      Allah's exclusive name is al Wahab! by Abu Huraira!
      - **I have not ceased to love Bani Tamim (bin Abd. Wahab?) since I heard 3 qualities of them by Allah's Messenger (ﷺ peace & blessings be on him) who said: They, out of my umma, will be the strongest opponent of Ad-Dajjal;** `Aisha had a slave-girl from them, and the Prophet (ﷺ peace and blessings be upon him) told her to manumit her as she was from the descendants of (the Prophet) Ishmael; and, when their Zakat was brought, the Prophet (ﷺ peace and blessings be upon him) said, "This is the Zakat of my people."

    • @Gulchih
      @Gulchih Před 11 měsíci

      @DaBurger1411 The word "Salaf" ≠ Salafiyya.
      Also, "Just following the Salaf" without explaining further is meaningless since even the Shia say they are "following the Salaf".

    • @Gulchih
      @Gulchih Před 11 měsíci

      @DaBurger1411 Sigh. Look, I do not have the urge or time to debate, especially someone who identifies himself with a burger. If you want to actually learn, do it yourself by looking up the difference. In brief, this the problem with Salafis: Unless you can distinguish an 18th-century phenomenon from a 7th to 21st century phenomenon, you cannot understand what path has always been followed by the vast masses of Muslims. Salam

    • @Gulchih
      @Gulchih Před 11 měsíci

      @DaBurger1411 Dear brother:
      1) Sincere advice: Please do not assume of others that which you do not know. This is a huge problem with the Salafiyya who slap a pejorative label of "Sufi" on everyone and anyone without a eye on the issue at stake. I'm not a Sufi but a Muslim, a traditional Muslim, as were the vast masses of Muslims through the past 14 centuries. Traditional or ordinary Muslims have always opposed going to graves for intercession and also opposed the historic destruction of Sahabas' houses, flattening them and turning them into public bathrooms or highways. The former are Barelwi movement, a 19th century phenomenon, and the latter comes from Salafiyya, also a 19th century phenomenon. Salafiyya is a modern concept that borrows from the actual Salaf and some well-known scholars, but is qualitatively different from the Islam that has been followed by the vast masses of Muslims through the past. Salafiyya-identifying groups are known as "Ahle Hadeeth" in some parts of the world, which I find far more apt than Salafi because "Salafi" by itself can describe all kinds of Muslims.
      2) Learn to distinguish between the map and the territory. You seem to confuse the two. They are not the same thing.
      3) I want to emphasize, please read and teach in the real world instead of debating online, even on this very issue. Online comment box debates are not a very good use of your or my time.
      Salam aleykum.

      Even the mutawatir ahadith have variations. The ahadith aren't designed to be preserved. What is preserved is the Qur'an and the living tradition. The secret of Islam is in the Sanad. We didn't learn salah from hadith, we learnt it by watching other people who watched other people who watched other people etc. Only now, the protestant movement, just like in Christianity, says that we should turn only to Sola Scriptura. But the Imams didn't teach this deen through ahadith; they lived the tradition and other people saw them and lived it too. Islam is a living organism.

    Without taking a stance, it is well known that Ibn Sina drank wine in moderation to help with sleep. This is not a conspiracy, it is documented in several historical texts and he advocated for it in moderation. The point: stop blindly following any scholar-whether Salafi, Sufi or other. They are all humans. Many scholars continue to be exposed today-whether it’s their political views or social life. The misguided scholars and corrupt rulers are a clear sign of the end times.

      Just like any unfortunate muslim who does zina. He becomes a sinner, yet he is still a muslim but on the day of judgment, only Allah knows who has iman in his heart or who didn't have any. In this world we can only judge by actions. If he says he is a muslim and he utters the shahada he is treated as a muslim and if a sin like zina is proven by specific witnessing of penetration by 4 adult morally upright male witnesses then the punishment is carried out by a valid court not mobs as is unfortunately the case nowadays.
      Secondly, you have to prove that ibn sina did zina openly before you make it public here as then you will be questioned by Allah swt on the day of judgment. Would you like someone who hates you do the Same to you?

