I love how he outright ignores 120fps on Xbox series X for gears 5 and Halo Infinite. Those games HAVE to hit 60fps at a minimum on Xbox because they’re FPS games, with multiplayer. Which The Coalition is aware of, because they did that for every Gears of War game they’ve worked on.

Might never happen but that could lead to even better games and more profit in the end. I for myself would really love that.

Microsoft would absolutely put Gamepass on there with all of the day one games if given the opportunity but why would Sony allow that? They have their own very inferior competing service. Microsoft’s best bet is to make its next gen console just a PC hybrid with steam and all of that. Negotiate a sales cut with steam and epic while they’re at it. So many people would buy it simply because it would be the cheapest best performing budget PC, at launch anyway.

Sucks Hellblade 2 is tangled within console wars because it causes PS fanboys who are just looking for reasons to crap on Xbox to call it just another 30 fps game and for Xbox fanboys to respond by saying Sony use old engines and outdated graphics which is not true. I game on a pretty high end PC and Sony games are some of the best looking games in the market. I think using their proprietary engines is not only smart from an optimization perspective but makes business sense as well, they don't have to share profits with Epic.
Engines are an ever evolving endeavor, UE5 is an updated version of UE4, its the same with Sony's engines, they've been updated to take advantage of the newer hardware which they do from ray tracing to better multi core utilization, faster loading etc. Thing is UE5 is still a work in progress and very demanding on the hardware, I think many PC gamers who are touting 60 fps on their machines will be in for a surprise when they try it lol. I have messed around with UE5 games and tech demos. The game would've ran 30 fps on PS5 too if it were to release there as well. Its an issue because of console wars.

My nephew (good kid) was a playstation die hard. He got a really good job and bought himself a PS5 when it came out. I told him he should have just bought a PC. He told me that console would kill PC. Guess what he got himself for Christmas last year? That's right a PC. And he has been happier than a pig shit playing all the same games he played on his PS5 at 144fps 1440p ultra. He mostly plays Witcher 3 and DayZ.
P.S. this got me thinking just hiw down bad console guys are. They talk about having 60fps as if that makes them superior when I was playing at over double that for the last 10 years lol.

I'm in the minority but i do like my series x. Its ease of use at times and the ability to play my physical collection of xbox 360 and xbox one games gives it value. I have a stout pc that i love playing on as well. It has a 5900x with 7900xtx gpu and i still enjoy my Xbox at times. I have kids and my wife that we play family games together on the consoles. There is value in consoles for certain situations. Jumping on playing it takes two with my daughter, undercooked with my kids, the quarry with my wife, etc...
Same ....I have a bunch of gamer kids and they all have Series Ss in their rooms....and they love it.....we need a family plan for Game Pass !

When I play my PS5, I have it set to 1080p and use a 4k Upscaler. My Xbox I set to 1440p120 with VRR and I'm happy with that :D

Honestly when Alex posts his videos it's always perfect timing. Always early enough I get to listen to it at work . 😌 thanks Alex. The man posts during work hours priceless.
The part that really kills me with PlayStation die-hards, is they act like their box is all they need. When a PC and an Xbox make way more sense if you have Game Pass. I can play lots of retro titles from the 360 era, remastered.. without having to pay for them again like PS remasters. And as Alex points out, it sounds like most of PlayStations exclusives are what will be coming to PC.
What people don't understand is... no matter how much power in consoles you give to te devs, especialy 3rd party devs, you'll end up with 30 fps games. They'll just bloat the game with useless grpahical effects that brings down any CPU and if that's not enough the co with a new generation of UE. PC gamers should pray for weak consoles, so the games at lieast wil run smtly on PC. This is what I learned from 9th gena. And that's why im switching to PC completely (I played on both over the last 10 years).
I want convenience so I game on consoles. I know what I’m sacrificing for this convenience and I don’t lie to myself about it. At some point though if I want to exchange convenience for performance I’ll research a proper PC build and go from there.

Currently I play games with friends (of 20+ years) who don’t have an interest on playing games on PC, so yeah there’s a degree of inconvenience to PC gaming for me there. I don’t control what they can do, but I value the gaming time spent with my buddies.

Most premade PCs have windows virus scanners etc build in clicking a button and pressing install hardly sounds complex at all PC is as convenient as you want it to be

There are also many games that offer cross platform multiplayer. I play many games on pc with friends on consoles.

