  • If there's one upgrade to make to the APFG Rattler then its the inner barrel, as promised in the review i have replaced the stock inner barrel with a 138mm Maple Leaf Crazy Jet, so lets see how much of an improvement it really is.
    "Spoiler Alert, it is a massive improvement"

      Hi there, Thanks for the comment. Apart from plenty of heat, make sure to remove the tiny grub screw holding the outer barrel in place and try rotation in both directions cw and ccw to loosen the glue. Hope that helps.

    That is a very impressive improvement for sure. What the fps now? The one I have shoots almost too high for cqb fields here which has stopped me from getting any inner barrel upgrades

    • @MiddleAgeGameruk
      @MiddleAgeGameruk  Před rokem +1

      The inner barrel is 6.04mm but the same length so there wasn't any jule creep really. I have it steady at 310fps on .25s, so bang on the cqb limit here. The crazy jet in general dose not add much to the fps as the vortex created is at the last inch of the barrel.

    • @MiddleAgeGameruk
      @MiddleAgeGameruk  Před rokem

      Hi there, not really as the length is the same, its the vortex generated in the last inch of the barrel that stablizes the bb for greater accuracy. There is an npass in the nozzle so if it dose rise its just a small twist and its back under through summer etc..
      The stock inner barrel is 6.04mm my friend, the crazy jet was as well but with better materials that are not prone to micro bending with the attachable supresser extention.

    Hey Middle Aged Gamer. Great video, i did the exact same upgrade after seeing yours. Havent fielded gun yet but im finding its having trouble feeding because my nozzle and bucking are sticking after every shot (too much seal creating a suction effect).
    Did you experience this? Any tips?

    • @MiddleAgeGameruk
      @MiddleAgeGameruk  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Hi there, with the rattler, I haven't had that issue. I left the bucking stock as it's not a bad bucking for cqb. The accuracy improvement comes from the crazy jet inner barrel, creating a vortex around the bb for the first few metres so the back spin of the bb can stabilze. With my mk18, I experienced the opposite where the bucking was so tight the nozzle could not enter and seal on full auto or burst fire. This problem worked its way out with semi auto use over the corse of 1k rounds or so as the bucking wore in. It sounds like that may be the case for you, too.

    • @MiddleAgeGameruk
      @MiddleAgeGameruk  Před 3 měsíci

      Hi there, firstly, when looking for handguards, you need to find the ones designed for the rattler due to the dimensions with the mcx being different. A good place to look for airsoft ones is at wgcshop.com. as for inner barrels, with mine, I used crazy jet from mapleleaf, but I would not go beyond 9" as the effect of the crazy jet is drastically reduced with length. Outer barrels are just any 14mm ccw that suits you. Hope that helps.

      Hi there, nice purchase of the Rattler 😊. The first thing to ask yourself self is are you going to run it always with its sig suppresor. If so then go with the length that gets you through the suppressor. Second, to achieve the fps, you can tune the nossle with the built-in npass. It takes a 1.5mm Alan key down the nossle to adjust. Hope that helps. P.s. don't go past 250 mm for a crazy jet, or you will not see good results they really work best any length up to 250mm.

      Hi there, the only way to still use the inner barrel extension supresser and still get the crazy jet effect on the bb is to use the supresser without the extension inside. As for the fps increase, the original inner barrel is roughly the same length, so if you need to increase, just use a 1.5mm hex key down the nozzle, and that way, you can increase or decrease if needed. Hope that helps

    • @MiddleAgeGameruk
      @MiddleAgeGameruk  Před 10 měsíci

      Hi there, with the regards to the hop bucking, once you have gained access to it you will realise its just a standard autobot/decepticon spec that's been modified to remove the extra bit that holds it upright. With a gbbr, there's no need as the hop chamber does all that for you. As for what degree, we'll that depends on the bb weight you're using. I use .2s or .25s as I run CQB, so a 50 to 60 degree. Lastly, the bb issue you're seeing is a result of a mid range bucking made for .25s and up and everything being brand new. I had the same issue and can confirm it worked itself out with rounds down range. The first 500 on semi, then another 500 on burst before mag dumping it on full for another 500. Once the bolt had done its job and smoothed a path for itself and the nozzle had worn in the bucking entrance, everything will sort itself out

    • @MiddleAgeGameruk
      @MiddleAgeGameruk  Před 5 měsíci +1

      Hi there, the double feed issues are down to one of two things, if the rattler is new you will find the bucking they use is manufactured a little on the tight side and so the nozzle won't seal correctly bouncing back enough to pick a second round loosely. This is easily fixed with semi auto use for the first 1.5k rounds, and slowly, it will wear in. Tou can always change the bucking to a mapleleaf or unicorn. The second issue could be that the feedlips of the mag are not tight enough to only let one bb free at a time, and that's just a feed lip switch. Either way, it's a relatively small cost part to chainge.

If so I'd check the nozzle for damage first and second when inserting the mag give the mag a pull just incase there is a bit of over insertion. A few mm of extra travel can alow for excessive wear. The last option would be to replace the gas seal with aftermarket ones and as an extra precaution id replace the nozzle too.