    Salafi's reject the idea of Mazhab and claim to follow Quran and Sunnah directly. This contraditcts the very foundation of having a Hanbali (or the other 3 Mazhabs)
    Hanbali's like the other school of Fiqh accept Ijma' as a source of Jurisprudice (after Quran and Sunnah). Salafis seem (at least in practice) reject that idea.
    There are differences in Aqida.
    More signifcant is that many Salafis seem to reject other opinions and schools in Fiqh and Aqidah, which the Hanbalis don't. **That means even if Salafis would equal Hanbalis in Aqida and Fiqh (which they don't), when the Salafis reject other Madhabs and Aqidah schools, than they become clearly different form Hanbalis. **
    Also Salafis reject Tassawuf completely, Hanbalis do not.
    And the most important Point: Salafis by their ideologoy do not like to be associated with a certain mazhab, aqeeda, manaj, etc. That means there might be Salafi Scholars that accept Mazhabs completely, while others call people who folloow Mazhabs Kufaar. Both are of course extreme cases. Because this ambiguity with Salafis, but not with Hanbalis, they become something completely different.
    Also Hanbalis are accepted and embraced by all Sunni scholars as part of Ahlus-sunnah-wal-jamaa'a. Salafis are not. Very often because of the fitnah they create, but also because of the ambiguity. (You can't accept that you don't know).
    In conclusion: Salafis and Hanbalis are completely different things and can actually not be compared (e.g. apple vs oranges). Some Salafis might be pretty much Hanbalis, others might have absolutely nothing to do with it. Hanbalis are definitly Sunni. Salafis very often not due to their differences in Fiqh and Aqidah, but mostly due to their rejection of other schools and the ambiguity of their own fiqh and aqidah.
    Salafis claim to follow Hanbali madhab because they know that they cannot pray, fast, give zakat without following the authority of any of the four imams as all other valid schools of Ahl us Sunnah Wal Jamah are extinct.

    I am amazed by the deference Shaykh Hamza shows to Ibn Taymiyyah and, yet, Ibn Taymiyyah is a highly divisive figure by the insistence of his most avid followers today. This is like trying to be moral royal than the king, frankly. When a nasty group of people disparage almost all Muslim traditions and deem them heretical innovations, and then loosen their tongues on the sterling reputations of our greatest lights current and past, and then they bandy about Ibn Taymiyyah as the man showing them the way what is the dire need to stand up for Ibn Taymiyyah instead of those being attacked? When someone tries to destroy the foundation of your house you don't worry about their psychological background BEFORE stopping them.
    Shaykh Hamza Yusuf admonishes Wahhabi/Salafi craziness too mildly. And hits regular Sunnis too harshly. I don't doubt his commitment to the Sawad al-Azam, but he tries too hard, frankly, to please everyone. Or at least used to try, as this is an older recording. I don't think he is giving many talks like this one anymore. The crazies don't give out brownie points.
    Right and wrong are not mysteries. And extremism is bad no matter how intelligent the scholar. These are uncomplicated matters that the esteemed shaykh, unfortunately, is making too much of.

    I warned people about taking and reading hadiths with out context. Like for example reading a hadith about the prophet who supposed to have said burn people's house if they do not come to fijar. I warned people even in context you got to be very very careful about them becasue one you do not know if there are other hadiths, two you do not know the historical context. What does it mean by the latter, it means you do not know the political, soical, enviromental, geographical, demographical and lingustical context of the hadith. One needs speicalist training to understnad it. So no hadith can be taken singulary, and in isolation. Another example about a guy who said had dinnner with the prophet and the prophet when away and the guy followed him, it was then as he followed him he said he saw the seal of the prophet between his shoulder blades. Muslim 60. so what is the problem with the hadith? answer: how did the guy saw the seal on the prophet's back ? Was he in the house of the prophet, did the prophet take his upper garment off, or did the guy thought he saw it? Is there other hadiths about this hadith? Again the other warnings i given about hadiths also apply to this, ie when was it said, how was it said, why was it, etc, etc.
    in the video hamaza said if person believe in the one god with truth and from his heart will go to heaven but this contridict the otherr about a hadith being extremely sound that its impossible for it be not said, and person says i do not believe in it, will not be a muslim even if he believe in truth and with his hear their is one god and muhammad is his messenger. I think the problem here is a failure to understand historical methodology, even if 10 people heard something said, it does not mean it was said, all could be mistaken, if if 50 heard a saying, they could alll be wrong. Of course the more people hear something the more likely it would be said,, but say it was 100% correct, cannot be be said ever without massive amount of evidence. My view would be it would be there would a strong case for a saying to be related but based on the number of people who heard it, the context, and the rest, read start of the paragraph. So hamaza is not showing a true understaind of historical methodology here as both sayings of belief and not accepting a very strong hadith contridict.
    The point about being careful about hadith is very true via the fly hadith. It is medical fact flies carry infections, there is no evidence that part of the part fly carries cure and other part carries the diesease. So one puts that fly in your fea or food you are indangering yourself, that fly could been on a piece of dung, a dead animal etc and you are eating it bease on the hadith. Now does it mean the prophet said it no, but equally it could mean he did. So if i said you i do not accept the hadith true meaing the prophet is wrong if said. Some one would say i am not muslim even though they would not do what the prophet advised. Please note even if the prophet DID say it, it does not mean he is a prophet of god, it just means he is not perfect and made a mistake. In other words he is being human.
    "Narrated Abu Huraira:
    The Prophet (ﷺ) said "If a house fly falls in the drink of anyone of you, he should dip it (in the drink) and take it out, for one of its wings has a disease and the other has the cure for the disease." sunnah.com/bukhari:3320
