When my kids were toddlers up to age 3 I did not let them use FaceTime. They had little screentime before age 5. There is a period of development when learning eye contact is an important milestone. FaceTime does not allow real eye contact - you must look at the camera for the other person to perceive you looking them in the eye. It’s subtle but eye contact for humans (and other animals) is very important. It just felt wrong to allow a baby to interact virtually with a person they loved without being able to make eye contact.

Most countries, unlike US, don't have a professional army, but instead have mandatory military conscription, which basically means that males are being sent to death en masse. Not a single word being said to each other as I passed them. Can you even fathom THIS technology 10 years in the future? Those kids in the circle won’t even be there. I think mostly due to the fact that someone recording makes people self-correct due to various anxieties people experience. So, even now after more than 10 years of smartphones, people are still quite opposed to other people filming them without explicit consent. That's why Google's AR glasses failed. And finally - for the VR use itself - there's not much value proposition in private life for now. I think the potential isolation and manipulation factors is why the AVP was designed to keep you in your environment - it can help ground you in what is real, so it doesn’t serve as a replacement. As for avatars, I think Apple’s taken the proper approach by only allowing your avatar to be based on your real appearance. I’ll never really like the idea of a digital photorealistic version of myself, but at least I can’t pretend to be some perfect version of me like I could on a platform that allows greater customization.

That sentence just dramatizes the whole ordeal so that more people agree with your argument out of fear, even though that is misinformation. Secondly: it has specific hand movements to use the virtual screens, it doesn‘t „adjust to your hand movement“ or anything and isn‘t picking up any new data from that, this just misrepresents what is actually going on, which could be classified as misinformation. Also, it tracks your eyes and hands, and your surroundings, anything you do in the digital world gets tracked like every other technological product like phones, tablets, etc…

There's a few people out there who have tried using VR in the real world - like using the headset as a daily driver. It's awkward - it doesn't work. Why? Because you feel like everyone is staring at you. AND THEY ARE! You can't use it while driving - like a phone. It's not compact - like a phone. You can't throw it in your pocket like a phone. It may seem like a failure at launch, but Metas' long-term goal is to completely monopolize the space altogether. The transhumanist and futurist agenda is very real. This device is further proof of them slowly merging man with machine. The device went from being in your pocket to facial goggles. What happens in the very near future when people start installing cyberware like in the game cyberpunk. This device is only going to drift humanity further away from our actual purpose here on earth. A large factor in the shrinking of the human brain, was learning to cook food, specifically meat. Meat became relatively extremely easy to bite and tear with the teeth, therefore the jaw shrank. We didn’t need to spend as much of our time hunting fresh meat, (‘cos cooked meat is easier to store and lasts longer), so we had more time to sit around and think. Use the brain more efficiently, less is needed. That’s a synopsis, but it’s broadly right.
