Do not do any more than it is designed to do. These people are after likes and do not care who gets seriously injured. Go checkout grinding disc accidents if you have the stomach. Always wear a strong leather apron ear defenders head gear with face guard. Never use without guard. Never use cutting discs to grind or use grinding to cut. On a bench grinder never remove the guard and use the side of the wheel to grind.

The welding will usually create a fault on either side of the weld. I agree with others, the structural integrity is compromised.

Absolutely no attempt was made to clean the years of (dirt road) grit and crud off of that gearbox. So there was no surprise that all that shit was immediately attracted into the gearbox grease. So I thought "OK, don't be judgmental yet. Maybe someone else will be cleaning this thing while the repair is being machined"? No such luck. The newly machined repair was slapped together, dirt, grit and all. Not even a spec of fresh grease was added to replace what was lost from opening and wiping. Furthermore, when a shop returns the repaired item to the customer it should look like they took pride in their work. Handing it back to them looking like it did when brought in is unacceptable. How many more times will we see the exact same video posted under multiple different channel names? The only thing we see is someone taking a bit of broken scrap, wasting time showing a FAUX "Repair" and turning ordinary "scrap" into vastly more expensive "scrap" that will never be fitted to any engine or put to useful use.