I like my PS5 but I don't participate in the console wars or see games as either/or. 🤷 Got a PC, too.
I game on the couch using my PC and LG C2 TV. I have a wireless keyboard with a track pad that gets me to Steam Big Picture and from there I can navigate using a controller. The added benefit over a console is I get to run my games at native 4k resolution and also have a high FPS. How is this not convenient? And yes, I have to do a driver update once a blue moon but it takes literally 5 minutes...
That’s what I’m considering. Have the C2 and looking at a 4070 TI super pc. Think I would be set for a while.

I like halo an fallout and elders scrolls and wanted to play starfield and avowed so I bought a series x. I'm moved to pc cause I wanted to. Not sure if you did something similar to this when you were younger, but in the UK when I small we'd grab copies of Argos (2400 page book of items they sell) and we would highlight what we wanted so our parents could get them us. As is normal you don't get everything you want or even sometimes anything. This guy just reminds of that, a little kid with a wish list (bit of spacestar ordering from The IT Crowd)
FPS to me is more important than graphical candy especially in multiplayer games. Even in 1999 when Quake 3 came out I lowered the graphics (not resolution) to get 120FPS and more clearer image; r_picmip 5, r_vertexlight 1, r_fullbright any day all day. And honestly I'd play Quake 3 with these settings today on my RX 7800XT.

Let’s grant him the idea of Gears 6 coming to PS5. There is no way in hell, they are going to ship the game locked to 30 FPS on their own platform but will be 60 FPS on PS5 Pro.
Xbox does a lot of dumb stuff. The very idea of Gears on PS5 would probably be a redline for Xbox fans and the idea of it being 60 on PS5 and not on Xbox would be a massive blunder and cause backlash the likes of we haven’t seen before.

In case he doesn't answer, yuzu won't be updated at all, at least by it's own creator, so it's safe to say Ryujinx is the best option left for the time being.

$500 for a ps5 , $500 for an x box series x , $600 for a ps 5 Pro , $400 or so for a switch 2.. all that plus taxes ... then add whatever amount for "Next Gen Systems " to that!!! Suddenly a $2000 gaming PC that's a lot more powerful and future proof doesn't sound so bad!!
Just beat Bayonetta 1 for the first time on my 3080 rig. Playing older games on newer hardware is great!

I don’t understand why Xbox doesn’t get more credit for the fact that even though their games on the consoles can be 30 FPS, they always release their first party games on PC day and date. Meaning, if you truly hate the 30 FPS, and want to get 60+ FPS on every single game you play from Xbox, you can get it on PC the same day for the same price and play it however you want to.
I mean, yeah, PlayStation gives you the 60 FPS modes on some of their games, but they’re either like Final Fantasy 16 where it never hits 60 FPS, or it’s Returnal where the resolution drops significantly to play in 60 FPS mode.
Xbox gives you the choice to play where you want to play.
You act like their games will sell only on xbox. Thats not an avenue for xbox anymore
I have a decent gaming PC, and i got my Series X at launch, but i got that during the time when they were slowly coming to PC, so i wasnt sure all titles would come to PC. Plus my brother got it for me before he passed. I do enjoy playing the console on the sofa, but i do enjoy more and more gaming on my PC. I believe im probably not gonna invest in any of these new consoles and rather migrate more and more to PC, and when i need to upgrade my gpu i will( currently 3060ti on 1440p monitor)

The only consoles I own (that are mine) are the old Nintendo DS lines (up to the new 3DS XL), a Gameboy Color, the Switch Lite, and an Oculus Quest 2. Most of my gaming is on a brand new gaming laptop after I upgraded from my 4 year old laptop.
While we do have a Play Station and an XBOX in the house, the PlayStation is the Black Ops 3 PS4 (which is my stepdad's) and the XBOX is my brother's (I know it's an XBOX One, but I don't know which exact XBOX One model nor do I care to find out).
I only go on my Switch during road trips (though I mostly use my phone to scroll through Discord lately), only have the Gameboy Color and DS line as nothing more than relics, and periodically go on my Quest 2 just to fuck around on VRChat. And very rarely will I decide to maybe go on the PlayStation 4 and have some fun. But majority of my gaming is PC gaming.
PC gaming is the most superior for one major advantage over all the consoles: Modding. It's so easy to mod a PC copy of Skyrim to have massive tits. Consoles need to allow that if they want to actually compete.
