  • This is something most will never have to do but the old tricks used on previous Yamaha SxS models won't work such as using the long bearing support cage bolt. You'll need to purchase 2 M6-1 x 50 mm long bolts but 45 mm long may also work. If you're simply doing maintenance then removing the sheaves is easier since you have to remove them anyways.
I'm referring to DWRAT (I mispronounced his name) in this thread:
www.wolverineforums.com/threa... This is just meant to be taken light heartedly and he did bring up a good point as I don't believe anyone has ever had to replace an RMAX belt in the field (they simply limped back to the trailer and called it a day from playing U-Boat commander).
Please refer to this thread for process to remove bodywork to get to the CVT:

At about 5K miles I would start carrying one just in case.

@@mikechilds5355it's not 2 hrs lol it took me 15 mins to get the interior stuff out putting bolts in bags as I'm going. Takes about another 5 mins to get the housing bolts and exhaust stuff taken off. With the right tools and get it attitude you can do it well within an hr and half at most.
