The theory seems to be: if an inch thick steel casting broke, a quarter inch thick superficial weld with oil in it will work just fine.

I think, dirty and oily on top of dirty and oily cancels itself out. It'll be fine. On one hand I think...they know the roads, they say its good, its good. On the other hand, I think they just set up their next repair job. Either way anyone who's ever had to do bush repairs knows that the best repair is the one that holds and you use what you brung (AvE)

There is a formula here: If you need it, figure out how to repair without buying a new one, and of course, low cost labor and re-use scrap material for structure strength and you are back in buisiness. Yes even in Canada we have to do an occasional "bush fix" and these repairs tell that story. Amazing what can be done with will and strength!

All of these videos showing bodged repairs to catastrophic mechanical failures are due to one thing. The ridiculous over loading of vehicles. Why would you put 40 tonnes on a truck designed to carry 20. Welding a cast axle housing even with the correct rods and pre heating is a no go even at best. Pointless repair

Look at Mohammed go! Who would have thought you could waste so much time and resources doing so little? Certainly not Mohammed!

Just another horrible repair. Do they do a shitty job on purpose for more views? Are they incompetent, or just con artists?

Clearly, those fixes work fine. If not, they would be out of business.

This is what happens when the trucks are constantly overloaded.

That’s got to be from grossly overweighted vehicle time and time again ! If that lasts I’ll eat my hat 🎩😂

Considering how calm those mechanics - they suppose it will last for a couple of decades more. They trust in their welding skills.
