 inch tv

Quest is trash. I returned it after three days because I bricked it. AVP is amazing the image quality and processing power is on another level. MQ3 pass through is terrible and grainy. This is a propaganda piece. Who pays you? Biggest issue with AVP is price.

I don’t own either product, but I tried the Apple Vision Pro and had a great experience. I didn’t encounter issues with the weight or motion blur, aside from some light bleed at the nose ridge and occasional hand occlusion glitches. Overall, it’s a fantastic product. I haven’t tried any Meta Quest, so I can’t compare. Analyzing Mark Zuckerberg’s review, it seems he might be overstating his product, perhaps due to a perceived threat from Apple’s $3500 headset. He tries to be nice, but it comes off as compensating for his own product’s shortcomings. In contrast, Carl Pei, the founder of Nothing Phone, gave an honest review of the iPhone, gaining new followers and buyers. The difference in approach between Mark and Carl is quite noticeable; Mark sounds like the kid who has to have the last word in the yard.

When you say the Meta Quest 3 has every feature and then some that is incorrect from multiple perspectives one being eye tracking is a hardware feature another would be field of view for hand tracking then on the software side the AVP is a fully featured OS that works for people with disabilities.
