A great video thanks, with lots of useful tips and facts, I am a 1994 T4 Villa XZLK owner, just bought it, and am lucky that rust issues have all been seen too, with new sills and wheel arches. It is a 5Cyl 2.4D and also suffers from a lack of power uphills, even slight ones, But, I love it, it is freedom on wheels, and a great van and would never sell her, as you pointed out, why spend more than 10k on a van that in time will rust also. Great 👍👍
Really enjoyed this, down to earth, had my t4 5 yrs, spent more than I dare say, use every day, go away in her several times a year, she's slow but wouldn't sell her for anything. It's nice to know she might last many more years. Love your vw all ready 😊...

Bits for these are mega cheap. The rollers for the sliding doors are under 20 quid and I changed all the locks on mine due to broken barrells for under 15. Remember to jack the sliding door up when you change the runners
19:40 - that thing is for certain engines that had some sort of engine cold-start "handle" that went there, absolutely no idea what they look like but I think staring at that plastic part like a confused monkey is a T4 ownership right of passage.

Funny that’s something we’ve been wondering… the white T4 we’ve never used the heater in it, always just left the van running for a bit. This one in theory should hold heat better as there’s less ways for it to escape… but we’ll have a look see!

The best of the T4s is the SWB 2l petrol AAC engine code.
The motors go forever and take loads of abuse.
For a day van or camper that won't be hauling heavy loads, the power is sufficient.

Here is Portugal T4s can often bring more than the T5. The best van of all is the post 07 Vivaro, no question. Er, it's not a tdi without an intercooler, that was called the TD..unless VW are lying. Turbo Diesel Intercooled.

@@427Motorsports Yes, the best selling van in the UK, sister van Trafic, the best selling van in Europe. True, but I owned a non intercooled T4 it was called a TD. That is why I asked were VW lying because they bought the tdi out after, which had intercoolers. D ,TD, TDI
the T4 name in past German history .....was not good , im always surprised they used this name . i have a T4 1,9 ABL TD.....i thought i spent a lot of time and money on classic bikes....my van has the same very faded red paint
