There's no concrete proof that Islam had a 'golden' age. That claim is a product of modern imagination, not of a reliable historical narrative. Also, Islam "stole" the knowledge from the peoples they conquered, and is never known for ingenuity and innovations. If they were, then the Muslim majority countries in the world should never fall on either war-torn or below third world country, some even barely reaching the developing category. Study More so that you don't spout nonsense.

intelligence vs ignorance. this journalist wasn't seeking knowledge. she had her opinions and was on the attack. this was not an interview. shaykh hamza never lost his temper. he remained calm and dignified and logical. good for him !!!
It's the job of a journalist to extract information from their guest, and you do that by challenging them. All she did was ask questions and let him answer and elaborate. She actually did a great job because you got to listen to his points in full. In other interviews you'd not hear the guest themselves that much
The job of journalists is not to seek truth and facts to inform the public but the lie, deceive and cheat the public.

The lady is pulled back by the intelligence and vast knowledge of Shaykh Hamza Yusuf. She knew what she was doing in that interview and tried it but did not succeed! Does she not know who the humble Shaykh is! Shaykh Hamza Yusuf is one of the greatest pioneers amongst the giants of islamic scholars that the world has today, Alhamdulillah! The Shaykh handled the lady's questions the same way you'd handle a new born baby. Shaykh is a man of Allah! The world is lucky to have him and especially the Muslim world, Alhamdulillah! Im Palestinian and he’s absolutely right i read about Afghanistan Iraq Yemen Chechnya Syria Iraq Kashmir and ask Allah to help and protect all of us were all one united ummah. war against any muslim is war against all of us. The title doesn't do justice to the eloquence and intelligent manner with which Sh. Hamza conducted this interview.
Sheikh Hamza speeches are free lectures, you can learn history, religion, political science, social science. I always prepare my notebook and dictionary. Sometimes 8th century poems and Greek civilizations stories can pass.

You are right. But, It's not only about journalists but even in everyday life, I find it difficult to converse with people because everyone wants to talk a lot but have no patience to listen to her/his counterparts. So i am feeling to abandon conversation with people unless it's really necessary to.

Most of my learning in Islam I did after returning to Pakistan from the UK was at Qur'an Academy during the 90's in Karachi which was run by a great scholar and intellect Dr. Israr Ahamd (may his beautiful soul rest in Peace - Ameen)

Aameen Allahumma aameen. It was his humility/humbleness, calmness and patience that struck me most, although there's without a doubt he is truly intelligent and has deep knowledge of what he's talking about. Syaikh Hamza Yusuf is really portraying how a Muslim should be. A really good example for all rest of us for we all are the ambassadors of Allâh and Islam.
I watched in one of his videos where he gave an explanation about Islam and said Istighfaar because he mentioned one great Muslim scholar/Ulama who's greater than him. And at that time he said Istighfaar because he realized he sounded self-importance or arrogant. And humbled himself by saying he didn't even consider himself as a scholar but a student of knowledge.
He corrected himself right away and ask for Allâh's forgiveness for his fault. And that was a good reminder that he, a man of vast knowledge wasn't immune to the human's faults. And his way of acknowledging and not being proud to admit that he was wrong in front of the people who listened to him was really a good example for me. Because that reminds me that none other than Allâh SWT is The Greatest, The Most Knowledgeable. MashaAllâh.

I wouldn’t have used the term destroyed. It implies setting about violence towards the person. You misunderstand the purpose of the interviewer which is to ask challenging questions, often questions that embody the beliefs of the public at large. It was a very good interview and gave Hamza Yusuf a good platform to voice key concerns but also clarify much. What is difficult is that from an Islamic perspective a discussion is only fair when both parties understand the meaning of the vocabulary used. The interviewer did not understand the theological framework that Hamza Yusuf used. A person practising a faith would have understood far better than someone of no faith.
